@jeffly1500 noo, he forgot to flare, after the flight, i asked the captain wether it was an ifr fault, or an manual fault, he said:"i was landing manualy, and i didn't calculate the height right, so i flared to late."
No, Rotterdam the Hague Airport has got a small runway. So when you are comming in with a heavy plane there is not really much time to flare this plane.
@jeffly1500 From your screen-name, I am going to assume you are a pilot, so instead of arguing, I want to konw which airline is it that advising it's pilots to go with no flare for sake of caring more people? :) An experienced pilot can make soft touch on the most shortfield landing. I really see no excusie in intentionally slamming the plane on the runway the way it's done on this video!
@jeffly1500 Also, as a pilot myself, i am not blaming the pilot. All of us have had our own hard landings either due to last second distraction, or windhsear, or decreased airpseed/incureas vs and lack of elevator authority, but I really really never would intentionally let the plane hit the ground like this. A firm landing during gusty conditions - maybe. Full blown 2G+ touchdown? never :)
@armanys2003 The landing was firm, indeed. But you can't judge what the weather was like by seeing this video. Obviously the PF did flare, otherwise it would have resulted in a -750 fpm landing or so. I think that the landing is that hard actually , I have seen and experienced worse ;)
@jeffly1500 Haha. I just checked your profile, now I see that you aren't a pilot(at least not an ATP). I used to fly sims too, believe me as cool as the sime is the real thing is a bit better and different..
@jeffly1500 this isn't a heavy plane, and the hague gives the plane half a runway to flare, and even then it will be in time to stop before reaching the end of the runway....
Whats flare?? Has that got to do with the localizers on the side of the runway?

And what is bad about it? The only thing i see is a textbook landing :)

So it doesnt mean its a bad landing. And he flared a bit. But you will see these landings all the time at EHRD because it isnt a very long runway.

@jeffly1500 It's a textbook landing if you are trying to hit the carier decik, not a the runway pavement.
