I think these guys were from Port Republic, NJ? I went to Pleasantvile ,HS, from 1066-70, The Red Coats played in the school auditorium, & I heard that they were going to tour with Hermin's Hermit's. ...Randy Boecelle? I used to go to the Rum Point Pub in Brigantine around '73 & they were Monarch?
I have the single for "not now" and it blows the house away with that guitar solo. A real gem! It's one of only 4 songs on the LP written by the original band (jon Spirt)
Man O Man the Sidekicks and Suspicions.. what a great song..I was about 13 when I first heard it.. went out bought the 45... and proceeded to wear it out....these guys never got there due...if they would have been given a chance they would have been big.....I found a cd of various one hit wonders with Suspicions on it ....grabbed it right up..if I'm having a bad day I can play this song and somehow it gets a little better....Thanks Sidekicks
Thank you for this posting. Brought back memories. They also did a nice version of the classic Up on the Roof, as I recall. Any chance of posting that?
Cool sounds from another group on RCA that was deserving of greater promotion. I had heard of them before but not their music. MRC has done a fine job of resurrecting their music here and i hope that they get the kind of attention that they really deserve.
I hope yu have all your videos saved along with their descriptions? after what happened to "45Junkie"? He had 368 videos uploaded, and YouTube suspended his account, why can't they just e-mail him and ask for certain videos some coporate has complained about to be taken down, rather than wiping his whole account! I think the bands you are showing would be very grateful for the exposure you are giving them after all these years! Keep up the good work, and thanks again.
@numpty1972 - Gee, that sucks, YouTube should be less heavy-handed about the videos and get on some of these posters who are really nasty. I'm convinced that when Yahoo shut down their comment boards, all the nasty people came over to YouTube.
do you actually have Fifi the Flea by the Sidekicks?

The Sidekicks were great!! I "dated" Zack (the one in the light blue shirt) for a month or so in the 60's.... his voice was fantastic!!
