why do Some Brass Quintet's use a Bass Trombone over a Tuba? I Believe a tuba gives off a much more brass sound and gives the group beautiful notes

some quintets use a bass trombone for a lighter sound. With a bass trombone it gives the arranger 4 like sounds to work with (cylindrical instruments) and allows the horn to be the countering mellow sound. Nice colors.

Heh, I recently learned that Synergy is based out of the town right next to mine, and that they use the church my parents go to for rehearsing (they love the acoustics I hear?).

I read in a program that I chanced upon that they are going to be performing at that church on christmas eve! I'm not a protestant, but that's a service I don't want to miss hehe. I'm going to have to find out when they practice I think and listen in :-p
