  • my sister lives in huntsville....she seen sooo many tornados before...i havent seen one.....THUMBS UP IF U HAVENT SEEN A TORNADO :p

  • hahaha nipple

  • Its NOT a tornado until it touches down. Its called a FUNNEL cloud.

  • I remember this well... I drove directly under this while on 565 near Research Blvd. i said to myself that it looked like a wall cloud and that it could drop a tornado any minute. Sure enough by the time I got home a flipped the TV on, I saw that it had developed... Scary day.

  • it is a tornado what hell!!! dude!!!

  • Comment removed

  • What the he'll u mean nipple

  • @AmericanPowerBase - Uh , why in the fuck are you talking to me ?!

  • props to the guy with the mustache :D

  • "Well, there it is!"

"You know when that hits the ground we are gonna die right?"

    "Oh... Holy shit, DRIVE!"

  • hmmm looks to be a funnel cloud to me

  • I remember in the 1960's when video(film) of tornadoes was extreamly rare! Now days, a given tornado may be surrounded by hundres of phones and cameras, and posted for all to see on the same day. Something, isn't it?!!

  • in the begining the tonado was right in frontt nd at the end it was vry far away

  • the guy talking first sounds like dangle out of reno 911

  • A tornado just hit yesterday ... had NO comparison to that one . Tuscaloosa & Birmingham is devastated .. along with the other counties .

  • @2011dgarner don't forget about parts of Georgia and the Carolinas

  • @diva51012 - yeah , but we got hit THE HARDEST . Yall's wasn't as bad as the one that hit here .

  • @diva51012 - yeah , yall got hit too !

  • @2011dgarner who Tallahasse FL

  • @2011dgarner and Apison and Ringold and Chattanooga. We were hit also.

  • @Jesgirl97 - yea , but we were hit the hardest but equally it was tragic .

  • Haha

  • Unfortunately, Huntsville was not wiped from the face of the earth.

  • The lighting is cool.

  • Why are there still cars out?

  • @sweetpea3900 ohh you know, a tornado doesnt normally stand in the way of anything..

  • I might be dumb for asking this but do anyone know if a tornado hit by the college? My uncle lives right by the college and I heard the power will be out for the next 5 days and I havent been able 2 get ahold of him

  • The nipple lookin' thing...

    o.O

  • good footage, horrible commentary....Go to a NWS Spotting Class

  • did the tornado even touch down?

  • xD Hahaa. @KaylaAndSami

  • next time through your phone into the tornadao but make sure your gps is on so you could find it..the guy you gave it to is a dumb ass..they aint enough wind but yet there is a funnel cloud...what a dumb ass

  • 1:43 tornados without "oomph" are exactly the kind you want, if it's going to be in a metropolitan area!

  • Wow this dude is an idiot..

  • i remember this i was scared

  • Thumbs up for alabama!!!!

  • Whats With the erre sound?

    Its not really scary

The tornado didnt even touch the ground

  • @RaigaX17 but if it touched the ground it would be too late for someone to get out of the way, if they are not aware. only storms can be seen on radar not tornado. some only last 4 mins sometimes but moves for miles.

  • lol... I gotta love us alabamians.

  • Awesome video! Roll Tide!

  • Nice man I never got to see something like that in Huntsville and when I moved that happened but that was still cool

  • Good grief! Anyway, enjoyed the video! Saw that early power flash- the handler didn't see it because they were busy passing the phone around. Amazing video- thanks for sharing. It looked like it was getting stronger at the end as it was moving away- would love to know what direction the video was facing- Is that a beavertail to the left?? It's some fine inflow, no matter. Really awesome video!

  • Wow, I would never be filming a tornado!

Only me, would be in a basement crying like a baby saying:

TORNADO, HELP, TORNADO, WERE GONNA DIE. haha, XDDD

    awesome video though xD

  • @abbyxxx333 I'm right with you! lol xD

  • Comment removed

  • why are you recording when its just a funnal cloud? im mean ppl its just a funnal cloud.

  • nice!!

  • that 2001 is near u plus i hear a low tone and a high tone 2001s

  • Huuuugh... they just know... that there is excitement with a tornado and over hyper attitudes with bodily senses hightened and doughnuts and coffee time.

  • I love how the guy doing the commentary says" if it came down now it would be an F1" WTF and Power flashes at 3:50 and he said it is not a tornado right now. GO TO SPOTTTER CLASS DUDE

  • @Alabamastormchaser I wasn't the one doing the commentary. I have been to numerous spotter training classes and the like. I was at my office, and handed my phone off for someone to do the recording for me while I was in the office on the radio talking with NALSW and HMCRACES to report what I was seeing. The person stating the strength/not a tornado now/etc knows his mistake. Focus on the video itself, not the peanut gallery talking during its filming. :P

  • @wx4jrr Sorry, but I thought it wasn't a tornado until the funnel cloud actually touches the ground?

  • @Alabamastormchaser I wasn't going to comment on the narrators (NOT WX4JRR) stupidity until he let loose with the "lifting weights this morning, pls hold camera, arm is killing me" BS

    +

AT 2:42..... One of the all time stupidist utterings in the history of storm reporting/chasing/watching when he came back with the classic "Who Just Shot The Light Up In It" as the transformer fuse blew beneath the meso and illuminated the funnel for a split second.

    I Love That Dude.

  • well that sucks it didnt land and i wasted 10 mins of my life oh well i dont mind ;D

  • aw man im going to huntsville for college i really hope nothin worse than this happens

  • lol look at the base ya know the nipple looking thing

  • my aunt was in huntsville hospital when this hit(shes a nurse)

  • Hes talking like he actually wants this the tornado to touchdown. do he not no that its very dangerous regardless of its intensity!!!!????

  • Hey do you got any video from yesterday Oct 26?

Heard it was bad around the Huntsville Metro area

  • Antoine gonna fly away

  • lol i wonder what the owner of advanced auto said the next day

  • some awesome lighting with it but i wouldn't wont to be outside or near it! lol!

  • wow that was the biggest false alarm i waited 10 minutes for you should rename this video

  • So......................was anyone making any plans of maybe finding a safe place to be, or were you all just going to take your chances?

  • binnyswaa haha the nipple iv never heard anything so funny lol

  • DUDE, step in, and throw him - mr tornado - a freakin´ drpepper, and all will be good! but psssst, that´s a secret!

  • i love how everyones just driving around still underneath it lol

  • well that was pretty uneventfull

  • Sky boob!!

  • I remember that. Scared the shit out of me. I was driving home with my son in the car!

  • LOL "can one of you guys hold this camera for me? my are is killing me, i was lifting weights this morning" LOL xD

  • you guys make tornadoes fun haha

  • Looks like some spaceship is about to burst out that nipple!

  • I can understand the "sweet" comment near the front. I thought that as well (about tornadoes in general) till a part of somebody's roof ripped through my infant daughters wall and almost killed her during a rare South Texas outbreak. True - sweet from a distance, but realize, it's just a wind powered meat grinder once it gets some debris in it.

  • it does look like a nipple id like to suck it lol

  • 1 of the guys talking sounds like ray william jhonson :D

  • thats really scary to be in a tornado luckily i don't get tornadoes

  • Does the base ever touch ground? I see flashes but no debris.

  • We just had a Tornado around this area, some places look like a war zone...Hugs from Toledo, Ohio. Great Video!!!

  • did it ever touch down

  • 3:26 It's on the ground...see the power flashes below it? Tornados don't always have a visible funnel....what you need to watch for is the debris underneath it to verify it is indeed on the ground :)

  • so !

  • That is one of the strangest tornado sirens I've ever heard. Stays at a single tone? weird. Nice footage

  • that a tornado but that wont harm damn anyone! - SOMEONES CRAZY- i would call that a fuckin CLOUD!!!

  • did it ever land

  • @Lhuv1 @LDablo2000 Yes it touched down. If you search for the clip of our local news covering this live, WHNT, the meteorologist confirms its on the ground.

  • (Some of these comments are hilllllarious!

  • tornados in Alabama?

oh well, that's no big loss

  • don't you people think that is crazy that they are outside

  • @JocelynDiaz1 I dont think there outside in the open there just outside there window besides the tornado was going away from them.

  • @seanbonjovi2001 No,its a tornado siren,it warns people that there is a tornado, ususally they sound off when the town is under a tornado warning.Tornadoes do make a sound kind of like a train though.

  • @seanbonjovi2001 Thats a tornado siren

  • amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • There is so a crazy face at the top of that huge cloud!

  • ...So any y'all ever milk a tornado before?

    Okay okay. Couldn't resist.

  • MONEY QUOTE: "That nipple-lookin' thing..."

    A+. No sarcasm intended.

  • it was already on the ground at about 3:25 ish, you can see the electrical wires getting torn it just was really visible, i think but i could be wrong

  • n i c e

  • It Doesn't Have Enough "Ooooffff!! LMAO.

  • i like thst nipple lol.

  • look out for the nipple probably a boob is in there...... fuck that nipple ..

  • Nice job, thanks!

  • Seems like it ended up producing EF-2 damage. Even though there isn't a full condensation funnel appearing to reach the ground, this tornado was on the ground at this time. One thing Dan Satterfield always says and is absolutely true. "Tornado is wind, not a cloud"

  • i remember when arizona had a tornado warrning

  • i watched this thing form while watching channel 19.

  • wow. only 21 days into the new year and you get your first tornado. i miss living in huntsville.

  • holy shit O_o 6:55

  • i remember that shit

  • Very Nice footage. I live in Whichita Falls Texas. We got a lot of tornados there. I use to live in England where not one touched down, then we moved and at first we had to idea what it was we thought it was just a cloud. Then someone came out and told us and we were like ohh takecover?? Haha.

  • New Quote of the Day: "It has a nipple!"

  • tornadoes rarely happen where i live! i love them so much! there amazing! i wish that i lived near a place where tornadoes happen a lot!

  • omg i live in a country where maybe 3 tornados happen or less

but never not near i live but man that shit scary

i have never seen a tornado

    i would run

  • the session this year is gonna be a bad one. still winter and where getting super-cells..

  • damn,

    i was gettin off class,

i go 2 calhoun. n when my mom pickd me up.

    i was basicley screamin

    i was scard as hell

  • "Oomph"? Is that an official meteorlogical term?

  • LOL @ 0:47 nipple looking thing,

6:18 aybe we should not be here..

7:27 Look it's coming up! It's gonna join the bottom of the nipple LOL

I'm scared of tornadoes but I liked 2 be with you guys during one. You all are funny :)

  • this is amazing but it look so scary

  • Totally unrelated to the video, you guys have cute American accents. More on topic: I would have been thinking of driving away really fast. :)

  • i actually drove around and followed this storm like an idiot =/

  • it hit where we are!!!

  • It's not rare for the tornado to be seen at the edge of the storm like this. I have observed several tornadoes, and all of them have been by the edge or close to the edge of the storm. These are the easier ones to film when storm chasing also.

  • wow that was wow

  • watch for the nipple, thats what youve gotta look for

  • @binnyswaa -It's true. Like in Avatar, for example....so hard to see! -But they're there.

  • @binnyswaa nipple? Rofl that cacked me up but that is serious i have mnever in my life been through a tornado i dont want to anytime too even though it is hurricane season

  • iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeppppppppppppppppppppppuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuutttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttoooooooooooo connnnnnnnncccccccccchhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaa

  • Anybody else notice the power flashes? Yes it is a tornado right now......

  • my friend was in walmart when this happened

  • That nipple lookin' thing over there! That's pretty good. Was this the first tornado of 2010?

  • maybe;)

  • The best part of this is that the "trained" storm spotter fails to see that the tornado is on the ground from the moment he begins recording. Kind of hard to miss those powerflashes...

Quote of the video: "thats going left and thats going right, it could get nasty right in there." - Pointing away from the meso (and the tornado). Classic.

  • that was crazy

  • i was on moores mill when it was passing over us

  • What kind of sirens were those and nice video

  • 2001's and thunderbeams

  • @jseabo77 tornado warning sirens

  • My grandma stay in huntsville, she got 2 storm shelters, 1 on one side of da house and 1 on da other, she aint scared of shit!

  • @deathscalling00 Its true though, that is one thing to look for at the base of a wall cloud is a nipple.

  • wow..my mom ran outside and took pictures of the tornado :P after it went over her hosue lol! >.> cant believe i missed it -.-..i always miss the bad weather..but oh well :P at least i been in 2 and they were a blast!

  • The slightly warm inflow was choking this storm from becoimg a monster. Nice vid.

  • Its frustrating when the funnel just hangs there isn't it? You just wanna tornado sooo badly! lol Nice vid. 5/5

  • Great video, WX. i have friends in huntsville who were close by. i am in indiana where we have a fair number of twisters as well. awesome work., thanks for posting

  • 5 pts got hit pretty hard. I was working over there today and I was up a pole right in the damage path. You could look in either direction and see right where it came through. Pretty creepy. Could have been so much worse though.

  • That's an EF-2. If it's strong enough to toss cars at about 5-7 feet in mid air for a second ot 2, enough to root up big-ass trees. It's an EF-2 115+ mph winds.

  • wasn't there an ef-0 or ef-1 that went throught huntsville round about 2000 or 2001. I remeber one going by my old home when i was like 5 on amber lane. Pm me if you have an answer please

  • oh wow!

  • nice capture!

  • No its real. I live in South east huntsville and that one was heading north east :/

  • That is a slow moving U.F.O. The aliens are using the tornado cloud as a smoke screen. What is the light in the cloud. And that is why air force sends radar air craft into storms. Yack

  • Who are you calling into? Your parole officer?

  • I doubt it

  • that same day we had 3 tornados touch down here in az

  • watch out for dem nipples things bros dey hurt

  • its not fake part of my family lives there won freaking day ago!

  • i live in Morrisville, Missouri. If you live in springfield or around you'd know dis. We always got warnings but it never came. My family lives in a mobile home, so we really had to be careful but thats beside the point. Anyway we got a warning wen i waz at skool. We listened but our gym waz destroyed and last week it jus got finished being rebuilt. All i saw outside waz white. I got in huge trouble cuz we were in the shelter and i waz climing to the window cuz i wanted to c a twister.

  • 1vulpixgirl must be a Texas fan who is still mad...

  • Wow that thing is pure white..... Man that's scary..... Anyway's sounds like a 2001 siren in the background.

  • good ol' alabama.

a tornado forms and what do we do?

normal answer:You go into your house and into you tornado safety spot

alabama answer:You get a camera, run outside and get some footage for the family ;)

  • you forgot the part where you call it into the radio station LOL!

  • Wow, amazing.

  • People, just because the condensation funnel doesn't touch the ground doesn't mean nothing is happening on the ground. That was a TORNADO, a rotating cloumn of air from a supercell thunderstorm- in contact with the ground. Powerflashes and all. Congratulations, you've learned something new. For further info go to National Weather Service Huntsville and see the storm report. EF2 tornado damage confirmed.

  • Very true. I'm a storm spotter in the SE Texas area, 90% tornado's i have experienced do not have a large condensation funnel & rarely touch the ground. Yet they will do severe damage, usually the suction under the condensation funnel is invisible unless it crosses dirt or picks up debris & usually appears to be "tube" like. Of all the tornado's i've seen, the damage has varied from F0 to F3 in the funnel's path.

  • im from huntsville (huntsvegas) and thats real as shit. alabama is known for bad tornados

  • these people are dumb (its fake and gay) sigh when will they grow up its real u dumbasses! (not all the ppl i mean the one who cant believe it)

  • There is like 10 videos on this.... its not fake

  • they're just trolling.

  • lmfao. why are people calling this fake? hahahahhahahaha. dumb fucks!

  • your an idiot cipper, just because there is not a visable condensation funnel all the way to the surface DOES NOT mean it is not on the ground doing damage. A tornado is wind NOT a cloud. This tornado didnt have a visable condensation reaching the ground for much of its duration, yet was still a fairly strong tornado, rated EF-2.

  • idk if uve realized this but ive been just going through here screwing with ppl is all. thanks for wasting ur time writing that comment which took you 5 minutes to even think up probably. that is all.

  • kind of funny u think ur one upping me on that but i have lost my home in a tornado when i was younger. so there ya go

  • that is all

  • a 2 is not that strong of a tornado. get your facts straight also i think i may know more since i am a grad student for meteorology. dont bother replying.

  • @blue1111fuzzy111dice A 2 at winds with 115 can pick up small cars and trucks.
