They now lease them (and other shows) by seasons b/c of GSN's part-ownership by Liberty Media, hence their practice of showing a particular season until it's run into the ground.
Hm, I guess GSN had the entire 21st season of TPIR in its vaults at this time, you could see a clip of Edrie from the March 4, 1993 show at 4:41. I heard that GSN got so far as airing the week of Christmas shows from that season.
No, this was shown to cable executives and advertisers, by Sony, to gain interest in putting the channel on cable systems and gain advertising. Obivously, it was done a little while after the network had been launched.
"there are thousands and thousands of episodes of wheel of fortune and jeopardy and i have seen every one, except for the jeopardy shows" lol. pat always cracks me up.
Those were the days of GSN in the mid-late 1990's when it was Game Show Network and owned by Sony before the 2001 1/2 ownership of Liberty Media that GSN stopped getting free access to the Sony game show library and had to lease 1-2 seasons of a Sony owned game show (currently Jeopardy! 2001-2002 and Newlywed Game 1980).
Wow. This used to be a great network. Now, the only family-friendly channel I can find anymore can only be found by pressing the OFF button on my remote. It's sickening, but true.
At 2:16, they showed a clip of the one and only time Leonard Maltin appeared on a weeks' worth of Super Password episodes, which GSN only recently showed in its entirety for the first time.
I wish Game Show Network were still like this :(

I don't why I get sort of emotional during the music at the end.

Laura Chambers of Club AM appeared on a lot of game shows herself. (Sale of the Century, Scrabble pilot, and Tic Tac Dough, to name a few.)
7:05- Do you recognize that woman? As if I didn't know.
And was this actually aired as an informercial?

All Night Long is the song...I wonder if Steve Perry could make a version called 20 hours a day.
ryanschroer 3 years ago
Make that 19 hours a day.
