@twloha73 Comet doesn't make flushmount boards anymore so the only option is the drop through. I just don't like the way normal trucks feel when dropped through but this board with a reverse kingpin truck dropped through is sweet.
He uses his infinately delicious 'sauce force' to draw people away from the warm noodly embrace of the one true God... He is pure evil. More often than not, he telepathically directs the empty minded lost souls towards the ridiculous belief of Christianity where the 'hopelessly confused' find refuge in believing in some sort of magical, Jewish, zombie sky carpenter.
Iv had my fsm for awhile, flipped it a few times doing 40 around a corner (riding 86a) Im going to get new wheels soon (lookin at 80a or 83a) but I have indy 215's and its fun as shit. But given im wanting to do more downhill and im not sure if i should change my trucks or not. any ideas?
well if you want a nice travel/dance/ a bit of freeride slides hen the dervsh. the fsm is awsome for freeride. but its a stiff board. stable. sick freerider.
@weneedecolution If you're looking to do slides like the one at 1:05, then you should buy the fsm. It's go sick concave and it's stiffer. It's easier to control stand up slides with a stiffer board. And the dervish is non-concaved so you'll slide off every once in a while.
If you want to do cross stepping and some sliding, I'd go with the dervish (Love that board), but if you want to do a lot of crazy controlled sliding, go for the FSM.
the dirvish is a completely diffrent board entirely, to flexy for my taste, the fsm is completely stif and shaped more like the speed board, the dervish is completely ment for tricks and shit like that eventhough people mistake it for a speed board...alot...
YES. Go for the fsm. My first board was a dervish and it was aight until I got my fsm. Everything is better on an fsm except dancing. Plus the fsm is way cheaper.
Dude get the fsm I have a dervish and I am saving up for an fsm. The dervish is okay, but the fsm's stiffness and rocker gives the dervish the sliding and downhill ability it lacks. This board is called the downhill dervish. So... yeah. Listen to your heart.............
FSM is way better for free riding (slope style). Big Zigs are not good for free riding, they grip too much. but if you are wanting to downhill on it, it can be done. I would get some yellow or purple orangatang free rides. R II's are good trucks for all around free riding and downhill, but for free riding I would get indy hybrid 215's.
@LiquidSunSkateboards nope, not at all. (i'm really not trying to be a douche here, i promise) they have slightly different wheel cutouts now, and on paris 180's i can't make my in heats bite. i'm talkin the soft ass bushings that i use to keep the daily florida flat ground push fun, and all of my weight on one corner bouncin up and down right by the truck and it still never touches. just so ya know...
@LiquidSunSkateboards oh me too. i'm WAY too lazy to push myself around on this flat ass state on anything smaller than a 75mm. big wheels are why i longboard.
@hereforthechicks Dude I live in Sarasota county FL and I hear ya, sooooooooooo damn flat, to get anything interesting I have to ride and slide down overpasses
@frankisrad777 yeah dude, there are a bunch of ramps that dump into downtown jax. loads of fun, but those little grooves chunk the shit out of wheels...
Keith is like 200 and still rocking the same set up since the summer. It handles speed as well as you do. However fast you can go it can go because it's all about how you ride. I've gone over 40 on mine with indy's and I'm sure I could go faster. It's all a state of mind just like being able to ollie stairs and do hand rails and crap, theres the little skills you need plus the mental capacity to throw yourself at it understanding how to implement those skills.
i might be getting an FSm soon but i cant decide weather to get a mini or the actual fsm cos i'm only 5" and im worried that other stuff would be hard for me it i go with a longer board. What do you think?
The fsm has little to no flex with a deep rocker, concave combination, is geared much more towards downhill, sliding and freeriding although with a little extra muscle you can do all the same tricks on it as the dervish. My favorite set up is flushmount with indy's and your favorite wheel for destroying. The drop through with randal 50* is a more stable and more "longboard like" ride as apposed to the indy's which rides more like a street/park deck because of how the different trucks function.
Depends on your set up. I've had my durians which are 75mm on a drop through with RII's with no bite issues with the trucks floppy and I have indys on a flushmount now and it's not even close. So you're probably good.
Only if you also consider fool in the rain to be a modified Purdie shuffle :) The video on drummerworld explaining what the Purdie shuffle is is priceless...

durians.

@concretesurfer124 noo stimulus, durians will bite if you have your trucks semi loose, like khiro red/blues

Get the normal size fsm, The mini just seems weird to me and doesn't perform how I want a board to.
