weird that you left in the parts with the woman who wouldn't take off her jacket and her getting scolded by your teacher. kind of undermined your whole messege of self improvement and spiritual growth, instead showing immaturity.
Hi, can anybody sugest me a place in china to train shaolin kung fu. For me both spiritual and physikal training are as important. I really want to learn Shaolin not wu-shu.
I intend to train for two months and I am ready to train as hard as I ever did. Iam as well very interested in Chan Buddhism, to learn or more to experience; attentiveness and humility. Therefore I think to train with monks would be ideal.
most kung fu schools in china dont offer any kind of spiritual training. you can have the most amazing trip of your life if you go to intensively learn kung fu and you will probably experience something spiritual from that naturally, but if you go expecting to find amazing teachers who are gonna train you and be your guru then you will likely be massively dissappointed.
remember the kung fu schools are businesses and they will try and get as much money from you as possible.
sadly if you do not wish to learn wushu then theres is little to nothing you will find in china. what is practiced at shaolin now is wushu, remember that it was taken over by the government during the cultural revolution and wasn't restored until foreign interest spiked from movies. as for the buddhism, hard to say. Again it is under government control and according to general Mao, religion is poison. get yourself a copy of Da Mo's teachings, you can find it at Barnes and Noble.
there are some who know the true forms from what my Sifu told me but for the most part christopher is right. The few who know the true shaolin kung fu keep it hidden moreso than you can imagine because the government loves wu shu, not true kung fu. You will sadly find more legit kung fu in the states because of how many masters feld during the cultural revolution.
it looks like she has O.C.D. [obsessive compulsive disorder] with how she dresses, and refusing to take a camera/coat off when she trains perhaps? so he was yelling as she was continually haggling/buying things . . . making the trip take longer/less things to see - i assume.
This comment is pretty much dead on. I was on that trip. On a trip that was supposed to be about helping each other out to achieve, that person was acting extremely selfishly and only for her own self interest.
