My Shih Tzu sits there and barks at his food...I think they're "hunting," that or trying to lull the food into a false sense of security!! :) You can take the dog out of the wild....(Speaking of, do you know how Shih Tzus hunt in the wild? They go from door to door, ringing doorbells and asking "Got any chicken??" They have to hunt in packs b/c it takes several to reach the doorknob! :)
