  • motor is out....found a donor car

  • really nice car ! i am jealus right now ..lol

  • Installed turndowns last year. The car is quieter believe or not...but sounds good. Gonna add a new video soon.

I might put this motor in another car and make this one more of a cruiser so I can drive it to work, etc and not break the bank on gas money.

  • What did you record with??? My sound quality is pittiful!

  • SWEETNESS!!! I LOVE IT!!! I HOPE MY BUICK 455 RUNS A SMOOTH.

  • Avesome car !! What cam are you using??

  • @goregrind666666

Thanks. Comp Cam solid flat tappet.

  • @nitrous383 I LOVE IT, MAN!!!!!!!

  • These malibus were just kinda like everyday economy cars im not sure why people are acting like there hotrods lol.

  • You're right! Economy car is an understatement. The car has the original 140 horse 305 in it.

  • @nitrous383 The reason people think they are hot rods is they are perfect to build into a hot rod...will take the big engines and they have a strong little body which will handle the power...nuff said...

  • @JokerRIPLedger

people 'act' like these are hot rods because its simple as fuck to put a real motor in these cars .. there old school 80's chevys which almost all had v8 options and are lightweight, decent looking boxy cars. Shove a real v8 in them and they move

  • @JokerRIPLedger

can you not hear that badass small block

  • @JokerRIPLedger so the novas from the 60s that were factory v6 cars arent supposed to be made into rods? shows how smart you are dumbass!

  • @JokerRIPLedger just look at it.......

  • @JokerRIPLedger maybe back in 79 it was an econobox but compared to tadays pos "cars" it is a hotrod

  • @JokerRIPLedger thats the whole point. look at all these dudes with the imports. 9 out of ten of those cars ran 17's and had about 120 horse stock. these malibus were the last full frame chevelles. i know a dude runs a junkyard, crushed 10 of these a day back in the 80's. he said if he can find just a clean pair of doors now hed get at least 850.00 good platform to build on.

  • thanks guys

  • Amazing car, what is the shot of nitrous? hp all motor and hp tih nitrous? i love them, CONGRATULATIONS!

  • these cars are badass. ive owned a '78 and an '80 malibu. wished i kept my '80 malibu.

  • My 79 is a 4 door...wish it was a 2 door.

  • Sounds Good just sitting there .

  • ive seen your car in brooklyn on the sunset stip, i got a muscle car becuase of yours

  • exelent!!!!!!!!!!! beauti sound!!!!!

  • flowmaster 40?

  • 40 Series Delta flows

  • Millas chechi...!!!

  • thanks guys.

  • DAMN MAN THATS HELLA NICE!!!!

i HAVE A 79 MALIBU CLASSIC MYSELF,BUT MINE IS THE ONLY ONE I'VE SEEN WITH A LEATHER TOP.

  • Hey I have a 78 Malibu with a leather top.

  • Rice killer !!!!!!!

  • lol LOOK at you so proud!! lmfao dude im the same way man!!! smiles:) look at what i did! i love it! cool ride bro 5 STARS!!!!! but i cant do it becuse you dis the rateings :(

  • nice car.

  • the car would sound alot better with some turn downs on them flowmasters.

  • thought about it. still might do it.

  • have you ever headr pf spin tek exhaust?? a likl pricy but the best low rumble you can buy!!

  • yep, I have heard of Spintech. Do you know what kind of flow numbers they produce?

  • ya do it dude! i have them and it kicks up a little dust and the look and sound is a tad better! :) but ya might get some drone :( drill some holes in the turn downs if ya get the drone!

  • plus ya get a little kick up of dust wich is cool looking!!! shows the high compresion :)

  • Very nice...i have a 79 chevy malibu looks exactly like this, just trying to get a better sound out of it.

  • Why are people bothering with 383 strokers? For same effort you can have a 415 small block. Speed o Motive has the stroker kit. And the 400 is still around.

  • Everyone has their own situation/preference I guess. I had the motor already so I just made some changes to make it a little better. It runs well and I'm happy with it.

  • I'll do you one better. Put a 3.8 LC2 motor in there and walk the dog on big blocks.

  • ya gotta do better than that???

  • nice motor. I just finished a 355 .30 over build and I'm about to start on a 383. Did you have to do any machining to the 350 block? I'll be dropping it into a 1982 Camaro. Thanks for the input.

  • Thanks. Yes the block will need to be clearanced for the rods. Any reputable machine shop can handle that easily and in a short turnaround.

    Good luck with your build!

  • Gorgeous car. I inherited the family '79 when I was in college. It was four door but probably the best highway car I've ever had. I sold it for 500 bucks after the transmission began acting up and I kick myself now.

  • Thanks!! 2 doors or four, these are cool cars. Buy another one!

  • is it a soild or roller?

  • It's a solid flat tappet.

  • What duration and lift cam are u running in there?!? that has a nice idle.

  • .520"/.540"

    244/252 @050

    relatively small cam....

  • When did .520/.540 and 244/252 become a small cam? That's bigger than the 502ho cam.

  • I said it is a relatively small cam. Granted it is a decent size for a street car (which is what this is), but believe me, this cam is relatively small compared to what a lot of guys run....

  • nice car! what size rear tires? did you have to notch the rear?

  • Thanks. They are 28x11.5x15 M/T's. Didn't have to touch the frame, just had to use wheel spacers and they fit right in. The driver's side will rub very, very slightly on left turns, especially because I run low air pressure in them. If you plan on going 28x12.5, then you'll most likely have to notch the frame.

  • Damn grannys malibu has some power now!!!

  • lol....actually you're right. I am the second owner and bought it from an 85 year-old woman back in '97. It was a 305 4 bbl with a 2.28 rear. I ran it when I first bought it and it went 17.0. lol...

  • Haha yeah the 305 was never really known for its performance - but you fixed that problem on your 'Bu! Those 305 engines are super reliable though my uncle had one in his old '84 bonneville and it lasted almost 300,000 miles. I guess when you only have 150 horsepower theres really not a whole lot to go wrong lol

  • Sick.

  • Nice sounding idle.

    Malibu's have no equal....

    ohhhh yeah chevy!!!

  • bro has a 80 bu witha 305, niiice ride man

  • that is a sweet ride!!!

  • thanks man...

  • nice, i have a 78 455 bigblock, sssooooo custom, very fast, very LOUD. side dual 4" pipes, ive got pumps hooked to a toggle under seat that folds down plates, 2 battery for stereo (both hooked to alternator on toggle) 79 rear end, re done interior, lots of plexy glass and neons. only thing, its a 4dr, but it a corvette killer! check it out.

  • Nothing wrong with a 4 door malibu and I have a 502 in it lol

  • The kid in the video taking out the trash is now a NYS Trooper. He always chats with me when I work on the car. Good thing I was nice to him! :-)

  • how much hp does it have

  • not enough.. ;-)

  • ya i have 2 and a half inch flowies in my 79

  • Hey nitro.. great car man... this is MalibuMan1979.. (my malibu reving). Mine is a mild 350 w/350 trans. I am planning a 383 build this winter.. we will see. love your pipes, (flowmasters?). any way ,'G cars rock'...

  • Thanks man. Lots of hard work there. Yeah they are two-chamber 3" flows. 383's are a great combo for little money.

  • I love that Malibu. I had 2 '79's like it. If I ever redo a car that will be what I want to do.

    Nice work. :)

  • Thanks man....

  • nice. mine's an 80 landau classic with a 4 barrel 305. the muffler fell off a few weeks back, sounds pretty sweet without it haha might just leave it like that and put a pipe out the back.

  • thanks! Mine was a 305 4 barrel. Ran 17.0's with 2.29 gears! lol....

  • nice car my dad has the 79 malibu landau classic its pretty sweet but only rockin a 305 but she gotta four barrel carb so it sounds pretty good

  • thanks. GBodies rock! Good luck with your Bu!
