The "don't be a dick" position depends on who you are dealing with. If you are talking to grandma --being a dick is absolutely reprehensible. If you come across someone like Shockofgod -- being a dick is imperative. And there is everything in-between.

the guy is confused. he is presupposing purpose for evolution. evolution is just an eventuality. it isnt guided, and has no goal. it doesnt determine what you should do, it is a result of you do do.
