You said that repeating a commad will make a dog learn quicker, and as an up and coming dog trainer, that statement is false. It only confuses the dog if you say the command over and over.
@DelDogLuvr If you do it correctly, it will not confuse them. You can tell them the command repetitively when they are doing what you want and it will help to ensure that they know the command. However, IF you tell them the command while they are doing something you do not want then yes, it will confuse them because you are saying the command but then punishing. If done properly, however, if will not confuse them. I have been training dogs since i was 7 years old and i know how to read their
@DelDogLuvr body language and i know when to and when not to say it. I have been around dogs my whole life and am dedicated to them 100%. It will work if you do it correctly, but if an amateur tries to do it, they may confuse the dog. Thank you for your comment. :) I enjoyed your input.
thedogaddict, basenji not really a show dog(old world breed) meaning she
understands you but doesn't want to. My basenji enter in contests and she
didn't like at all. Sheba could do tricks real easy, play dead, shake, etc.. but
all she wanted was to go for walks.
