Also, these were NE of Lafayette, they were more in the Milliken/Gilcrest area. Anything definitive would be appreciated!
One news network claimed the theory of stealth bombers. The man claimed that because the lights were in triangle formation, that they must be emanating from a triangular shaped stealth aircraft. Since when do stealth aircraft just sit in the sky though....

While it is true that the prominent emission lines for iron are in the lower end of the visual spectrum, they would be moving a LOT faster if they were meteor fragments and you would see them breaking up and the luminosity would not be a steady state like is seen in the video. This video was 'kind of' like my exp a few weeks ago. I saw a HUGE Triangel , and it was very low!!! and it made a loud noise at first, than no noise. I saw this exact same thing about ten years ago, only they were moving very slowly and were more faint. I kinda just put it down to planes, meteorites or space debri, but I've always wondered of the other possiblities.....interesting to see the same thing here anyway.
I witnessed this and now believe it is a hoax, given what was confessed in Phoenix and the same red hue occurring in vids. It would be possible to suspend a wire bent with a flare at each end and in the middle, thus the stationary appearance and then release them from the wire, to drift independently until dying out. It supports the twinkling appearance and manner in which they disappeared.
It almost surprises and sickens me how so many people feel the need to immediately dismiss this as hoax or false I saw the very same thing with my own eyes, I doubt it was a plane because planes are required to have certain lights on when in the air for identifying purposes not to mention the only red light normally seen on a plane is their strobe, and as you can see the red lights in this video do not flash they are constant and remain a steady distance from one another which balloons can't do.

@severedshaolin The impossible happened to me a few years ago. I let go of 3 balloons (to my daughter's dismay) and we watched them in perfect triangular formation in the sky for about a half hour. Just because you don't understand HOW it can happen, doesn't mean you should dismiss a logical theory.

I promise I saw these from the backyard of my house in Johore Bahru, Malaysia, not too long ago. IIt was about 2 am, and these lights just hovered in the sky and in the same triangular pattern. Most likely, it is just a plane flying through the air. Judging by the positions of the lights, it could just be a B-2 bomber or a F-117 Nighthawk. Because of the shape of both aircrafts, it could be easily mistaken by others as UFOs. So i believe that it is just a plane and nothing else

I have worked on Aircraft for 22 years in the navy, prior AF as well and never seen any Conventional winged craft, heli or plane hover motionless with no sound, nor is it allowed at night without 2 sets of Red, 1 white strobe, 1 green,1 amber, lights at night. @VongolaSekundes I am not by any means saying that the image depicted in this video is a UFO. But as a follower of astronomy, I have to correct you a bit. Yes, the Summer Triangle is a star formation. But these stars are not red. The three stars in the formation are Deneb, Vega, and Altair. Deneb is of blue-white color, and Altair and Vega are both white main sequence stars. None would look even REMOTELY close to this red triangle. I don't know what this is, but it is NOT the Summer Triangle.

I saw two red lights like this 3/20/11 9:20pm in Emmaus, Pennsylvania. I watch planes all the time and these lights were several times bigger than the left wingtip light on aircraft. They were not the flashing red strobe on aircraft either.
There lights traveled South to North , which isn't the normal flight pattern in my area. They were silent and one followed the other. After about 30 seconds the first light disappeared followed shortly thereafter by the second light. It wasn't cloudy out.

Okay! I am a fan of the show Unsolved Mysteries and the pattern of lights is very similar if not exactly the same as the 1997 Pheonix Lights as depicted on the series. Witnesses claim the white lights would turn red and followed a pattern together. There was no noise coming from the sky. It may be flares but how? Flares tied to helium balloons wouldn't follow a close knit flight pattern, as wind and other environmental factors would cause the triangular shape to change. Check out the U.M vid.

This video was 'kind of' like my exp a few weeks ago. I saw a HUGE Triangel , and it was very low!!! and it made a loud noise at first, than no noise. Than a nother thing that was beheind it flew over, it looked like a figure 8 is the only way I know how to explain it. I do not have it on camera or id share it. I was taking my dog out when I has seen this.

I saw those triangle lights too in Germany some days ago. watch?v=GjOPnb5GRtA, maybe stars, maybe something else. But I never saw such bright lights. One of those lights flew by before I saw that triangle. A plane? maybe.

I saw this exact same thing about ten years ago, only they were moving very slowly and were more faint. I kinda just put it down to planes, meteorites or space debri, but I've always wondered of the other possiblities.....interesting to see the same thing here anyway.

I witnessed this and now believe it is a hoax, given what was confessed in Phoenix and the same red hue occurring in vids. It would be possible to suspend a wire bent with a flare at each end and in the middle, thus the stationary appearance and then release them from the wire, to drift independently until dying out. It supports the twinkling appearance and manner in which they disappeared.

It almost surprises and sickens me how so many people feel the need to immediately dismiss this as hoax or false I saw the very same thing with my own eyes, I doubt it was a plane because planes are required to have certain lights on when in the air for identifying purposes not to mention the only red light normally seen on a plane is their strobe, and as you can see the red lights in this video do not flash they are constant and remain a steady distance from one another which balloons can't do.

I generally don't believe in these things, come up with ideas to explain them. But actually seeing this, then finding the video weeks later is insane. Did anyone else see them in Colorado Springs? If so, did it make sound? Too me they sounded like helicopters. only the lights stayed in perfect sync with one another and had no variations as far as distance and angle. Colorado Springs is south of Denver, and sound wouldn't travel that far. It seemed to be in the southern part of the city.

Me and my mom lived in Lafayette in 2007. We both saw the same UFO from this video then. At the time we thought it might be a space shuttle. However, I also saw a large glowing orange UFO when I was in Korea too. Thanks for this post!

Free floating lanterns WILL NOT hold a perfect triangular pattern.....wind variations and thermal updrafts would cause each lantern to float in it's own separate path. Oh and you should ALWAYS believe what the media tells you.....

@severedshaolin The impossible happened to me a few years ago. I let go of 3 balloons (to my daughter's dismay) and we watched them in perfect triangular formation in the sky for about a half hour. Just because you don't understand HOW it can happen, doesn't mean you should dismiss a logical theory.
A week later we saw the video online of people calling it a UFO (obviously in an alien context) and laughed. People these days...people

I promise I saw these from the backyard of my house in Johore Bahru, Malaysia, not too long ago. IIt was about 2 am, and these lights just hovered in the sky and in the same triangular pattern. Just passed it off as some planes, but kept doubting about the proximity and the coordination.of the lights. I now believe I saw some UFOs, but what is that all supposed to mean??

I had to forward this to my friend because we saw exactly similar three lights on second of January this year here in Turku, Finland. We were on my balcony and looked for like five minutes as the red lights slowly but steadily floated to the right and finally disappeared. Because of their slow speed we knew they weren't airplanes or meteorites (and because they didn't just suddenly disappear) but couldn't figure out what they were.

Most likely, it is just a plane flying through the air. Judging by the positions of the lights, it could just be a B-2 bomber or a F-117 Nighthawk. Because of the shape of both aircrafts, it could be easily mistaken by others as UFOs. So i believe that it is just a plane and nothing else

I have worked on Aircraft for 22 years in the navy, prior AF as well and never seen any Conventional winged craft, heli or plane hover motionless with no sound, nor is it allowed at night without 2 sets of Red, 1 white strobe, 1 green,1 amber, lights at night. This is clearly not an aircraft of earth origan, and its not projected light either or you wouldnt see a focal point. Meaning light has to be seen by reflecting off a serface DOH, for those retards out there thinking this is LED hahaha

@VongolaSekundes I am not by any means saying that the image depicted in this video is a UFO. But as a follower of astronomy, I have to correct you a bit. Yes, the Summer Triangle is a star formation. But these stars are not red. The three stars in the formation are Deneb, Vega, and Altair. Deneb is of blue-white color, and Altair and Vega are both white main sequence stars. None would look even REMOTELY close to this red triangle. I don't know what this is, but it is NOT the Summer Triangle.

i have seen something similar in hamburg, Germany. there were many little orange lights that have been staying on sky, and then they fllew away. And in russia there was a white light that was staying too, but then it flew away very very very fast. it was much more faster than a plain............

I saw two red lights like this 3/20/11 9:20pm in Emmaus, Pennsylvania. I watch planes all the time and these lights were several times bigger than the left wingtip light on aircraft. They were not the flashing red strobe on aircraft either.
There lights traveled South to North , which isn't the normal flight pattern in my area. They were silent and one followed the other. After about 30 seconds the first light disappeared followed shortly thereafter by the second light. It wasn't cloudy out.

I saw these "Orange balls" in India 3 years ago. There were 5 of them hovering with absolutely no sound from North west to South East. I did not had any camera to shoot that. Later when I searched for them oninternet, I came to know about these orange ball sightings in various parts of the world and now it is seen again in colorado wow !

It has to be some sort of government project. Now im no skeptic and believe their is other life out there besides our own, but think about it. No alien race would just come to earth to visit. On November 5 1990 I saw something that seems very similar in the sky at my home in France, 2,500 people are also seen (500 testimonies), at the time medias have spoken of as Russian rocket debris and then about meteorites.Le August 6 1990 Operation Desert Shield was started. For me, this is a test flight over France, which had sold the radars to Saddam to know if the F-117 stealth technology left a signature.
Strangely today, they have seeing UFOs in the US' sky.

Okay! I am a fan of the show Unsolved Mysteries and the pattern of lights is very similar if not exactly the same as the 1997 Pheonix Lights as depicted on the series. Witnesses claim the white lights would turn red and followed a pattern together. There was no noise coming from the sky. It may be flares but how? Flares tied to helium balloons wouldn't follow a close knit flight pattern, as wind and other environmental factors would cause the triangular shape to change. Check out the U.M vid.
