This song will always remind me of the summer of 2008 when and Dave and me used to drive from Manhattan to Long Island and vice versa,..and listening to Del Amitri on the stereo and singing em songs. I always thought this should have been called Like Spit in the Rain, as some people hear a song but they don't really listen to it and each time like spit it the rain is mentioned, it has a different meaning, from symbolising a man barely being noticeable anymore, to a past love lost, to memories being washed away, and all are just like spit in the rain.......it has nothing to do with someone actually spitting in the rain.
