  • Let's us do our best to support our great motherland, a land includes the mainland, Hongkong, Macau and Taiwan. It is terrible and absolutely wrong to start a new civil war among our Chinese. Long live the great Chinese.

  • @allperils Hey, I'm from澳門, you forgot to include Macao! WE are Chinese too :)

  • @Miyuuko You from Macau? You speak Cantonese and Portuguese there right?

  • @allperils you forgot Macau xD.. but true China should be united

  • @allperils Taiwan doesn't love China, having Japan is enough for us.

  • @osukekun

Renegade province always suck up to the Japs but don't know what the Japs think of them in reality. Liability state with an inferiority complex to South Korea where their economy is booming unlike yours and your perceived Jap master's too HA!

  • @osukekun, Taiwan never loved China. Chiangkaisek and the Kuomingtong almost let Japan invade and take over China during world war 2! resulting in japanese killing millions of chinese! for instance during the nanking massacre. taiwanese arent worthy to be called chinese, because your taiwanese ancestors are traitors! the communist party fought hard against the japanese and won the chinese civil war, thus they are the worthy leaders of China!

  • @BaroqueWorksz Kuomintang, as maybe you don't know, isn't a Taiwanese political party, Kuomintang is CHINESE Nationalist Party and nobody but them fought against Japanese in China. On the contrary communist traitors of the Chinese nation only took advantage of the fact that KMT army was weakened by long lasting war and got control over the Mainland.

  • @BaroqueWorksz During the WW2 Taiwanese served in Japanese army and yes some of them killed Chinese, but again they mainly fought against KMT and Chiang Kai-shek, the only legitimate government of China. It seems that you got mixed some facts. Not to mention that China Communist Party's decisions killed more Chinese people than any other foreign invader, but not surprisingly CCP propaganda will never let you know about it

  • @allperils

You love Taiwan = That's fine. Taiwan will love us = There are a lot of people from Taiwan who don't like China.

We both speak Mandarin = OK. We are Chinese = OK.

We will be united, China-Taiwan-Hong Kong = We'll see. We can't tell the future.

  • @allperils Don't forget Macau, Singapore and Malaysia. Philippines? GET OUT!

I love White, black, brown, red, and all.

A-Mei is native Taiwanese, I am so happy to see Taiwan and China cooperating. Much more to come in the near future.

    Have a great day everyone.

  • Why are we talking about weapons and missles when this song is titled Forever Friends?

Can't we just enjoy the song? (:

  • Hey every pussy.Get out here. It's a nice music here that should obtain to correct words without u r talking about POLITIC.Fuck ya.

  • My fellow Chinese,

We are one people. We are one nation. Let us together bring more glory to the motherland.

  • yeah!

  • come on guy~ don't be silly~ well, doesn't matter where u at mainland, taiwan~ if u are chinese, why the fuck u care about the fuckin' stupid politics more than ur bro & sis!? the Olympic in beijing is such a glory for all chinese around the world~ we all come from one root~ and we really share one luv~

  • sorry i mean guys~

  • Fine

    What do Taiwanese speak? Cantonese

What do Taiwanese write? "Traditional" Chinese, note mainland China used to write Traditional Chinese before the government simplified it

What do Taiwanese eat? Cantonese cuisine

Come off it, even their traditions and holidays are practically the same as the mainland! "90-95% are different"? Do you really know Taiwan?

And note it's their government who "officially" declare want to be independant, not the whole population

  • You don't even have Taiwanese blood? Do YOU know Taiwan? Huh! Taiwanese don't speak Cantonese, which is 廣東話. Taiwanese speaks Mandarin (and it's 國語, NOT 普通話; the dialects also differ) and Taiwanese. Simplified Chinese is an official standard of writing in China, so you can't make point with that. Plus it's the PRC government who made that choice, not Taiwan's, so lay off! Taiwanese cuisine derived from Fujian, Japansese, and Chinese influences, NOT Cantonese.

  • *cough", Mandarin IS what the mainland speaks, which just proves Taiwan's more similar to the mainland.

And note every area in mainland has its own dialects, for example I speak 济南话, what, a bit of accent should suffice for Taiwan's independance?

And I don't see Taiwanese object to writing Traditional Chinese, do they? And the traditions? Exact same replicas.

  • "What do Taiwanese speak? Cantonese"

LOL! I like it when people speak out loudly to make a fool of themselves.

  • ???

  • If some random guy want to be "independant" in the US, do you see the Senate mark his land as another country?

And hark I thought using military opression was the US' speciality, not China's? Note in the decades China only applied force if national security is breached, not like the US, sending misguided missiles to civilian bunkers?

From a critical point of view, the west is actually breaking their "human rights" laws they set up right now, so why even start on China?

  • Uhh... do you even follow history or news? China currently has around 1500 missiles aimed at Taiwan and the PRC government has also stated that they will use military force if neccessary to re-unify Taiwan and China. Seriously, it's not just the "west" or the "U.S.", dude.... it's the whole world that has complained about China's human rights status. Your outrageous example is definety illogical. Taiwan hasn't EVER been ruled by China, how can it be a breakaway region? LOL!

  • I don't know if the number of missiles amount to 1500, but the PRC has publicly stated that they will use any military force necessary to prevent Taiwan from ever seceding. There have even been numerous occasions of the PRC performing military maneuvers and testing nuclear capable missiles along the Taiwan Strait to intimidate Taiwan and coerce the populous into voting a certain way.

You should do some research into this topic yourself before you chastise others for being biased or ignorant.

  • "Japan did help modernise Taiwan's infrastructure"??! Right, yeah, but you ignored some pretty bad and even worse things Japan did in the Sino-Japanese war, didn't you?

You see, some Japanese books claim they built hospitals and schools in mainland China when they invaded - which is true. But it didn't say the hospitals are for pro-Japanese individuals and every School in Japanese-occupied area are forced to teach Japanese, learn Japanese history and twisting their evil deeds.

  • Red herring much? Yes, schools in Taiwan were required to teach Japanese under Japanese rule. That was not my point though. My point was just because Taiwan was once part of another country, and shares a language, does not give that country any claim on Taiwan. Taiwan is sovereign; it has its own president, parliamentary representatives, judiciary, military, and currency. Not to mention, the will of the people in Taiwan is unanimous in not wanting to become just another province/SAR of the PRC.

  • Baga!!!Get out here with ur words.U should really know where is a correct place to put ur words. HERE IS TALK ABOUT MUSIC!!!

  • Nobody cares about the Japanese anymore, what happened in the past has past. Japan won't admit, thats fine, lets see what happens when USA becomes number 2 and China number 1. Tones will change.

  • don't make assumptions like this:There have even been numerous occasions of the PRC performing military maneuvers and testing nuclear capable missiles along the Taiwan Strait to intimidate Taiwan and coerce the populous into voting a certain way

thats how i can tell your just stupid nerd that doesn't know anything

  • Oh, please. They are definitely not assumptions.

What would you call China having military missile tests when Lee Teng-Hui visited America? And two missiles "conveniently" landed 23 miles away from the port city of Keelung which is just 30 miles from Taipei.

And what about China passing the "anti-separation law," that lays the foundation for its future military invasion of Taiwan.

  • Paris, I don't think China needs all this technology and preparation to take over taiwan, shows what you know and a another bad assumption. and of course any superpower will want to test weapons sometimes. Taiwan just happens to be off the coast of taiwan. I mean where else could they do it?

    I bet you like sciencefiction.

So let me ask you, what do you think should be done? Attack China??

  • Sigh. ::rolls eyes::

It doesn't matter whether or not you think China needs all this "preparation" against Taiwan, it is straight from the horse's mouth. This is what the PRC has formally stated as the measures it has and will take to prevent Taiwan's formal independence. Go look it up, read up on the Third Taiwan Strait Crisis or something; you obviously need to. Perhaps then you can finally discuss something about this topic without looking completely clueless and idiotic.

  • Furthermore, China has formulated a three-stage military preparation for a war against Taiwan. These three stages are: establishing combat capabilities, for a comprehensive contingency response; building up combat capabilities for large-scale military engagement by 2010; and ensuring victory in a decisive battle by 2015.

These aren't assumptions, these are documented facts of China's actions against Taiwan. Perhaps you should educate yourself instead of resorting to ad hominem.

  • When China Mainland becomes the largest economy in the world and USA is still stuck with deficit and plagued by wars in mEast, Taiwan will gladly embrace China to her bosom. It's happening right now as you sit there reading my message.

    Cheers.

  • Last point - "Taiwan hasn't EVER been ruled by China", not true, if you ever see a Qing Dynasty map, Taiwan is in it, and funnily enough the time Qing Dynasty ruled Taiwan equals to the total history of the United States of America. So if you say Taiwan should be independant, then the States's shouldn't really be a country.

  • *sigh* when you got nothing else to say you swear like mad? Well that's pointless.

If you want to deny the truth right in front of you and keep thinking the mainland as some sort of vile monster, I can't deny your rights, though you're going to keep misleading other people and yourself.

  • I find it ironic that this discussion happening on a song designed to celebrate peace and harmony...

Serioiusly, just drop it, and enjoy the song, please?

  • Fuzzy That's interesting.... I don't know if you watched the actual 2008 Olympic Opening but I beg to differ - it had absolutely nothing to do with actual peace and harmony - and everything to do with the appearance of peace and harmony. If I were A Mei I would be much more happy that the song was not picked. At least then it's special to people for being honest...

  • You may be right, but I'm sure the original intent of the song was to celebrate peace and harmony or whatever. And yea- I watched Opening Ceremonies..in fact I was in China watching them :P I agree, there's still a lot of work that needs to be done for multilateralism...but I do believe that people are at least trying.

  • So, by your logic, should Taiwan be apart of Japan then? The Qing dynasty did lose the Taiwan in the first Sino-Japanese war. Japan did help modernise Taiwan's infrastructure, many older generations in Taiwan speak Japanese.

Obviously, Japan, like the PRC, both do not have any claim over Taiwan. What matters is what the people of Taiwan want now, and the vast majority of people in Taiwan do not want to be absorbed into the PRC. Some want complete independence, but most just want the status-quo.

  • i totally agree with you. you tell them! :D

  • Would U guys just shutup, and enjoy the song? If U don't like it, there is a simple solution to it: Don't Listen to it! It's a beautiful song in my opinion! Geez!

  • 1988 korea seoul is Olympic song much better!!!(hand in hand)

  • I am an chinese in the mainland .I CAN say you are right. But I have a question that why so many chinese hate korea!?

  • Why do Chinese hate Koreans? I'm Chinese and I don't, I love them.

  • Yeah, I love koreans , and their culture..

  • i think the english one is better

  • Please stop arguing and stop talking about your political view. It is the lyric from the song:"One World One Dream, Until forever." We are family!!

  • What a beautiful song. What an unbeautiful comment page.

  • gay retards...gtfo and stop commenting on Olympic vids because of ur shit political views in ur pee brain....Free Tibet? ROLF how come Russia took China's land during WW2 and didnt return? u tell me.PPl from Taiwan was originally from China settled by Jian Jie Shi

  • way too good for you

  • Look, leave the politics out of the Olympics!

It's those idiots who shout "Free Tibet" now just because the Olympic is here that make me so angry - sport is sport, leave the messy politics out of it, those singers are glad olympics came to China, I think that's good enough for anybody

  • i can ask anything i want. also i worded my question appropriately and kindly therefore if you dont want to answer my question i suggest you mind your own business.

  • I think you misunderstood

I didn't insult you, I was talking about those "free Tibet" bandwagon jumpers, and I think you were very reasonable

But sport is sport, these stars do sincerely wish good of China and they congratulate China on hosting the Olympics by contributing a song

Though do note not every Taiwanese want "independance", it's only the current Taiwanese government that express they want it, but it doesn't represent the whole population on that island

  • No offence, but because you aren't Taiwanese, I don't think you have a right to speak for the 23 million people of Taiwan. I do agree with you though that not every Taiwanese wants "independence", but what every Taiwanese wants is to be regarded as a true self-governing nation with it's own culture, people, ideas, inventions, government, and way of life, in which they are totally different from mainland China. Every Taiwanese just wants China to leave them alone and to be respected as a nation.

  • @boygenius95

The special administrative regions of Macao and Hong Kong DO have their own holidays, own set of laws and ideas, and mind Taiwanese ISN'T totally different from mainland China, or is Taiwan claiming relatives with the US now?...

But anyhow why talk about politics on an Olympics video? Let's just enjoy the song and leave the politics out of it.

  • xuci111111,

I agree and understand the the SAR's of Macao and Hong Kong have their own holidays, own set of laws and ideas, etc., but "mind" that it was their choice to be regarded as one-China, while Taiwan does not want to be unified and regarded as one-China though. That statement and voice is stated very clearly to the world for six decades already.

Fine, not everything is totally different, but you got to admit, 90-95% of things between Taiwan and mainland China ARE different.

  • just calm down and enjoy the song!

  • i luv china

  • Erm yeah there's just the problem that China is like freaking huge and could bomb taiwan until it's like gone!!! Taiwan's like puny...also what happened to the whole war is not a solution thing....

  • btw u ppl argue say nationalists did most of the job fighting the japanese, but do u ppl noe how they get into china??? cus jiang jie shi let them in. he wanted them to eliminate the communist for him. if china doesnt let the jap in, they wont have a chance._. lets not talk abt all these rubbish. wats done is done. now just try and keep de peace we having now and keep all non-constructive comments to ourselves. 多一事不如少一事. lets keep our mouth shut and fingers off the keyboard.

  • ppl just abuses olympic. use it as an excuse to insult and attack other countries system. different countries need different system. i am living in sg. it has a government system of a combination of communism and democracy. if ppl still wan to talk abt peace but do the irony, i am afraid the so called peace we having now gonna be gone for another decade wif war. then u ppl will regret. all de comments u gave and prejudice thoughts are the start of an chaotic century.

  • yea i dont know why people gave u negative remarks for ur comment. its the truth. guess the weak cant face the truth that the most countries are greatly exaggerating the issues in China so to try to cause chaos in China

  • u tink western countries have lots of freedom? they do have in some areas, but u ppl dunno how much news is controlled in western countries. human right...rubbish wat i will say. china no freedom? oh plz if given too much freedom, wif tat number of population, u tink how chaotic it will be? if china dun give freedom to people, how china gonna get rich? use ur brain lah...communism in china is a new kind of system. its no longer de old communism long time ago. it has adapted to the current world

    ROC

  • Totally agree.

  • HAHA ,IT IS interesting.are you freedom ?

it is laughable questione.i am also in canada.but i think china goverment did great job for all the chinese (mainland.)1.2billon people.the china is much better than 20 years

  • if you people want to free tibet, do it somewhere else, this is a song, its got nothing to do with free tibet,

  • is nice

  • FREE TIBET ? Give me more , I want to buy more,Haha !!

  • lol serious learn your history. Your father of your liitle "country" sun zhong shan is BORN in MAINLAND CHINA! and your second leader Jiang Jie Shi is FROM AND BORNED IN MAINLAND CHINA ALSO!! Your whole freaken little "nation" is from china but you guys fleed to taiwan 'cuz you guys are too chicken to fight back! you idiot!!! learn you facts!

  • I believe they are Sun Yat-Sen and Chiang Kai-Shek.

To say that the Nationalists were too chicken to fight back is unfair. If you say that, you can also say that the Communists were too chicken to fight the Japanese, because the Nationalists did most of the fighting. And note also that the Long March was a retreat from the Nationalists.

  • The Nationalists did not fight the Japanese, they did run. They were out numbered and out gunned. Tthey only took credit on the surrender because Allied forces flew Chiang Kai-Shek to the north before Mao could get there. . Mao's forces won against both the Japanese and the Nationalists. I am not pro-Communist, just pro-truth.

By the way, Sun Zhong Shan and Jiang Jie Shi is the correct spelling in Mandarin.

  • "pro-truth"? How come you got all the facts wrong? oh, I see, you read the history written by the communist party, maybe you're one of them too. You got to read some REAL history books, especially those banned by your government.

  • I am a American, Vietnam Veteran and I have been studying Chinese history and culture for 40 years. I also go to China every year.

Western media has much more controlled "news" than

China. Get a clue and quit listening to the western propaganda. The world has enough sheep.

It is you who is misled.

  • If it weren't because of your CCP government, you probably wouldn't have ended up in USA. We are probably all misled from time to time, but you really haven't studied anything for the past 40 years. When you go to HK, pick up some books, that's the great thing about 1 country 2 systems, the CCP cannot shut down the history books published there, and those books aren't "western propaganda", they're written by the Chinese people (not by chinese people pretending to be american).

  • You are so right

  • The Nationalists had great victories also. I'm not saying that the Communists didn't do anything, but the Nationalists did much more.

While I must give you much respect for being a Vet, it seems to me that you seem to follow the 'Old China Hand' school of Oriental interpretation.

  • lol FREE IRAN! FREE IRAQ! FREE ALL THE COUNTRIES THAT THE AMERICANS HAD INVADED WITH A POOR EXCUSE THAT THEY HAVE NUCLEAR WEAPONS BUT THEY ACTUALLY WANT OIL! FREE FREE FREE!!!

  • love human! love live! no nation!

no korean ,no japanese, no chianese

no english, no american, no tibetan, no all nation, only peace, only human , only live. same human ,same heart.

    my theacher gotama sitarta.

  • Tibet has been freed!!!

It was freed from the feudal society that it was under the Dalai Lama.

The people are no longer slaves and they have running water, electricity and food year around, something they did not have under the rule of the Dalai Lama.

    Nothing grows in Tibet!!! HELLO!!!

Read your history books and quit being led by CIA propaganda. The Dalai Lama has been on the CIA payroll since the 1040'.

  • people who know their history do know how hard tibetans had it but that does not have anything to do with china trying to erase it's culture.

even though tibetan society was feudal more people starved there during mao, like how more people starved in china. The Dalami lama isn't even asking for an independant state, just religious freedom.

  • China trying to erase Tibet culture??? Where did you hear that??? Have you been to Tibet??

They have religious freedom, they just to not have the right to break laws.

  • agreed, pluz, all the minority groups in China are treated much better than the Hans. My mom told me when she went to school, the students who were from minority groups didn't have to pay anything, the government supports them. they don't even have to pay taxes as much as Hans have to pay. where did all these idiots hear the China is trying to erase Tibetan cultures? that's crazy~~ All the Tibetan kids learn their native Tibetan language in school(which i am learning now)~!

  • China encourages the preservation of minority cultures, unlike the US, who tries to assimilate everyone into being the same. These untruths are spread by a small minority of power seeking trouble makers in Tibet who wish to return to the days of a feudal system where they can control the society to their ideology.

I respect the Dalai Lama as a spiritual leader, but not as a political leader. He needs to tell the truth.
