This does not speed up ram. RAM stands for Random Access Memory it's a memory chip. Defragmentation is a process where the data blocks of a file are put next to each other so that the hard disk doesn't have to spin so much and re-position the disk head to place it to the next block of the file. So it makes sense to defragment the mechanical hard disk to reduce access time. it doesn't make sense to defragment something which has random access support.

got a 64x system. :S Well my laptop is compleatly fast, im a gammer, and i tweeked it to the max. Its just that the intergrated Radeon 4250, which has 256mb ded vram, but 1.4GB shared with my 4GB DDR3 ram @533mhz. (533mhz is what the hyper video mem clocks). Sadly, it's not that great since my CPU is only an Athon P340 II @ 2.2GHz.. In other words, newer games have to be played on lowest. And the framerate is commonly 23-27ish. Need to defrag some ram prior to games, and gamebooster works fine.

There is lots of ways to fix ur RAM. Example: windows 7/vista takes insane amount of RAM. If u want games and PC run fast and u r worried of ur RAM, get XP Professional! It works for me

RAM: for multi tasking to hold volatile data, so u can run programs a lot more efficient. it is not exactly speed up ur machine but efficient-ing. let say u ave many toys, the toys ave their own original boxes. WITH another box(RAM) u can place ur toys temporary, aftr u done u can put the TOYS back to their original box(shut down)

CPU: make ur process more faster depending many clock/second.(hertz),ex,ur speed to take ur toys in sec.
