Nice video-and a cute box! I usualy color my boxes with matching colors first. -mostly white. Especially when using thin papers- the dark surface will not shine through.

I make these boxes too! What I use however is material which is way harder to work with than paper and that I will try. My look is victorian using beads and lace, etc. For the inside and the bottom, I've used black felt. Gives it a rich look and does well when on the furniture and simply cleans off with a lint brush if needed. Measuring the inside is just as simple as the outside. Give it a try if you like.
