If 99% of men tried this, the woman would get creeped out and move to another car. Then because she already knows him would interpret it with a biased, but positive, point of view. After boarding the train the guy then has to have either an attractive personality, good looks or a great way to start a conversation.
Again, you're not realizing that she doesn't know that he changed trains. Only you as the observer see it.

this is stupid. The commercial says that the son is the 57th president. If Obama is #44 then that's 13 presidents from now. Even if they were all one term presidents then the future scene would be at least- AT LEAST- 52 years into the future. Realistically, a few two term presidents would mean this guy should be over 90.
Do the math. If he (the father) gets on the train in 2010 while the current president is #44, then president #57 (his son) will very likely be sworn in over 52 years into the future since each presidents term is at least 4 years. If there were any two-term presidents (likely) then it would take even longer to get to #57.
@bockphysics: Assuming that "present day" shows the parents in their 20s, and "somewhere in the future" is 52 years in the future, that would make the parents NOT 90 but in their 70s. Which fits.

If he (the father) gets on the train in 2010 while the current president is #44, then president #57 (his son) will very likely be sworn in over 52 years into the future since each presidents term is at least 4 years. If there were any two-term presidents (likely) then it would take even longer to get to #57.

@bockphysics: Assuming that "present day" shows the parents in their 20s, and "somewhere in the future" is 52 years in the future, that would make the parents NOT 90 but in their 70s. Which fits.

@pellanora My point was that it's very, very unlikely that only 52 years will pass over the next 13 presidents. If you go back just 10 presidents before Obama 65 years have passed between Eisenhower and Bush, and that includes one mid-term assassination (Kennedy) and a resignation (Nixon). I'll agree that it's possible, just not likely.
