  • I didn't know these guys were preachers, too. WOW!

  • Now, ppl, ZZ TOP does have a song about Jesus so it's all good. Jesus visits the major cities, too. And catches the bus at that.

  • @paynecharles500 Jesus done left Chicago, Now he is in Detroit!!! A.K.A "the Apostle"????

  • These guys compliment each other, no hogs. Must be why they've been together so long. Been part of my childhood starting in 7th grade.

  • I have this festival ... it's astonishing!

  • how did they do that with the amps

  • unbelievable that so many people would pay to see this stuff.

  • That's what I call Primal Drive!

  • wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, look at the folks out there! Sounds like a great concert.

  • ?What's the name of Billy Gibbons's guitar he plays on the video

  • @arielzolotnik

    Gretsch G6199 "Billy-Bo" Jupiter Thunderbird

  • @arielzolotnik

"Some time ago, Bo gave me the guitar as a gift. It was during the recent ZZ Top recordings when the engineering crew and I snaked through the guitar vault searching for that 'certain-something' guitar and there it was! We didn't risk subjecting such a rare instrument to the rigors of the road so this new, reproduction model was recreated with some BFG Mojo thrown in for good measure. It's now the main stage guitar with a groove." -Billy F Gibbons

  • 21 bieber babies :)

  • when the guys sound almost like the studio version live they really know what they are doing. ZZ is at the top of the heap these days. beards, no beards, sunglasses or not, fancy custom cars or not, these guys just plain "kick butt". if you like all of the new stuff better you have no ears no musicality or nearly no brains. translated--a head full of "mush"--a big cheer for real music!

  • No pedalboard multieffect channel switching for this mofo.

  • Jesus just left Chicago, and Muddy Waters is his motherfuckin' name!!!

  • man that band is good

  • If these guys could just add a little colour or something, they might get to be pretty good. :)

  • @Jewelrydude I always thought they needed a keyboard player like Reese Wynans or somebody....

  • @IamUncledeuce That would have been interesting. I just read up on Wynans. Never knew his name, but loved Double Trouble.

And of course, ZZ is probablt colorful as they come, and sure got a lot of music from 3 pieces. Thanks 4 the reply. I learned some stuff.

  • @ Ihavenonameismyname that is a billy-bo gretsch built by bolen I think with pearly gate's specs.back in early 70's bo diddley/ chuck berry would hire zz to open with 1/2 hour sets on tour for em. Bo loaned billy the thunderbird to play on the tour/when tour was over billy went to return it,bo diddley told him to keep it and make some noise! ZZ have had guitars made out muddy waters old house(called th muddywood)ck it out sometime. Ck out billy's book, rock&roll gearhead.

  • Ok someone please tell me what billie is playin?? I can't remember

  • @Ihavenonameismyname a guitar...

  • @pcolalongfellow hahahaha no no no i ment what kind of guitar is that... ive been playing for 7 years i definatley know what a guitar looks like hahahahahahaha

  • @Ihavenonameismyname It's a Gretsch Jupiter Thunderbird Custom.

  • GOD Billy and Dusty had to be hot in those getups..I lived in Dallas at the time...I was there and it was an inferno,,People going out on stretchers with heat problems..Looked like a mash unit...People not knowing any better dressing in black and wearing not hats or shorts...Bunch of fools...Not a good experience to be out doors in the Tx. heat for that many hours, standing up to see....

  • @1stSaintsFan probably got air con on the stage or something, i doubt they'd stand out and risk the heat.... failing that there magical beards probably used their powers to keep them nice and cool :D

  • @jimjim506 ...Yeah you are right...Billy had a loft in Deep Ellum which is on the edge of Downtown Dallas and about a mile or two from the Cottown Bowl...It wouldn't have looked good not being dressed to the nines...Not good for the image dressing like Jimmy Buffett...First saw Top in highschool in 1972 right before Rio Grande Mud came out..They wore both wore red cowboy roper boots with daisies painted on the toe..Kicked Ass then and started with Francene...Peace...Cajun OUt!!!

  • 21 people missed the bus.

  • Have mercy! Classic!

  • I love that guitar rhythm "Waiting for the Bus" has. Yeah, they mess up a little, but it's just cuz he's readjusting his jacket flap and stuff. They can do this in their sleep.

  • I love that smile Dusty gives when Billy messes up at 6:32, but with that being said a bad note from Billy is better then the best thing I'll ever play on the guitar.

  • @z2153 I read an article where Billy said if he made a mistake he'd just repeat it. Then everyone thinks he was a genius for putting that there

  • Rev. Willy G......None Better !!!

  • HAVE MERCY

  • Im so glad most of these blues legends are still alive, Rip Moore, Vaughan, Gatton, B Jones...

  • grosse klasse

  • These guys are having a blast up there. Not a care in the world.....What a life.

  • plaly it like it is billly these boys are are world class rip gary moore

  • do u think frank beard was the inspiration to grow the beard?

  • Waiting for the Bus

  • At 6:54 you can see the great James Burton behind Billy watching the show. He's got a baseball cap, red pass around his neck, and his left arm leaning against a monitor.

  • Sorry anybody help me for the name of this song?

    Tks.

  • its great how the one WITHOUT the beard is named frank beard (;

  • @camguitar9696 Legend has it he agreed to drum for them as long as they wore beards.

  • @camguitar9696 ya he a a mustache lol

  • @camguitar9696

    you don't say..

  • HAHHA...TELE BASS... GREAT!!!!

  • @santisizable first of all that bass looks nothing like a tele. its a fender P bass

  • GREAT.

  • These two guys are a trip, too cool…

  • if we had franks money i dont think we would age either !

  • Haha The mic stand is an exaust from a semi.

  • I saw zz top in the recycler tour here in copenhagen...they were so awesome and they show here that they could really play...i could not belive my ears or eyes back then...and it rained so much but noone cared about the rain...we cared about having a really good time and we Got it. oOh yes ;-)

  • Zakk Wylde got all of his pinch harmonics shit from Billy...said he ripped Billy off totally...love Zakk for telling people about the master...Billy is rumoured to have taught Jimi Hendrix some slide guitar...i believe it. when Jimi Hendrix was alive, his fav contemparary guitarist was The preacher, Billy Gibbons.

  • gotta love the tele style bass

  • That Beard grew a fine guitar player!

  • De los ´70 que los escucho.

  • Wow. So much sound from only 3 Dudes... Fantastic.

I saw these guys at the Sportatorium in Hollywood, FL circa 1978 for the Deguello show....That was a CONCERT!

  • FEAR THE BEARD!

  • @schwalbstar and that applies for the drummer too! FEAR THE BEARD!

  • Can you imagine being up on stage looking out at so many people who are just lovin life because your so frickin good!

  • Easily the world's best beards

  • I would give my left skippy to see a concert with this line up! These guys (ZZtop) are just pro`s from playing to synced up posing ...just super cool...thanks for posting!!!!

  • nice shit kickers dusty

  • As you soooo rightly say: they are indeed fantastic. Frankly, anybody who doesn't appreciate just how good The Top have been for over 5 Decades should just spend the rest of their life in complete silence, contemplating their own gross stupidity.

ps Fantastic vid, thank you for sharing x

  • ICH würde denen Platz machen an einem Zebrastreifen. Aber auf jeden...

  • They look just like those two rednecks from Bugs Bunny... Hahaha...

  • Why the hell frank beard has a beard?! :o

  • @14FAILX41 exactly, whereas Fred always wore a beard - one more proof Frank died in 08.

  • What kind of Guitar is Billy playing?

  • @jodreams58 Its a gretsch and believe it was the one that Bo Diddley made famous

  • @Theonefooters Thanks..That is one sweet machine!!!

  • @Theonefooters I just did a search on his guitar..It shows a place in Las Vegas where he gets it...man o man...Guitar candy store heaven..wow.....

  • they still rockin it and always will

  • That muddy water turned to fine, fine wine.

  • Like wine mate - just like a Fuckin' Fine Wine ! No what i mean

  • these guys have had some fancy jackets but these take the cake as does the bridge into Jesus, brilliant

  • Irán a la peluquería especialmente por sus barbas?

  • they sound better than ever here. the sound of that 51 Precision/Telecaster Bass is nasty in all the right ways.

  • Is that Matt Abts of Gov't Mule on drums??

  • @CoreaKixx420 no, long time drummer Frank Beard...their one and only.

  • @SooperKewl Thanx pal!!! He looked almost too young to be the long time legend. LOL!! Of course, if I was a diehard, I would have recognized him immediately. Take care.

  • BILLY SOOO COOOLLLL !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • someday some little kid will wonder what cool really is--because so much time has gone by since there was any,,, and hopefully you tube may still be around with some ZZ Top videos and his grandpa can show him what "cool" really is

  • :))))

  • HAVE MERCY!

  • NO FUCKING WAY!!!!!!!!! I was switching through the vids of this festival and liking and favoring them....I JUST DISLIKED THIS.....FUCK ME....I'll hate myself for the rest of my life...

  • Big E fans all the way! Yes they are.

  • 30 tons truck

  • Simply put....They are bad ass !

  • Brilliant vid...Favorited xxx

  • im sorrery that when do this i have a bottle of wild turky in my got

  • they are the best for as long as i know if they played stairwaytoheven with opera vocials.

  • is it me or has Billy kinda lost the dexterity in his fingers? Seems like he plays a little sloppy and choppy..still love his music though..

  • @fistchips i think that if you chould play a 1/4 % good as what these guys do now then that would be saying a lot

  • @Maddawwg45 Ok Maddawg check my page out and watch my video of me playing the sky is crying and you judge for yourself..remember..I said that I'm a fan of ZZtop..just noticing that Billy isn't real smooth on the guitar when he's live..

  • @fistchips I don't know anyone who's got the same chops as they did 40yrs ago. They've paid their dues.

  • @Revolution1117 I have to agree with you on that..I'm a big fan of ZZTOP..have been since I was a kid..was just noticing the performance..

  • @fistchips Yeah, it's a little sad to see our childhood "guitar heroes" get older (and "stiffer"), but whatd'ya gonna do? Jeff Beck, E.C., and a few others are still doin' pretty well, thankfully. I'm just glad we were around when all these guys were in their prime (E.C., Gibbons, "Woody", Mick Taylor, "Keef", J. Winter, on and on...(not to mention all the black blues guitarists). BTW, I went to you page, and your a pretty damn good picker yourself. Good luck on your future musical endeavors!

  • @Revolution1117 Thanks my friend..and youre right..we got to see the best of the best in rock and blues guitarists..

  • @fistchips Billy was 61yrs old when they did this gig. Time catches up to everyone, some more than others. (Think Johnny Winter)

  • Billy's on his own because like he said about Muddy Waters; He really knows how to...........STICK IT!!!!

  • That is the most bad ass drumset ever lol

  • ZZ TOP najlepszy zespol na tej ziemii I LOVE BILLY F GIBBONS !!!

  • I like ZZ, they never over sold

  • Man, this was a great show. I was lucky enough to score tickets. Waitin' for the Bus is by far my favorite ZZ Top song so naturally before the show I was praying they would play it, but I had my doubts. When Billy came strolling out playing that opening riff I'm sure I had the dumbest grin on my face. These guys are just plain cool.

  • rock n roll is a fun music...all of the others just try so hard to have fun :D

  • Among other things, one thing I really like about ZZ Top is the amount of power they put out with only three people in their band. Lead, drummer, and bass. That's it. Good memories here.

  • Frank Beard never seems to age at all.

  • @Jackle61 Which guys Frank Beard ???

  • @FrankJRouseau Strangely enough, the one without a beard. :-) (the drummer)

  • @FrankJRouseau I know what you're going to say. Yes he's sport'n a goatee, but, everytime I've seen them he's been clean shaven.

  • @Jackle61 that's because Frank died in a mysterious car crash in 08, covered up my Dick Cheney's security squad, and Frank was replaced surreptitiously by his younger cousin Fred who looks a lot like him, but younger.

  • @Jackle61 Perhaps because he is the Master of Time?

  • esta mortal este tema...

  • I saw ZZ Top play at the Hollywood Sportatorium in Hollywood Fl on the Tejas tour - they were unique and they rocked then and they're still unique and they still rock. Look at their style - how can anyone not like that? Billy Gibbons is an awesome guitarist. They are excellent musicians and entertainers. How can anyone in their right mind say they're boring? They are fantastic.

  • @EasyN4 These guys went 'Spinal Tap' before the movie, if you dig....

  • @EasyN4 10-4 on the Sportatorium, I saw Clapton there and not to mention the Dark side of the Moon tour along with countless other great shows. The place was the "Pits" but a huge part of my youth that todays kids don't have. Missed this one though, Thanks for the post.

  • you make everything grooovy

  • sticks drop at 1:47 haha

  • The Bass sounds great!

  • Doesnt get any better!!!

  • @JESUSLION2011 and all you want to show is dead bodies?

  • @eROCtele

thank for no bad words to me :)

  • @TheMelodic2011 must be friendly to trolls otherwise they no not fags.
