this is a beautiful song that BeBe winans wrote for Stephanie Mills she brought the house down with her powerful vocals in this song thankyou for the video of I was born for this #get it girl
*My covenant was with him, a covenant of life and peace, and I gave them to him; this called for reverence and he revered me and stood in awe of my name.
Stephanie, I love you so much. You are still the most beautiful person I've ever laid eyes on. Not only that, your music has touch me deeply for so many years. Your voice is still amazing. I can remember sitting in front of the t.v. watching your videos and just being mesmerized by everything you put out. There are no artists today who can touch you. Loving you always and forever. Oh, that audience seemed to be hating on you--what a shame. Everyone should have been on their feet.
"I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. S o then because you are lukewarm, & neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out My mouth.
I wouldn't say that. When I listen to that song, I think of Mary (Mother of Jesus) and what was going through her mind when she learned her purpose. Do you think it's okay to sing about godly principles or scripture? What about bible stories or characters? Do you know your purpose in life? Why were you created?
The song starts: Looking back in retrospect, funny how I see. The laughs and frowns, the ups and downs... It's part of destiny. She's talking about childhood memories and growing up.
Maybe, you are right. Maybe this song is not for baby Christians because someone grounded in the Word would know 1 Corinthians 13:11 -- "When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me."
@gospelhouse - THANK YOU not only for this video but for your responses to Carbin15. There's always at least 1 person in the crowd who is too spiritually "deep" for any earthly good.
@erick122 I know what you mean. Some "Christians" learn two scriptures and think that gives them the authority to judge and condemn folks to hell. They miss the point; we were put here together to edify and help one another. Thank you for the encouragement.
I agree. The song was written by Bebe Winans. In the video, Bebe comments on how he had planned to sing the song with Stephanie but after listening to her, there was nothing he could do with it.
this performance is simply amazing...only stephanie mills can deliver...and her note at the end...so amazing...i love stephanie mills...born for this...she is truly born to sing...
The funny thing is that you can hear the similarities in tone between Stephanie and Oleta Adams...you can tell that they've both had that vocal training...like Stephanie is a soprano version of Oleta. Does anybody else hear that?
A friend of mine went to a Stephanie Mills concert back in the early to mid 90's, And she said Stephanie sang Oleta Adams song Get Here. I remember comparing them both myself, I think Oleta Adams is gospel now i havn't seen her nor Stephanie in a long time.

Why are you confused? Are you familiar with contemporary gospel music?

O gospel that does not refference Jesus or God i got it.

It sounds nice, but praying to Jesus & wishing upon a star as this song suggest is 2 different things. Thats why i was confused, it don't add up.
