I almost lost my job a year ago when i stated that Exodus was originally composed by Clayderman. Before seeing this video i still thought that Clayderman has at least written one piece, this. But, not to be...
@JohnDark93 Well, Clayderman may have written something - but, as I have said in my notes, he is really a frontman for de Senneville and Toussaint! He gets the glory and they get (I hope) some decent revenues!
I loved this video but I ADORE the song ! You're really good.
Most of the pianist taht I know can't play with there hearts this song but you can.
I'm learing this song right now and I just like to say that there's one person other than you who can play it amazingly : Rebeca, my piano teacher and my role modle.
@266Girl Thanks for your very kind comment. Feeling and emotion is very important in piano playing, and I am pleased that you have a teacher who can inspire you! Good luck with your study of the piece!
i learnt to play this piece over the last like 5 months and i feel such an acomplishment...! haha brilliant!! love it!! your very inspiring...did you write this for your daughter..? thats what i read on wikipidea...?
@maybesomedaydude Thank you! I am not Paul de Senneville and did not write the piece (I wish I had - I might be a rich man!). I hope you enjoy playing the piece as much as I did.
Thanks for your comment. I do a lot of piano playing, and sometimes have to accompany opera rehearsals, maybe playing for an hour or more non-stop! Therefore I change my playing position every time I feel at all tense!
Thank you! There certainly are several published versions, but whatever version you use, it is worth listening to Clayderman play it, as he was hired by the compser to perform his works.
Stunning.....I am really impressed. :) it's also good that you play so many unknown pieces, every amateur can find something originall, as we are all bored with Chopin&Mozart&Bach ;)
I'm glad you liked it. Of course this piece is actually very well known - but it is not often played by the sort of pianists that play Chopin, Mozart and Bach. I put some quite 'heavyweight' classical pieces on this channel, but like to add some lighter pieces to contrast.
I also gave this piece as a teacher - the young people reacted to this very well. It had a great appeal to them, even those who loved only Rock. Thankls for uploading.
I agree with BachScholar, I taught this piece to ever so many piano students during the 80's. It is still a lovely French piece of music... does bring back memories. Thank you.
If I'm honest I don't rate it at all highly as music. However, it is very popular - whether through its inherent quality, or Clayderman's image - so it is an interesting challenge for me as an interpreter!
Thank you for putting this up. Helps us novices having someone play it right. If you get a chance, your heart's inclination permitting, i would also love to hear you play a comme amour, marriage d'amour, and lettre a ma mere.
Thank you for your comment. 'Lettre..' is on its way. 'A comme...' is really a song rather than a piano piece. 'Marriage...' is a possibility, but the published score is odd, and I would need to check carefully with recordings.
Oh my God.....this brings back memories of when I taught private piano in Germany (1988-91) and Clayderman and Adeline were all the rage with students (mostly teenage girls). I think I played this a million times for students. I was hoping I would never hear it again until this video. Nicely played though.
I think at least one new version appears on YouTube every day. I thought I would have a go myself as light reliev to the Reger pieces I uploaded recently!
Some people sound like a robot when playing this song, but I feel a warm when you play the song :) I like it very much thanks!

PSearPianist as unknown ;) :) Of course Ballade is well - known ;)

That's OK. I like to do a mixture of unknown and well known music so that viewers who look for the well-known pieces might sample the unknown ones!
