@Adam27X..the word of God(Founding father on America, Earth, Everything) Jeremiah 10:12 It is he who made the earth by his power, who established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding stretched out the heavens Psalm 66:7 who rules by his might forever, whose eyes keep watch on the nations— let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah Psalm 100:5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Although religion is not suppose to be in schools and certain other places. I believe if God was placed in the pledge and on the money than he should continue to be in those places. The founding fathers of America had religious beliefs, therefore our country was built up on those beliefs. God isn't hurting anyone. He has in fact made this country a lot better.
"Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise." - Madison
"The divinity of Jesus is made a convenient cover for absurdity. Nowhere in the Gospels do we find a precept for Creeds, Confessions, Oaths, Doctrines, and whole cartloads of other foolish trumpery that we find in Christianity." - Adams
"We discover in the gospels a groundwork of vulgar ignorance, of things impossible, of superstition, fanaticism and fabrication." -Jefferson
I cannot believe how illogical these religious people are. Just think if this debate happened in 1840. "Sir, 84% of America thinks we SHOULD have slaves. Therefore, we should have slaves." Laugh, Laugh, Laugh.
No matter how inflammatory and obnoxious the hosts got, Dr. Newdow stood his ground. I was still a Christian in 2002, the time this was aired. And even then I found atheists to like him impressive and felt he made very good points. Christians should appreciate that the Constitution not only prevents them from stuffing their beliefs down other people's throats, it *protects* them from others doing so to them.
Neudow embarrassed both of those idiots. I like Begala alot but he got owned in this debate with facts. He also got badly owned on the question "was religion responsible for 9/11 attacks." Paul where have you been?? the old guy is just a retard.
Who are these uptight assholes trying to defend the status quo as if "its always been this way" is an adequate defence to oppose change. Thats his whole point! Newdow wants change and these hosts are too scared of change and too biggotted to see that they would be just as angry if it was one nation 'under allah'.
Nobody said you have to compare the pledge of allegiance to, like, global warming or something. Newdow understands that this is a core issue, a violation of our Constitution, and a danger to the country. To fight injustice anywhere is to fight it everywhere.
We have lost our ability to filter nonsense. These hosts are idiots. They corrupt and marginalize Newdow's argument because they know he is correct. Look at 5:37-6:23. Newdow completely owns the hosts. They don't listen to what he says. An atheist may have bombed the Federal Building but he didn't do it in the name of Atheism. Look at 6:03. The host is beat and he knows it and completely chokes and blurts out a sentence of nonsense.
OMG I want to kick those hosts in the face. I find it fascinating that so many smart people can be so stupid when it comes to their religious beliefs. It's not like Dr. Newdow is Muslim and asking to put in the name of Allah. He is asking to take out in God so that it can be equal for everyone it represents.
How about tackle both issues, :) I'm not the one putting you on my show, 4000 hours upholding our constitution from a US Navy veteran, I remember my enlistment pledge to uphold the constitution of the United states including ALL ENEMIES foreign OR DOMESTIC! Seperation of Church and state IN ORDER TO protect religion. If the majority of Americans become Muslum we can make it Allah?, slippery slope
Insane amounts of pwnage from Mr. Newdow! Yes, sir! The hosts are reduced to asking about 1. How he prioritizes his sparetime and 2. Why someone wants to tackle a problem when it's not biggest problem we're faced with...facepalm, guys....
