ive been shed hunting in wisconsin for over 4 years and ive only found 2 antlers. i think im competing with a bunch of other shed hunters but it is frustrating now but i keep trying. wisconsin blows. i hear montana has GREAT shed hunting places.
i'm from indiana so the're all whitetails! ya ive prolly had my best season so far, but i like how you do your videos! i was wondering how much time u spend looking for sheds? and how many you find in a season? the only problem looking for horns around my area is that i live real close to illinois forest preserves so there's always other guys out walking the same area your walking so id say im pretty lucky to have found that many!
I spend as much time as I can 3 or 4 days a week and usually end up hiking around for a good 6 hours a day. This year has been really good numders wise, I usually find 15 to 20 on a average year but the last few years it seems to be getting better and better.
i've been going since jan 16th and i have so far found 13 horns so far! the biggest was a 156 inch set of a 10 pointer, and some other big ones that scored between 135 and 150..
I live in iowa on the illinois borderline...i know there is deer where im checking cause when we ran past a field we seen bout 3 in 1 area n 4 in a area on the other side n fresh droppings also...me n some of my buddys are going here about noonish this sat morning hoping to find some...is it common to look under pine n oak trees for antlers? And do they also sometimes stick there antlers in the dirt??Also is it wise to walk the same trails we did today or wait a day or two n look on trail again?
Looking under trees is a good idea any were the deer can bed down out of the wind and snow is a good spot to look.I would say most bucks have already dropped their antlers so I would walk different trails.Antlers can fall off and stick up in the snow or dirt but I dont think they do it on purpose.
Me n a pal went he got his first ever set by a fence line 1 was out there n the other was a footstep from it but i still have yet to find mine we got woods all around my house n he just told me bout deer shedding n i like to hike but i dunno the time of the yr to go.I hear end of march but i dunno
I planned to go look for sheds tomorrow and what do you know. It snowed 4 inches last night and is currently still snowing. I am going anyway so maybe I will have a video clip to post on here. F&%king snow.
I can't tell you how nice it is to see someone sharing their shed hunting experiences on here. Finding a shed is almost as good as sticking an arrow in a big buck! Thanks again for sharing.

It would help if you said what type of animal the sheds are from - they look like Mulie, but they are very dark...
