I watched this fight it wasn't that boring but it wasn't pretty either. But if you saw the Rampage/Henderson or the GSP/Koscheck fights it was the same thing. I watched this fight it wasn't that boring but it wasn't pretty either. But if you saw the Rampage/Henderson or the GSP/Koscheck fights it was the same thing. In the Rampage/Henderson fight they were on the ground alot and were not doing much, there were a few good shots traded but overall, even the most hardcore MMA fan including you my friend, have to admit that the fight was pretty boring especially for the non casual fan.

At the end of the day both sports utilize great skills and we as fans must respect that because I know I wouldn't last long in the octagon or in a boxing ring. I disagree i thought Rampage/Hendo was a great fight,you have to understand what their doing people assume their just laying on top of each other. It's two elite fighters no way any one was dominating that fight they were so evenly matched. You cant compare that to Hopkins/Wright either that shit was redicoulous theres one technique in boxing its called punching,they completely failed to do that in the fight. A lot of the mystique of boxing's past was the fact that people considered its champions to be the toughest fighters in the world. I remember george foreman's interview where he discussed the primary feeling he remembered from his first title was the disbelief and elation he felt at becoming "the toughest man in the world". now mma has removed that distinction from any boxing champ.

It's similar to finding out that a newer sport's athletes were faster, could jump higher and could throw farther than track and field athletes. The ultimate expression of competition between men is a fight, as evidenced throughout history. mma athletes and boxers are both called fighters, but clearly mma fighters are practicing arts more closely related to actual fighting.
