  • the biggest train in the world is im Brazil, is common operated with more 300 cars. This train is opereted Railroad Carajás in Brazil. Train with 330 Cars, the largest conventional train the world.

    Reguards from Brazil

  • Imagine having to wait for that thing.

  • it's cool to see something built in Eirie PA running down under.

  • horney bugger aint he

  • How long is sucker?

  • it cost over $400,000 to ride this train.....for 12 seconds

  • heavy does not approve

  • I like the paint scheme and the video, but the sound caught my attention. Not to be "Nit Picky" and nothing against your video, but the sound (appears to be) from an American GE "EVO" series locomotive/Train. I would love to hear the sound from the actual video, if you have it somewhere. If not, just disregard this comment.

  • @BNSFbeagrett9647 These are American locomotives, made in North America and imported to Australia, and the newer ones that Rio Tinto run are G.E. EVOs. The locos that BHP and Rio run are almost identical to the ones you run in the US except for some local requirements like extra hand rails etc. The horns are the same. Check out the website on "more info".

  • that iron ore is going to be shipped to China , so they can bulid there mega bulidings.

  • Never seen an iron Ore train before. Neat.

  • Great vid and awesome train! The swedish Iron Ore trains are normally pulled by one IORE-locomotive (strongest electric locomotive!)

  • very very strong train

  • And the drivers are polite.

Was driving back from Harding Dam, had to stop and look where a water pipe arches over the track (cutting) about half past 4 today, driver gave a big wave, right back at ya !!! Well done, those trains are impressive

  • @KG84C I would imagine they would be pretty happy with their lot, 90% of the time anyway, and the money is about the best you'll get up there, though money doesn't buy you happiness as they say!

  • @gm16v149 Yeah, I think I'd be real happy doing that gig.

Wonder if any engineers, or that engineer read this post and figure, that's that guy near the white 4WD, I gather not that many people stop to give them a friendly wave.

  • scary

  • @iambehindthemirror only if your car had been stalled on the crossing, because that train would take probly 5-6 miles to stop with the load of ore that hes carrying.

  • @Fireheart528 Yes, he (the train) is very strong and big.

  • hes really moving here.but why all the horn blowing?

  • @bonzoAU See answer a few lines down !

  • @gm16v149 sorry didnt see the comment there thanks any way

  • @bonzoAU Why not ? It gives the train some character and not like these days where freight train drivers give such short quiet blows approaching crossings.

  • 35.000 tons with 3 engines sounds iffy to me they only look like 80 ton trucks . A european record is 6000 tons with ONE class 59 loco. Are you aussis boasting,

  • @bmwnasher check out the website at the bottom of 'more info' and see for yourself.

  • @gm16v149 I believe you. one of our class 59s can pull 12.000 tons also two engines haul 2000 tons up a 1 in 27 gradient called the lickey incline.ps the 6000tons was a mistake

  • Try to stop that son of a b***h...

  • Thats a heck of a horn!

  • @mbta1000 There were some kids on MX bikes near the line and I guess he wanted to make sure they knew 35,000 tons was bearing down on them!

  • Awesome catch here man.

  • Just wanted to correct you on something....Rio Tinto operates trains with head end power only, so no mid train helpers and no locotrol. We do have bankers at some mines but generally it's head end power only. BHP operates locotrol as they split their trains for dumping, where as we dump a full 234 car train. Most of our trains run at 234 cars but there a on an odd occasion shorter trains running around.

  • Yeah I was refering to the BHP trains with the locotrol & mid train helpers etc. Thanks for all the info, how about some videos of the rail from you. Outbackspot can't have it all to himself up there !

  • @gm16v149 haha yeah one day I will get round to uploading some cab stuff and ground stuff! Might have to get some up in the next couple of weeks!

  • Awesome video 5*****

  • Amazing. Only hearing it you can feel the weight. I bet it must be really boring to load that thing, car by car...

Thanks for the GMaps coordinates man.

  • Thats great video Chris

We get 65 trains a day here with three main lines but the longest train would be 150 cars

  • Wow! Very impressive!

  • Great video Chris, and very educational info. 5 stars.

  • JEEZZ, thanks for the info Chris, wouldn't want to break down halfway across the tracks when that big jigga is coming along...

  • hey chris! I know those bastards are big.....but how long are they? 220 cars would be how many meters or feet long??

  • Hi Renae, 220 cars would be about 2 kms, but I know they can go up to 3.75 kms or 2.3 miles long. If you're waiting for one at a crossing they take ages to go past.

  • nice video

  • thats a bloody big train :)

  • where is this taken?

  • copy and paste this into google earth and you will see exactly where it is 20°47'31.99"S116°46'9.13"E
