the only nitpik i have with this game is how small the castle itself really is in comparison to other games... it could have been MUCH bigger... other than that.... this game gets a perfecft 10 for me.

This is the most artful use of cel shading I have ever seen. Why don't modern anime use this technique? One would think it would save tons of money while preserving the quality of the animation. With cut and paste models and keyframes you could create a really nice looking show.

Order of Ecclesia's Dracula was better than the one in Portrait of Ruin.

But Portrait of Ruin's opening is second to none, in comparison to other CastleVanias. Nothing like the sound of the the Vampire Killer Whip breaking skeletons apart.

I did not much care for Ecclesia though. I felt the story and characters were quite drab. I also didn't like how, in Ecclesia, you cannot kill Dracula any other way.

Dracula isnt shown in this opening sequence. The old vampire looking dude wants to steal the powers from Dracula hence the game being based from portraits and paintings in the castle.

Jump, double jump and then press the jump button while pressing the directional button downwards.

Charlotte can't kick, she is not athletic, and uses a magic broom to double jump.

Come to think of it....Charlotte can't do the phoenix jump, or any other sorta special move other than her megaman/metroid style magic.
