Also, I wish Betta splendins could be allowed back into the wild /= They diserve something like that, and it's nearly impossible to recreate that kind of habitat unless you build a 10,000+ gallon tank /=
I fell bad I keep mine in a pretty big bowl. Now it's moving to a tank with a bunch of rocks to hide in thanks for showing this! I would have never known
When kept in a larger sized tank with plants, caves and wood they come alive as any fish would. Water chemistry is important to any living fish and it is almost impossible to be kept in harmony in a small container or even a small aquarium. They are extremely curious, intelligent fish.
lutelya, why not go out, buy a 5-10 min, a lower flow filter, heater, low light plants - Java Moss, Anubias, Crypts & do your job of providing proper care for a creature you decided to be responsible for?
my poor betta living in a little pot while it doesn't deserve. i wish i could bring him back to the nature. it belongs to there. they are not something we can decorate our rooms just because we are able to :(
i dont think it would survive, if its a large finned male it wouldn't live very long, there actually not very good swimmers, so even thought it would probably be more comfortable in the wild it would probably only live for afew days a week if its lucky, if you want it to be happier just by a larger tank, i found a 3 gallon tank with a heater, filter, light, and airator all for just $14 at my local Petco
then why dont you and everyone else just buy a 10-30 gallon to put your bettas in i get sick of seeing these poor fish in little bowles that you probably couldnt fill up a cup with and think that animal is happy and i hate ppl who just think any kind of fish are just decoration theyre living to how would you like not to be able to walk bc fish like to swim so for anyone who has any kind of fish in a little bowl or w/e you wanna call it just think about this the nxt time you look at the poor fish
Yeah prima's are still in the betta species but care for their young diffferently. I am excited about this video to see bettas in the wild whether it be the domesticated or wild, in there natural habbitate.
good home

Very interestingly shot video; I feel like I am there, in the water with the wild Bettas.

Could I ask what kind of substrate the wild betta's have, as I would like to replicate the natural habitat for my betta's?

All betta owners should see this video, to prove what pet stores tell you about bettas living in puddles of water their while life is false!

The betta prima is mouth brooding fish not betta fighting fish. Water slow flow.
