Yeah. Maybe he's using an unmodded IIDX KOC, since you do have to press the keys slightly early to compensate for the depression of the keys. But if not, then I don't know what it could be. TReXX, do you feel like you're ahead of the beat?

yea I have an unmodded USKOC. some douchbag gave it to the thrift store on post and I bagged it for 10 dollars. it was almost brand new cause the turntable was stiff as hell. and I cant really tell about the timing, it just feels "right".
