  • This documentary is a must have, and when I saw this exact moment, it made music click for me. If you notice at the very beginning, he's playing a sort of ballerina rhythm, then suddenly switches to the upbeat "Mandinga" and the girls start dancing, it's as if Mr. Ruben is manipulating his audience with his instrument and conviction. The music flows out of him and the people react to it. That's the ultimate purpose of the musician, the level all musicians should aim for. RIP Ruben Gonzales
