@Luigi84289 Because Donkey Kong was never offically released for the Amiga this is a fan conversion of the C64 Donkey Kong done by Atarisoft(not to be confused with the Ocean software port of DK for the c64) and it seems the person(s) who did this didn't resize the sprites and such as the Atarisoft version of DK had large/wide sprites.
@Luigi84289 "A fan made this? Wow I didn't think any self respecting fan could release anything this horrible. I wouldn't."
You never programmed in 68000 assembly language with a 300 KB limit. I could stamp out any video game that was ever produced in the 1980s in a few weeks of work - with modern tools. It's real easy when you have unlimited memory and don't have to draw sprites by hand.
The MAME32 emulator version is the EXACT version of the arcade. Sound, effect, music ... the whole nine. Mame32 emulator lets you play over 1000 original arcade games for free. Once i downloaded ang got the donkey kong game(and others like mortal kombat etc..) , i never went back the console route.
I have this on my old commedore, but that last stage there isn't part of it, and the one I have had slightly different sounds to it, least favorite...def the 2nd one shown, those mover things, every so often changing directions, has thrown me off a lot!, then the 2nd one, those things that bounce and drop, har har har
It's missing quite a few animation frames. Even though the Amiga is a more powerful system, the NES version looks closer to being like the Arcade version. I'm not kidding, the levels are really squashed here on the Amiga and the elevators in level 3 look like something the Intellivision could handle. And the sound effects are crap compared to the NES and Arcade versions, especially in level 3.
I was in Bignonia at that time. Nice to see our games are still alive. In those days we converted Pharaoh's Curse, Donkey Kong, Frantic Freddie, Aztec Challenge, Zaxxon, Popeye, Bagitman for fun, no licenses or money changed hands. We did add extra levels in many of our games, but there were tricks to reach them. For example you have to collect all bonusses in Donkey Kong to get to an extra level. Also Aztec Challenge has an extra level. Bagitman has duo play.
Shameful translation. For this game to be on the most advanced computer in that era the sound of donkey k. stomping on the platform that supports sound like crap and the animation is too choppy. This is a 16-bit machine people!!!! Out of a 10 i give this a 3 rating. Junk it!
Actually, if you were to check the text at the bottom of the screen, you'd notice that this copy has already been trashed by viruses so give it (and the poster) a break. }:^)
All sound glitches aside, the extra level (and the ones in 'Donkey Kong II' and 'Champ Kong') make me wonder if there isn't a remake available that includes a level editor. It would go a long way toward rekindling some nostalgia and possibly provide a valuable 'history lesson' for the young'uns.
Sometimes I hear a very annoying voice.

Why does this say Bigonia?
Nintendo ported this game. My copy of the game was an "official" copy and it said "copyright 1983. Nintendo"

Why does this look so shitty? Amiga was graphically superior to the nes. Games like Castlevania, Contra and Ninja Turtles looked awesome.

Daniel55679Games 4 years ago
That's not *all* that's unusual about Pauline... or has no one noticed that her dress is slowly disappearing the longer it takes Mario to get to her?
(And yes, having played this game back in the day, I can confirm that she will indeed end up nude if you take too long...)
