@JamesJimmaHarding The Warden had him murdered because if Andy was freed using Tommy's knowledge, his financial fraud would have been revealed...though of course it was in the end anyway.
A great scene from a great movie ! . You kind of think the warden has seen the light, but the result is a tad unexpected, thats one of the reasons it such a great scene..

I hated that part, it split my heart so bad. I loved Tommy, he was so young and innocent. He wasn't going to be in prison for very long and he had his whole life ahead of him and a family. That wardon guy was such an ahole i wanted to put him in the "Hole" for his whole life.

@xLillie16x Mr. Norton wanted to keep Andy in prison, because Andy was making him money, but Tommy could've prooved that Andy was't guilty, so Andy could've been set free and the warden didn't want that because you know, the money, so he had Tommy get killed so the evidence was gone. That's why.

Yeah, Idk I think hadley knew exactly what happend when he shot tommy but it all ended when Andy knew he would get back at the warden, He was so corrupt, Its good that andy got hadley arrested and Warden dead, But In a way ur right Norton did backstab Hadley. Its funny tho really, Hadley made all of the other guards in the prison look like angels and him as the captain always resourted to beatin the crap out of the prisoners if he got pissed off, Like when he almost threw andy off the roof, lol
It was at This moment that I developed a painful burning bubbling eternal hatred for the warden.

For some strange reason, I always thought that Tommy beared a striking resemblance to Fonzie which is why it was so sad when he got killed.
Although I think the saddest scene was when Brooks died. That was a real tearjerker.
