  • GREECEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • this movie is amazing, but there are misshaps. Thats all I have to say.

  • @Lhein33 I know what you mean.. but people say it not in offense, just to better defy or explain. I mean, If I tell you a story about a fish.. your most logical question would be to ask, "what kind of fish?" besides.. we don't live in those times anymore (metaphorically we live in worse), you can't just say, it is what it is.. and expect people to believe that as an explanation. /=)

  • Orlando Bloom's character is infuriating. He sacrificed so many of his own people just to get it on with the unfaithful wife of the general of the army they just made peace with after long battles. That is mad dishonorable and he should have been killed by his own people. How can that prince show his face in front of the people that fight for his father's kingdom? lmao. Note to self: Calm down its just a movie hahaha.

  • @519waterloo You have to thank Aphrodite for that mess.. even though she wasn't even in the movie, which is a shame really. The director wanted to make it more (reality-based) realistic.. hence-forth taking out the Gods, Clytemnestra (Agamemnon's wife), Cassandra/Alexandra. There by shifting major players that cause this great fiasco.. however, I still liked it. They portrayed Achilles perfectly (apart from him being bi taken out).. which I really liked regardless of who played him.

  • @519waterloo What I meant to say was.. I didn't really mind if they made him bi-sexual as they ought to have. I just didn't want him portrayed as they did him in Helen of Troy.. god that was horrible. He wasn't a battle-obsessed Gorilla.. he was an arrogant, selfish, prideful and yet skillful warrior. In his own right.. which made him great ^_^ (tolerable for some). As far as Brad Pitt goes.. he was good, had the perfect arrogance, skills and built for the character too.

  • Brad Pitt ♥♥♥♥ he is... omg to be the woman at his side would be the greatest luck for life i can imagine ... for only 1 year with him i would would sacrifice the rest of my life - no thats not true only one month would be enough ♥♥♥

  • Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom & Eric Bana!

  • @UkpehEdidiong your right bro. The movie is for what I am living...

  • this was based off the book "The Iliad" By Homer

  • achilles is hot!!!!! makes me !@#$%^&WI!!! :PPP

  • In history most of the heroes were someone dolls and kings controlled them.

  • if i would be achilles i could step to side of Troy

  • have the beach i didnt come here for sand... best bit of film lol :D

  • best movie i see

  • Troy story bro

  • one of d best film i hav ever seen...

  • I have to read the Iliad for school. I saw this when I was 12, but I'd like to see it again once I've read the whole poem.

  • Great movie... but I love the music on this trailer... can anyone tell me how to find it?!...

  • This will be the greatest war ever seen. We need the greatest warrior. BRAD PITT!

  • follow @marwa_elsi

  • I watched this movie when I was in grade 5-6, and wanting to be like Achilles I made myself cardboard sword and shield with matching armor xD

I'm now graduated from highschool and still have them lool

  • Brad pit is a Lil bitch!

  • The book was much better. The books are always much better.

  • Brad Pitt looks really good in this role. Intense trailer.

  • Iliad: Best war/action story ever made. Iliad>Bible

  • good movie, saw it yesterday latest (seen it many times before). not one off the best epic historical movies, but still strong!

  • HECTOR!

  • This movie was good on it's own...but I have a peeve where it needs to follow at least close to the story it's based on...that's why i dont think this movie was very good. Like i said, just a peeve.

  • @freak4jesus96, Yeah, for a start Achilles was a homosexual so the love scenes with the babes should have been slightly different. LOL!

  • @CalumGilhooly uhm.. I don't think he's homosexual. bi, perhaps. but not homo; he had a son :D

  • @evaberlin Hmm, well, I think that the ancient Greeks regarded romantic love in a similar way to how many Arabs regard it, women are for child bearing and boys/men are for love, (blech!). Greek shield brothers were often lovers as they figured that a lover would fight harder to protect themselves/each other than if their was a weaker connection. Cheers.

  • @CalumGilhooly I don't think that ancient Greeks didn't like making love to women and had them only for breeding.

Also, we don't know the ethics of the Mycaenean era or of Homer's period; in the Iliad/Odyssey there is not reference to homosexual love. That happens from the classical era and forth.

And for Achilles, read Iliad, book 9, verses 663-668. Achilles and Patroclus take two women and sleep with them.

Lastly, whoever uses the word homo/bi etc for ancient Greeks is ignorant.

  • @Lhein33, OK perhaps I went a bit far there but the attitude of many people in the Arabic world is as I described it so perhaps I should have asked IF it was likely to be the same attitude. The Greek hoplites certainly went into battle with their shield brother/lover. The samurai of Japan had a similar ethos, especially when they were on a long campaign, far from home and their wives. Young males soldiers were a replacement. Not making a judgement, just saying.

  • @CalumGilhooly And I don't make a judgement, we talk historically, not morally. The homosexual relationships in Greece was 90% between a man and a teenager (social status: MAN/CITIZEN and NO-MAN/CITIZEN), not between two adults. If there was such a relationship, the man who would have the passive role would have a lower social status.

So, what you say about hoplites is quite wrong. The Sacred Band had this characteristic, but not all phalanxes.

  • @Lhein33, I see, thanks for the information. Peace.

  • @Lhein33 using "homo/bi" as a description is not arrogant, it's just a term better clarify the situation being explained. But, as far as sleeping for your respect in the "status" quot.. I don't think that's true, but, it's not impossible. Although, hahahah.. you have to admit.. those were some fucked times.

  • @LoyalNODZealot The terms homo/bi are creations of the modern mentality. They presuppose the modern concept of sexuality: every human beings develops a sexual orientation; this orientation is towards the opposite sex, the same sex or both.

Such concept was absent in the ancient greek and roman world. That's what I said.

  • such an amazing movie

  • COME ON. you can nothing but love brad pitt. even though he might be a bastard some scenes.. He is oh so hot :o

  • it would be great if hector didnt die, or he die and become the source of the trojans wisdom and faith to protect their freedom from invaders...i like hector...he is the hero in this movie for me, but a little underexposed because of achilles..

  • if you mute this trailer and put on the song Mind Heist from Inception on while watching this, it. is. EPIC!

  • One of the most masterpiece film that i've been seeing for years. It's always my top favorite film.

  • orlando bloom<3 i melteeeddd

  • We need the greatest warrior: BRAD PITT! Hang on a minute...

  • gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood i love this movie.....brad pitt u r the best of the rest....lol

  • wonder how the soldiers feel about fighitng so their prince can have his woman

  • Movie had a lot of potential... soo much could've been built on to make it an epic.

Still love it though. I have it on blu-ray and dvd.

  • lol, they made it seem like Brad Pitt is the only one that really mattered...

  • @Cristalstar3 Pitt's role was the most unique. No one was that opposite to the king these days. And he really existed. The thing is that he was so great and and nobody could kill him, so everyone thought he has a god's protection, and then the myth came. Achilles did not die because of the arrow in his leg but from the poison the arrow contained. How could someone like him die so simply? And that's why the myth states it as the only vulnerable part of his body. He really mattered.

  • @Cristalstar3 Hey, its Brad Pitt!

  • The ting i hate about this filmis that Menalaus dies.. He never died in the story.. He got helen back and sailed back to Greece. Also the trojans hid behind there walls the whole time. But it was still a great film the ending made me cry :(

  • eric bana was great.

  • is there no one else?!

  • Why do all the heros have to die? I love the movie but why does, Achilles have to die? I mean really...... He is my hero.

  • @morral1 I suppose deaths make the heroes even bigger. And Achilles's death is one of the most famous death in history!

  • @Psycho3418 No, the heroic deaths make the heroes bigger. If Achilles never went there, nobody would remember him. Back then what mattered was to be remembered after you have died.

  • @morral1 because he actually did die in real life

  • @morral1 Why did you have to spoil the movie, I love the movie, but why do you have to spoil the movie... I mean really... what a bitch

  • @morral1 You know, Sometimes some heroes die some countinue to live.

  • @morral1 you either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villian

  • @morral1 If Achllies is your hero you should be happy he died. He was probably your hero because he was awesome in fights and if hes awesome in fights you should be happy he died in glory rather than of age.

  • @bradhuygens Why? Dying of age is better for warriors as well.

  • @DamonArizona ya but Achillies went to the fight completely for glory and nothing else. He was completely aware that he was going to die during it and new it would be fate. So now it shows that he made a trade of Glory for life.

  • Good one

  • THis movie would probably have raked in more money if they showed Garrett Hedlund in the trailer....

  • everything because of Helen

  • go to ninednine.webs.com for a free troy download.

we also have many other free movie downloads and games

  • Sean Bean is one of the best actors ever, fucked up they didn't show him in the trailer (:

  • @mattsson20 Mhm. If they did everyone would be : aaaa! ORLANDO BLOOM! OOOOOOOOO BOROMIR!

  • @TheBumbleBunny Orlando Bloom is overrated ;D

  • @mattsson20 He's hawt xD

  • They'd probably get more people watching this if they mentioned Homer in the trailer

  • The only villain in this film was Paris, the Poof.

  • the only thing a man should fight for is the preservation of his own life or his wife or childrens life. if we all thought that way we wouldnt have wars : - D

  • This was a great movie! Thanks for posting!

'I won't ask you to fight my war.'

    'You already have.'

    EPIC!

  • This was a great movie! Thanks for posting!

  • why wont my post go through

  • why wont my fucking post go through?

  • hector should not have fought achilles. he let his people burn for his stupid pride.

  • for readers the movie might bother because its not the same, but gotta remember that all movies based on books are just an adaption........apart from that i love this movie its spectacular it made it to my top favorite movies

  • enjoy viewing this whole edition with this film from a+v+a+t+z.net remove +

  • Brad Pitt is just so hot oh my gosh!! :">

  • Brad Pitt is sooooo hot!!!

My name is Helena :D (so close to Helen)

  • someone knows the song from the begining to 0:33

  • la mejor pelicula

  • i love this movie :)

  • eric bana was the hottest guy in this movie , oh and orlando too..I hated brad pitt's character for killing eric bana..I cried w he died there!

  • OMG I ACTUALLY LOVE THIS FILM

but its sooo sad at the end!!

What film is better the one with Brad Pitt, Eric Bana, AND Orlando Bloom in?!?! <3 lol

  • Diane Kruger was BEAUTIFUL and HOT in this movie. I think this and Wicker Park are her best films, at least in my opinion anyway. She's not a bad actress either!

  • Orlando Bloom is very sexy in this movie. Well, he's sexy all the time, actually.

  • When I saw this movie for the first time, I didn't really like it because the historical inaccuracy bothered me... then I saw it for the second time, and when I stopped worrying about the history part, it was pretty good. Just view it as a different take (and perhaps even more correct take) on a classic story and you'll be able to enjoy it.

  • @stunnatime yes i know but it still bothers me a bit since i know the whole story and this doesnt have the correct information

  • @Val197698 . it does have the correct information.

  • I saw this movie for the first time about a month ago. AMAZING! BEAUTIFUL! and Brad is so sexy!

Watch this movie, you won't be disappointed!

  • people knock this movie so much...fuck what they say. i saw it and it was brilliant.

  • I am reading Troy right now...and there is a huge difference with the movie.

  • who wrote the book called troy???

  • homer wrote it. and it was called the iliad, not troy.

  • @dousethelightss The Iliad was not the whole story of the Trojan War but of the last years of it

  • @Val197698 i didn't say that it was though?

  • Homer. It was called, "the Illiad" and it was not a book but rather an epic poem of the story of Achilles and his supernatural fighting skill at Troy

  • @TheAlexander356 yes thats what it is but its spelled Iliad and it was about the last years of the trojan war and did you know that he also wrot the odyssey

  • @jazminedzialo its not called troy and this epic poem/story was writen by a blind greek man named homer a long time ago

  • ancient greece was hardcore man......

  • @Jesusfreak45731

All ancient men was hadcore not like now who men listen kesha and justin bieber...

  • @michoulalgerino ditto

  • @Jesusfreak45731 i would love to have lived there!!!!

  • 'Some were fought for land, some for power some for glory. I suppose fighting for love makes more sense than all the rest' <3 . I agree.

  • but I say, when the love you're fighting for is sacrificing your whole kingdom, it'd be a different story...

  • I get your point but it's better to sacrifice it for love than for power, money, fame (as it's happening nowadays). I would rather like to know that I was killed because my king (president) felt in love with some1 than to know I was killed because he wanted more economic power/military power and so on.

  • ah..I see what you're saying..

  • @pmlaura or you could say to president to sacrifice his love rather hen sacrifice thousands of families and there love to each other

  • @pmlaura Thats actually very wise and very true...

  • @pmlaura

So you're saying you'd rather die in a war fought because your king wants a certain princess, than in a war fought for economic or politcal stability?

    That doesn't make any sense.

  • @evaberlin

The only reason it came to that was because Agamemnon was a whiny pompous ass who had to have the woman who left him for another man and in doing so cost the lives of thousands of his men. I suppose starting a war that will be remembered until history no longer exists was worth the trouble. Not to mention Paris still had Helena(until he died that is) like Brad Pitt says in the movie" Everyone dies, whether today or fifty years from now."

  • @SpartanT48 Errr... no. Helen was wife of Menelaus not Agamemnon. Menelaus just asked help from Agamemnon to take vengeance. And it's not like he was a whiny pompous, people these days lived just to be remembered for years and years. So being remembered for losing his wife from Paris wouldn't be the best thing would it :p ? Anyway, the Trojan war was propably fought for economical reasons and not for Helen, that's just Homer's imagination so neither Iliad nor Odysey are historically accurate.

  • @pmlaura Ah but was it love?

  • @pmlaura they fought for power and money in the real troy

  • I saw this for the first time last night and I absolutely loved it!! It was just amazing and the battle scenes were very very good!

  • First time ever the Greeks united...Great movie

  • yes my friend...and one of the very few in history

  • This is a brilliant trailer. It's what made me want to see the film (when I was too young to see it).

  • Anyone know the music from the beggining?

  • Movie was ssiickkk

  • love this trailer, one of my favs

  • I think the music at the end is called colonna sonora (and yeah it is great). The video by orlibloompie which is also called troy trailer has the music.Great vid.

  • What's the music in the end, it's awesome!

  • Great video.

    Thanks for uploading this.

    Troy is a great film!
