Cool. I really should watch this, I've watched classic series such as Cowboy Bebop and FLCL, but I've yet to sit down and watch this. It's apparently quite depressive though, which makes this kinda weird to watch after having rewatched Gurren Lagann, which is so hot-blooded my head could explode. Except its ending. to be honest, as much as i'd like live action movie, NGE is way too big 4 one movie. It's remake is 4 parts, only because it speeds up the story. A movie would be at least 2 1/2 hrs minimu, and it would need at least 2 sequels, and hollywood would fuck it up by ending happily, and real cheesey

I know what you mean, but NGE isn't the kind of thing that you could really just "bring back" like that. There are the Rebuild movies, but they're more of a retelling--- it wouldn't really be possible to make NGE season 2 or something. It's much too meticulously constructed for that, and it did all it needed to do within its run.

And the manga does nothing for me. Sadamoto is a great character designer, but his take on the series couldn't hope to match Anno's, IMO.
