I'm SO sorry for yours and Boomer's loss. I can't imagine the pain all of you went through. But I think God doesn't like having absolutely perfect people on the planet like Jess, so he had to take her away. Rest in Peace!
@jessicalana91 Oh, for sure he is LBE. Great when you've got something to fun to teach him, but if he's bored, he's mentally checked out. He's a challenge, but I've learned so much - still lots to learn with him!
Loved ones she left behind Just trying to survive And understand the why Feeling so lost inside Anger shot straight at God Then asking for His love Empty with disbelief Just hoping that maybe She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waiting And I know she's smiling saying Don't worry 'bout me
@AlishaaC He had some cuts/scrapes on his legs, and a bump on his back that remained for many months. He was also quiet - we barely knew him when we brought him here after all of this, we poured over him, 3-4 ppl grooming him at once etc, then took him through the neighborhood to a candle-light vigil held outside Jess' house. He never objected to anything, never reacted to all the very unfamiliar sights, sounds and situations. He was clearly in a very introverted place.
It makes me happy to know Jess's family didn't dump Boomer. My sister had an accident years ago where she survived but my beloved horse died. Thank you for keeping Boomer safe, I'm sure Jess is smiling down on you all.
@shateen Thank you. Jess' family loves Boomer, they know that he was the most important thing to Jess, so loving him is one way they can honor her. Many would not be able to forgive Boom's involvement, regardless of exactly how it happened. Jess Parents are very forgiving, amazing people.
@rocksolidrider1998 - yes they do, Jess' mom visits most - a couple of times a week, we are quite good friends, and love our barn time, and all the family still loves him and visits often - they supply an endless stream of carrots and love!
No, Jess' parents still own Boom. We just take care of him for them, try to keep him busy, exercised and entertained. I need to take a new video of him with the ball - he chases after it like crazy these days!
Parelli is fun, and it has really helped me have a better relationship with all of my horses. It opens up a whole new world of things to do with your horse involving and beyond riding! I hope you get to learn about it.
We do it here at MoonRock Ranch, I don't know about at her other ranch where Boom used to live. But I gave Jess the materials and she was working on it with Boomer. She has 1 or 2 vids on her site JessBoomer, where they were practicing. It is a great training method/philisophy and we 'play' it all the time!
yeah i saw it... :( I even saw her myspace with all the videos she put in it... I also read the letter he parents posted about her being killed when Boomer fell on top of her after flipping over a fence ... that she broke her neck...I was seriously crying! :(
awesome. My friend and her horse are on an Equine Soccer Team :>)
It's a great workout and the horses love it. I think it feels a lot like cutting, the horses get so into it,and get those nice turns all to get the ball and score a goal :>)
OMG I HAVE TO BE THERE WHEN YOU HAVE THAT CHALLANGE!!!!! THATS GONNA BE SOOO COOL!!! PLEASE KEEP ME UPDATED ON WHEN YOUR PLANNING ON HAVING IT!!! oh yea and i was with lauren today and she was practicing with red.....not bad!! he did pretty good!! so not really sure whats gonna happen!! haha
He really is smart. We're planning a "soccer" competition with Boomer & Red - so my goal now is to teach him to push it all the way to the fence and bump it into the fence - he's already getting it with just a couple of tries. I'm determined to win this upcoming match! It's on, LauRED!
For that only being the 4th he had seen the parelli ball he did really good. He is such a fast learner. Jess was probably looking down at him smiling and laughing.
hahaha boomer is so cute :) i have one of those balls from parelli my horses ran away when i got it lol the are ok with it now though lol :) Boomer is so samrt :)
