i believe pigeon hole is a term used to describe a form of stereo-typing E.G. there is a black man leaving your house when you've just been robed and you assume he did it even know he was calling the cops or you meet someone who likes singing and dancing and HSM etc and you assume that they are gay a more common one would be seeing someone who's fat and assuming they are lazy, you put that person in a hole with everyone else you believe to be like them altho the pigeon part i'm not sure
