Randy Rhoads had a fraction of Vai's technical ability and theoretical learning yet if you listen to crazy train after hours on youtube he plays with GIANT GOBS of feeling , you can practically cut each note with a knife and eat it. The tasteful arrangement of notes is more important than technique... you either have it or you dont.. SRV has it, Al DiMeola has it,
