Oh and regards to the one condescending comment by Yoganao, "Blood Letting" was practiced many years ago using rather large Leaches, but for different probs. Your other comment alledging therapists would "laugh" as you put it would indicate some sort of a mentally challenged individua's view. It usually works best to experience Primal Therapy before you judge it. Especially based on what you've commented below:
This comment left below by Yoganano is a bit off base. I have done the actual therapy and have found it be quite benificial as well as very healing. Someone who leaves such a stupid comment such as the one below has no clue as to what Primal is about.
Emotional blood-letting so-called 'primal' therapy that have you endlessly crying & screaming are just taking your money so the therapists can laugh at your expense. It's highly dangerous, be forwarned.
This woman must be Dr Janov's wife, he's the creator of Primal Therapy. She's cute and has an adorable French accent. I don't know if this therapy works or not, anyway Psychology isn't a real science, meaning that we still don't have efficient solutions to our problems. I hope things will look up in 20 years from now.
Please do not be taken in by this propaganda, my research indicates that most people who enter Primal Therapy actually find there emotional/mental problems worsened by Primal Therapy. Only a minority of patients actually benfit from this therapy and even then it can take litreally decades and cost tens of thousands of dollars.
What would you use instead to unblock deep old seated hurting feelings? Have you worked that yourself? I just think that research and talk help are ok in paper, but not in reality. They certanily do not help much, and paper and in reality and in my own experience.
I entered primal therapy in 1997, thought it was amazing, real, and it did help me tremendously.
I have to say though, many people don't benefit of it, approx 40%. Life can become extremely hard when you break down the defenses, after all you are an open wound. Overall though, I think it is the best therapy in the world, which doesn't mean I would recommend it to just anyone.
jerryfischman an honest answer to your question is that primal therapy is not a cult, it is in fact an approach to psychotherapy that is widely used and is highly effective...believe me I speak form experience.
Stress hormone makes a child homosexual? Repression? face palm.

J0kerofHearts - Please google debunking primal therapy, you will find all the info you need about the true nature of primal therapy.
As to your query I think the best thing you could do would be to talk to your doctor.

where can i see your research on primal therapy?

No it's not a cult. It's an offbeat psychotherapy program that was popular in the early 1970s but is obscure now.
