@ykabile 1.

This is not Bulgar folklore !!! This belongs to the assimilated thracian natives !!! When they came to Europe in the 7th century the bulgars didn't have this type of clothes, music, customs, nor did they know how to build houses, do agriculture, etc... They were nomadic tribes... Stop mixing natives with bulgars !!!
@Istilelife read some impartial history books... show some respect for your ancestors... and when you're done, change the name of the vid to "Folklore FROM Bulgaria, Rutchenitsa" ...
@unomnacajit11 Look, you obviously confuse the region Trakia with the ancient natives of Bulgaria - the thracians. The region Trakia is the place where this kind of razhenitsa comes from but it doesn't mean the dance belongs to the thracians! Sure, they lived in the region we now call Trakia but the origins of this dance are Bulgarian and the dance first appears many centuries after the disappearance of the thracians. Moreover, the thracians didn't play the instruments this music is played with!

Cyrillic alphabet created by Kliment Ohridski in Bulgaria Preslav during the reign of Car Simeon Veliki-Emperor of Bulgaria called king of bulgarians and greeks.
Bulgarian folklore is very old it comes partly from the traditions of the native inhabitants of our land -the thracians. Nestinari is a bulgarian tradition coming from them.
And yes Bulgarian language was official in Walahia. When a language is used in church and state affairs it is indeed the Official one in the country.
fantastic dancers in a beautiful setting this dance my favorite i do as a couple dance and been told my bulgarians i am very good hard to find a pardner that can play the flirting and chasing game with a hankerchief and using many different steps the expression uses makes this a joy to do
Spartac Bulgarians are very ancient civilization. You don't descend from Rome neither we from Asian tribes.
We are Aryans-Bulg-Arians. And today's Romania was part of Bulgarian Empire for centuries. The bulgarian language was the official language in Walahia until 1860.
Most of the common features found in the Romanian and Bulgarian folklore are usually due to Ottoman influences. In Romania those influences are to be found in a small part of the country Dobrogea, while it seems to me that most of the Bulgarian folklore is heavily influenced by the Turks. BTW, Bulgarian language was never official in Wallachia, Maybe you meant Cyrillic letters used till around 1860, also in the past till around 1600 - 1650, Slavonic was used in the chancellery and church.
No you are very wrong the bulgarians were never influenced by the turks. It is the other way around. The turks come here in the end of the 14 century when Bulgaria had have already very strong traditions and customs.
The only thing that may deceive you is the men's pants that are similar. The traditional turkish music has arabic and oriental elements. The dancing Dervishi thats traditional turkish music that has nothing in common with Bulgarian folklore.

with the first part I agree, but the Empire was Romanian-Bulgarian, not just Bulgarian, and was also called afer the neme of his emperors - ASANESTI brohers. In Walahia was used the Kirilik alphabet, but we didnt speak Bulgarian.
::))) I really do not know who tells you these lies and how did they come up with Romanian-Bulgarian Empire when the first time the word Romanian shows up in the 19 century. Before that noone never heard about that there was only TRANSYLVANIA and WALAHIA - no romania my brother.
@ykabile The second bulgarian empire was rulled by Peter and Asen wich were vlachs ( Romanians). Their official title was king of bulgars , greecks and vlachs.
Nonsense, the brothers Asen, Petur and Kaloyan (the handsome Ivan) were bulgarian aristocrats. If you imply that they are romanians because there mother was supposedly kuman that does not make them such. First of all nobody can prove who the kumans were some historians consider them just another slavic tribe. Second
it was a common practice for the kings or aristocrats to take wives from a different country or any distinguished family regardless of there origin. That is how strong ties and alliances were formed.
The speculation that their mother was kuman does not make them romanians.
They were Bulgarian Kings and the only reason the scribes wrote "kings of Bulgarians, greeks and vlachs" was that those territories inhabited with greeks and vlachs were part of the Bulgarian Empire.
There was never mentioning of Bulgarian-romanian kingdom in any sort of document. It is quite pathetic to flatter oneself using the deeds of others.
@ykabile Aw there are so many things you don't know about the bulgarian history, things that are not even in the history books people. But this is Bulgarian folklore thats for sure! I am not gonna let somebody to throw lies about my country!
@Pr0feBboy You are wrong I know a lot about Bulgarian history and everything I said is true about Romania. Bulgarian was the official language until the middle of the 19-th century. Romania became Romania when the principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia were united under Prince Alexander Ioan Cuza in 1859.
There was only Bulgarian Empire and Transylvania and Walahia were part of it. Our border was with the magyars. That is why there BANAT Bulgarians in Transylvania even today.
I have never heard about Bulgaria being called after some mystycal romanian brothers -Asanesti. I think only in Romania they teach you that. Actually you will find it in any historical book written by any author except obviously romanian that BULGARIA is the oldest country in EUROPE that bears the same name since its establishment.
Old Great Bulgaria or Great Bulgaria (Παλαιά Μεγάλη Βουλγαρία in Byzantine chronicles) was а term used by Byzantine historians to refer to Onoguria during the reign of the Bulgar ruler Kubrat in the 7th century north of the Caucasus mountains
ofcurs it is similar, in the past we were same people with same language and same religion and traditions.... once we understand that we have to unite but no splitt we will much more than WestEuropians or Amerikans or whatever... we are much stronger, we just have to unite like they do.
my favorite bulgarian dance doing it as a couple dance with the right pardner with flurting chasing and stealing the hankerchief back and fourth with lots of creative dance steps can be creative and rewarding
