Just wondering why you believe that the Bible is the word of God? Because you were taught that as a child? or because you researched the Bible? I can tell you without a doubt that the Bible you read is a complete work of fiction taken from older stories over 1500-2000 years before Jesus! Please look up "Gods Like Jesus" and you will find over 30 "Gods" with the same story as Jesus but written much sooner then the Bible!
Someone mentioned a concern about a dress code. It is true, that some churches promote certain attire, and it is true that people of different races are not made to feel comfortable, in some churches, etc. Not all churches are like that. What I got from the video, is that there are good churches out here, and you just need to make a effort to fit in, and you will. Good video. My suggestion. Don't go to bad churches. Go to good churches.
@socksumi , I had been hard-core atheist for 25 years. Then, one day something happened I cannot explain in words. It is something you either hate or love. like marmite. It is something that chooses you, if and when the time is ripe. I like other people more now and love them more especially when they are different and we disagree.
@14margott I could say far more go the other way and lose their faith after years of introspection and carefully considering the nature of what they believed. Remarkably, this sometimes happens to clergy. The general consensus is that once they have overcome the initial anxiety and insecurities as part of adjusting to their newly found atheism, there is real sense of elation and liberation.---and a feeling that life is a whole lot more valuable because it IS fleeting.
@socksumi@socksumi thank you for your reply, yes, I partly understand what you are saying about the adjustment period, it depends on how people let God work in their former lives as Christians and fill in the God-Shape void (to quote Paschal).
@14margott Well, I completely disagree that non-believers have a void for not believing in the Christian god Yahweh---any more than Christians have for not believing in Allah or Zeus, or Wotan or Thor or Hodd or the Hindu gods or the Juju in the mountain.
You are as much an atheist with respect to those gods and so am I. We properly consider them myth and superstition. The only difference is that my atheism goes one god further than your atheism.

Church is for wimpy girly men. If I saw these two I could explain how big of a waste church really is.

Why I don't go to church: It's boring and pointless for me.
