Primal Park is BRILLIANT - the pop Mondo were nothing like that & this song, with others like Livin In The land of Oz, from the Oz sound track is brilliant - many a year of using it as a teaching tool in Aust History amongst other things. I have the Pop Mondo albums but they're not a patch on the rock of Primal Park - Searchin' For My BABY!
I bought Primal Park years about 4 years after it was released on account of discovering Daddy Cool. i liked some of the songs- But unlike Daddy Cool, there was nothing remote, cool or sexy about it (or them). It was like the new-wave, punk, ska stuff that blew it all away maybe because the latter's styles were more detached, . Looking back I can see how well-played these tuneful, seemingly honest and well crafted pop songs were.
I think the two guitarists were in a band called Fox, I uploaded their album if you want to see a picture of them in the band. Yeah, I'm advertising in one of your videos again.. I hope you don't mind, Don't you know me, I'm the fugitive kind. ;)
Hi ryan, Still trying to draw paralels between this and Daddy Cool: this is Sports-like to me. Also tres-chic for the era. I think I found LRB's bassist!!!
Till now I didnt know the song had charted, but pleased it did 'cause it`s a gem. Underrated gem.

I love this "lost" track, this classic, this masterpiece, more than words can adequately say!

One (or two) of them played in an early 70's band called Sun - a band that launch a few successful careers.

Hey Keith,
Yeah, I know what you mean about the Sports comparison. In fact, I thought this sounded a bit like Dragon.
nzoz1978 3 years ago
not only sounded, but the video itself looks very Dragon'ish too
