It's actually ukrainian cossacs battle dance. Like brazilian capoeira. Looks very cool and I'm proud, that Japanese guy dances this trully amazing dance. Japan has a great culture on it's own and I respect it so much. From Ukraine with love!
It is sad that the world got the translation wrong. It is 'Hopak' - a famous Ukrainian dance. They spell it with a G because they translated it from Russian instead of Ukrainian. But there is nothing Russian about it.
