I looked up what kind of song was at number one in the music charts, it was Doris Day with Secret love. Now i understand why i still am touched by her wonderfull voice , it brings me back to my younger days, fills me up with faith and memory. Thank you Doris , for making the world more beautifull..
The songs remind me of days gone by, nostalgic as they are all beautiful, reminds me of my loved ones, living or departed, we shared the same music. . .
This song reminds me of my grandad who i loved more than anything :). My grandad loved doris Day and this song, I will never forget you grandad I'll love you allways.
What a voice! She sounds like butter tastes and velvet feels.Very, very few singers have managed to get this sound.Carol Carpenter springs to mind, but can you imagine anyone on X Factor coming even close, and not winning by a landslide? And this is from someone who likes heavy metal!I can't remember a time when I didn't love Doris's voice.
wow...she is up there with the best...now she is in her 80's and still living and does no tv work,,,,she loves animals and helps a lot of them,,,she does look good for her age,,,,she is an unforgettable star,,,and everything she has ever done will be remebered ,,,,,enjoy your retirement,,,,,,,this is your time now...and thanks for everything you have left us,, xxx
YOu know she was ALWAYS talking aobut Rock hudson,,, But no matter what his heart was still with Doris, but his life with a man. I am 42 and will always love her singing.
love her, love her, so many memories, such nostalgia. simply love her.to coin an much used phrase that in this case says it all ``there will never be another `` love her, love her....................jack reed ..........xx
Thanks Doris............that's not enough for all the entertainment you've provided....but it's all I can do. What a beautiful talent, from a beautiful lady.
Very nicely done with the pictures added. Doris is a sweetheart as we all know. I like that you hear every single word she says and she enunciates perfectly.
I love Doris Day, her music, her movies and her personality. I recently attended a show here in Australia by a country singer Melinda Schnieder, (she was not trying to impersonate Doris) but told her life story and sang her songs. Melinda is a big fan of Doris and a wonderful singer in her own right and she did a fantastic show. If you type in Melinda Schnieder does Doris Day I'm sure you'll enjoy her interview.
" even told the golden daffodils ?" Must have been another age for this half-baked song to become a hit. Still love Doris Day though, beautiful lady ! I used to love her talk show as a teenager with my mom. Loved it.
@AcryforhelpAaahhh It was another age....a much better one. And this song is in no way "half baked." I wish the crap that comes out today sounded like this.
@UKbowman Thanks very much for your information. I'd just heard Kathy Kirby's version and that's what I'd been looking for ages. Doris Day's version was excellent too.
What a wonderful person, performer Doris Day is...How I have enjoyed her in my 60 plus years. She is a role model that I wish more young people today followed.
What is SO INSPIRATIONAL - about Doris Day ... She didn't go into seclusion (Privacy / Oblivion - as so many her peers did) ... She has continued to Act ~~ and continuing to make a great job of it ~~ CHEERS To CALAMITY JANE!!!
What is inspirational to me ~~ Is that - She did not just *"Fall off (a figurative) Cliff into SECRECY/ PRIVACY (oblivion) like so many of her generation of stars. She is STILL ACTING ~&~ doing a good job of it!
This song brought tears to my eyes when I heard this version for the first time in a long time. It would be ideal for a character like the Old West stagecoach driver Charley Parkhurst; the song could be sung by her lover when he comes back to her on her deathbed in 1877 to take her to Heaven.
Hello, Thank you greatly for letting me be able to share real music with my children. Music today is just not real. I wish it had the emotion and feeling of what was once The good ol' days. Thanks again by the way im only 34 but I consider myself born to late ha ha.
