  • You can just pull the trigger without pulling the hammer when you do this you can pull on the tigger a little and it will not shoot. If you pull the hammer back this give you a hair line tigger so it does not give you and lee way. When I first used a revolver I did not pull the hammer.

  • Because they are inexperienced with the longer pull of double action mode. If u r gonna use this type of revolver for home/self defense, you NEED to practice DA!!! What are u gonna do if u need to shoot someone? Sit there and cock the hammer before u shoot? If he's armed, ur dead.

  • why do many people cock the hammer?cant u just use the trigger?

  • My dad has a .38 policemen special and I thinking of either getting an old styled .357 or a double barrel shotgun. I'm stuck on which to get.

  • Why so much D.Eagle hate guys...

  • @stealthbeast probably because the Desert Eagle is so powerful it sends something like an electric shock up to your elbow. I'm a small woman, that's my opinion.

  • desert eagle is lame.. too expensive and i would never trust my life to it

  • was that a 38 short, long or special?

  • @NinjaOfTinFoil special

  • Y IS HE COCKIN THE HAMMER BACK AFTER EVERY SHOT IF THE WAS A SHOOT OUT HE WULD BE DEAD

  • its a bad boy gun. and to be honest its not as forgiving as a 9mm, so you gotta be accurate with the .38/ .357. CHECK THIS VID: /watch?v=iv1gsWWMWV8 that kid has a wide variety and even shows his target sheets to show the difference

  • Im 14 and my dad took me to a shooting range for the first time today and I shot a .38 revolver and omg i just love it!!!

  • i wanna buy a 38 before they ban them in california!! like so many other great guns

  • @SHAIAz96

Words can't express my sympathy for you guys.

  • @stealthbeast ya thanks

  • @stealthbeast

You cant own many guns in Cali, but this November marijuana will be legal, YAY!

I cant wait to see the stoned people get knocked the fuck out by a guns kick-back.

  • @DrPsilocybin It won't pass, it has already been defeated in the polls.

  • @SHAIAz96 I hate cali and my home town chicago, there anti gun big time and you wonder why they have to most crime, then other states like Florida and other states where they have CCW for the law abiding citizens, one reason why I moved from Chicago to Florida for my right to bear arms and in my area where I live its peaceful and no crime, Why? because every in this area has ccw permit to carry unlike the asshole states cali and chicago where criminals get to mug you and all they can do is nothi

  • @SHAIAz96 why they banning .38s?

  • @konkrete19 Just cause cali is like that. There banning as many guns as possible. We can thank the Democrat Liberals for that.

  • I hope to by a 38. I better before they ban those to here in cali!!

  • got damn you can tell the difference

  • Wow

your dad sucks ass, i shot whit that weapon and i had 2 time 7, 1 time 8, en 3 9.

But how old are u guys?

    and where did you shoot?

    Nice Vid!!

    5/5

  • lol the .577 tyrannosaur is nothing compared to a 7.0x3 Hamstraw, thats a pink skinned heavy hitter

  • And .600 nitro is nothing compared to a .577 tyrannosaur

I JUST noticed this great wall of rage in my vid Wtf.

Different guns for different people and different situations guys. The Desert Eagle is overrated in media, but it's under-rated in actual practice. Sure it's not PRACTICAL, but what magnum caliber handgun is? And really, all most of us will ever do with our handguns is shoot paper... So really, the FUN of a gun is probably the most important part, of which I think the Eagle does fine.

  • no shit, well the .50 cal is nothing compared to a .600 nitro express magnum. That will knock the hair off your whisker biscuit

  • 357 is nothing compared to 50 cal

  • nobody cares about a fucking 50 cal, you and you fucking call of duty desert eagle fanboys....*sigh*

  • Comment removed

  • You illiterate son of a bitch. I did not mention this Call of duty you speak of. I knew of the Desert Eagle since it came into production, and i KNOW it's more powerful than the fucking .357 so relax.

  • Yeah its more powerful than a .357. but a .357 is realistic and more practical when it comes to self defense/home defense so on...

  • true, but also a glock .40 or 45 / 9mm is even more practical, so...

  • hey, the .357 is my fav pistol in call of duty 5. . yeah fuck the .50 cals. theyre totally overrated.

  • ikr lol

  • @directorbeau 50 cal is gay as fuck. have fun blowing thousands of dollars on an unreliable gun that will probably get you killed

  • that was a good group dude for your first time.

when i shot my dad's .38/.357 my first target was me getting used to it and the second target was just rapeage i had a really tight group

  • MAN U GOT GOOD AiM GOOD LUCK

  • ahha i think it moved less on ur mom

  • The .357 Isn't scary at all.. A .44 packs a wallop

I prefer large caliber revolvers and I'm planning on trying a .500 S&W next week I just hope that I dont break my skinny lil wrists

  • Yeah, this was my first magnum round.

I have no problem 1 handing .454s at this point lol

I always wanted to try the .500 S&W though! Have fun with that!

  • i got shot in the leg with a 9mm 2 years ago when i was 15...not fun

  • 0_o ouch man.

Now, I wasn't there so I can't speak too much, but be sure to stay safe, and shoot only around others that stay safe as well.

  • well ive fired a colt 45 9mm 38 special and a .22 i dont like firing powerful guns there just not fun for me.if anyone is thinking of getting a .38 get the 357 magnum its a 7 shot revolver that can also shoot .38 special bullets u get alot more for your money.and dont get a light pistol i wzs at the gun range and the whole thing broke in half!

  • Not all .357 magnums are 7 shot (Most are 6 shots). I dunno where you got that..

Not all light pistols break (Most don't..). That's an extreme generalisation based on 1 situation.

There's a rare, but select number of models from certain companies that are infamous for breaking. You must've either shot one of these faulty guns (Which do NOT represent all light guns), or an extremely abused weapon.

  • Try cocking the hammer with your left hand, that way you don't have to re-grip the gun when you cock it.

  • Actually, the other way around. You cock it with your right for consistency. The more consistant your grab your gun each time, the more accurate you can develop yourself.

Cocking with the left hand is for speed, and the only time cocking the hammer with the left hand will allow for consistency is if you hold it with your left hand's thumb behind the hammer (Which I don't do, not finding it comfortable, and being double-jointed)

least that's what I was taught

  • its a single or double action revolver?

  • Double, but I was firing it single.

You can usually tell if a revolver is single action by the hammer and the trigger. The hammer is usually recurved, and it will have a hairtrigger.

  • Nice to see you pulled in the targets to see the results.

  • Jesus christ, my accuract was atrocious in this video. I need to upload a new one lol.

I'm making 6 inch diameter groupings at 5 yards XD

  • Have you had the chance to shoot the 45 ACP and compare it to the 357? I like the idea of a powerful revolver that can also take my 45 ACP bullets if need be.

  • Oh yeah

Huge difference. There's a complete difference between the .45acp and the .357 magnum.

The .357 has so much more kick to it than the .45. Not rediculous, but its alot more. .45acp isn't anything like a magnum round.

    Thats just me though.

  • Check to see if you have any ranges that let you rent firearms.

We only own a 22lr but we frequently rent guns from the range we go to.

    I've fired .22lr 9mm 38special .45acp .357 .44mag .454 .50ae and I tried a shotgun once with 12guage federal slugs.

For home defense, I'd say that 12 guage shotgun was a good bet, but as far as handguns go, .45acp seems to be the one for me. PERSONALLY.. I think anything below 9mm/38 special or anything above .357 is innappropriate for self defense.

  • It's ignorant of me to judge you, but I don't think someone who's only shot .22 lr can say that they prefer heavier rounds XD

I enjoy the concept of a larger round protecting me, but what I mean is, i wouldn't want anything bigger than a .357 for self defense purposes me due to the low repeatability, and absolute overkill. Theres no need to pull out a heavyass .454 revolver and double-action that pipe of a round into the chest of your assailant.

The obvious exception is bear defense.

  • Thats a lot of recoil.

  • Especially the first time you shoot it. At the time of this vid, i never shot anything higher than a .45. So this felt quite strong. Though you don't see too huge of a difference in 38 to 357 in my arms, you definatly feel it in real life.

  • how much was that?

  • These were rentals at our range. Just trying all the calibers.

I'm not sure if we were members at this time or not. So it could have ranged between maybe $40 or less to $80 or more.

If we weren't members, we would have to pay the $20 dollar range time, and the 20 dollar rental plus the cost of ammo. If we were, we would just have been paying for the ammo.

  • This was my first magnum round, that's why I was acting like a little girl with it.

Now I can a .50ae desert eagle without flinching. at this point =P

  • great video and excellent display of(safty frist)

  • lolz

  • Way to be constructive =P

  • its me XxcuttybonesxX
