@TN2708 Cos the Dolittle Raiders were stripped out B25 Mitchell bombers of the Army Air force , not Naval planes or crews .
The carrier steamed at full speed into a stiff breeze , giving 50 MPH of wind down the deck and the planes took off at full revs into this , with a lot of flaps down , at a high angle of attack , in a technique called " Stalling it off the deck" .
Bloody dangerous , especially for the first one off , who had only the front end of the deck to speed up on .
Doolittle's Raid didn't get to come back... not enough fuel to return due to almost being spotted by the Japanese, they had to take off early... some of them made it to Japanese occupied China... if anything, know some history, or just watch the Hollywood version contained within "Pearl Harbor"
Wow, an outstanding effort by all involved! Piloting and navigation skills demonstrated in the highest degree - along with a super presentation. Bravo!
USS Vapor huh? I bet it really was on days when the galley served cabbage rolls.

Aren't you supposed to land back on the carrier afterwords? :P
Looks like lots of fun! I would love to try build a bigger carrier for EDF jets! :D
