The pill will not make you infertile, but it does have some side effects. You could look into other options, like IUD's (which despite what some doctor's say, are possible for childless women).

Hey, please don't torture yourself over it. chances are good your eggs were never fertilized, and that is was just a precaution. Some women take months to get pregnant even without any contraception. Even if they were, they were at the very, very early stages, before the eggs was able to nestle into your womb and grow. You shouldn't feel guilty.

Birth control pills, if taken for extended periods of time, can make you infertile because they basically trick your body into thinking it is pregnant so that you produce no eggs. This can be permanent if your body chemistry is right and you take them over extended periods (punn intended)

Usually this "infertility" is temporary and returns back to normal after about 6 months after stopping hormonal birth control. The implants are indeed trickier, as in some women they migrate and it becomes impossible to find (and it keeps pumping hormones, thus preventing pregnancy). However, if her intention is to take the pill for a few years before conceiving, it's fairly safe (though yes, it's medication)

Birth control pills, if taken for extended periods of time, can make you infertile because they basically trick your body into thinking it is pregnant so that you produce no eggs. This can be permanent if your body chemistry is right and you take them over extended periods (punn intended)

Unbroken, It's rare, so rare that I actually had to go read up on it to find it.
Usually this "infertility" is temporary and returns back to normal after about 6 months after stopping hormonal birth control. The implants are indeed trickier, as in some women they migrate and it becomes impossible to find (and it keeps pumping hormones, thus preventing pregnancy). However, if her intention is to take the pill for a few years before conceiving, it's fairly safe (though yes, it's medication)

Do you not understand human anatomy. Women are born with a set number of eggs. It is men who make sperm over the course of their lives. Birth control does nothing to the number of eggs. Cancer, scar tissue, STDs can you make you infertile, not an extra dosage of estrogen. I have a dose of Plan B on hand, and the only thing it says on the package about after fertilization is it may inhibit implantation. It doesn't even say for sure that it does. It just says it may.

It shouldn't be treated as lightly as a "morning after pill"....and it also shouldn't be misrepresented as an "abortion pill". It does not cause abortion - it prevents conception.

I hope I know what I'm talking about since I'm a pharmacist. I have never heard Plan B being given after 5 days. Do you even know how Plan B works? The mechanism would tell you you're wrong.

I read a medical article recently that had a graph which suggested that if the pills were taken within 1 day, there was a 10% chance that the mechanism was post conception, whereas by the third day it was 90%. Sorry, but I should have saved it and can't find it now. I'll keep trying. Of course, nobody knows for sure..
The study, and others like it, are not fuzzy at all. I think there are just some facts that people don't want to read or know. There are plenty of other studies also.

People can openly criticize christianity because it is the mainstream, "default" religion, at least where i live anyway. If you criticize muslim extremism in a modern country where there are more muslims (like egypt) it would be the same thing.
