That was amazing. I know nothing of Koto except that it is mesmerizing and lovely. But is it possible you are being modest? You did do the solo and it seemed you did a wonderful job :) Thank you for sharing this exquisite moment.
@FuturisticApple1 me neither, but from what I understood, all she was saying was the title of the song and the names of the musicians. She probably said a lot more though :D
Is there anywhere I can buy a professional recording of this, either by this orchestra or another one? I googled the song name but couldn't really find anything. It's awesome.
I lived for two and half years in Japan. When I'm faced again with this oriental culture me further reinforces how important are the customs, traditions. We here in Brazil are a mixed people, various cultures, customs, the parents of our grandparents were just here ... Does very well for me to see how strong the power of culture, roots ...
Congratulations to the Japanese, many of us take its inspiration from them.
Outstanding performance my man, but I must say that I laughed during your solo due to the body language of the other musicians, you can definitely tell that there is some concern over your performance, even though it was flawless.
Very nice piece imo. Examples of music like this from a different culture in which i am interested in learning about just makes me want to be there sooner to enjoy it. So much to learn in so little time of us humans and just being able to have the chance makes it even more enjoyable.
That is good. I have noticed that those who do not have the positive overview on life tend to not care on the best times that they get to do and turn it into bad times. Not all of them do so, but at least some of them do.
I love the beautiful individual sounds of the koto and the flutes that just merge together beautifully, a perfect example at 2:53 where one koto can be heard playing some sort of a beat in the background which just adds to the sublimity ot this piece... I would gladly take lessons if there were any in Australia D:
It sounds rather like a version i have called nagare (the stream), the arrangement seems a bit looser here posibly because of the large room acoustics, i am far from certain though !!!!!!!
@ibanezxiphos700: Is that so? Well then: grab your 5th grade recorder and play along! Don't forget to record it it and put it up on youtube, so we all can enjoy!
I'm not the conductor, I'm just the one foreign person in the group. The lady in front of me, Maeda-sensei, has been playing since she was 4 years old (she is now 86) and the person to the right of her (your right) is my teacher, Nishino-sensei. They were very nice to give me the chance to make a really good memory. Luckily, my friend was there to capture it on video. Thanks for watching!
well if you have windows with a certain update for word 03 then all you have to do is go "My Computer >Control pannel >Regional and language options > languages > details... then to the side of the installed services part it will say add, and you just add japanese to the list of typable languages... if japanese isnt there, then you have to hunt for a language update for your word on the microsoft website (PM me if you need more details)
