@JustJules Thriller was a hit back in 83'. This came out in 86'. Janet had two albums that flopped back to back, before Control. Michael actually appeared in on of the lead singles of the album that flopped. It did help that Michael was a her big bro. J was the one making moves in her career, not Mike.

Janet Jackson's CONTROL album has to be one of the best R&B albums of all time. The way Michael Jackson's OFF THE WALL album made him a solo superstar, CONTROL did the same for Janet. Plus, the title track "Control" should be the anthem to every young person. We gotta take control of our lives and be independent.
