Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey were a great combination. They were one of my favorite groups of the 1930's.

2nd title is 'Freeze an' melt' - but who are the other guys in the band? And when was it recorded?

The record was made 5/22/29 with Leo McConville, trumpet; Arthur Schutt, piano; Joe Tarto, bass; Stan King, drums. On the first tune, Bugle Call Rag, Tommy Dorsey plays the first half on trombone, then switches to trumpet about mid way.

The lp you have pictured is Parlophone #7133. The 1st recording is Bugle Call Rag by Ed Lang and His Orchestra.

These small combos are the real deal.
The big bands saccharin-ized everything.
