MIPS tech was developed to run with extreme complexity in mind for programmers. Take a look at OoT, for example. It had realtime rendering of cutscenes, entire map renderings, no viewports, and AI controlled cameras.

The PSP was BUILT for 3D games, therefore it has a good Sillicon Processor for X,Y,Z rendering, raytracing/casting, multiple viewports, etc.

The iPod touch/iPhone wasn't built for these purposes. If you could tear out the main CPU, rewrite the BIOS/Bootloader to MIPS compatible standards, then solder it back onto the main iPod/iPhone board coupled with an RSPand some RAM, you could in theory make an N64 out of an iPod/iPhone.

ipod touch and iphone has enough hardware to run a emulator, iphone/ipod has a 650mhz processor, 128 of ram and 16mb of video (just google and you'll find these infos) and better yet this is not windows so yeah its apple, the problem is we can't use the screen as a control neither for n64 even the ps1 emulator witch already exists so how about a N64 controller pluged into the ipod? that'd be cool... i'd buy one of these...

Well psp can run N64 games (emulator) in almost 100% speed with no sound for the most part. It has 64MB RAM and a 333mhz DUAL-CORE processor (from official playstation website btw) so n64 on ipod touch should be possible
