can i say that the church is only getting soft because it will get even less popular otherwise with the population taking more and more liberal, sort to say, kind of view.
For all of the strides in acceptance of homosexuality, it at least seems like religion is also fighting them every step of the way.
Nothing in my mind points to this more than the resistance gay marriage gets in the US. It was a victory when New York legalized it, but are they really going to have to change the law one state at a time?
Would this even be an issue if religion wasn't in our ear constantly saying, "sodomite, sodomite, sodomite"?
I never liked the word "homophobic", I believe people are born gay, and I support gay rights completly, but people who don't like gays think that homosexuality is evil, they're not primarly afraid of it. Its like if I think murder is evil, I'm not "murderphobic".
@skip8619 Well, I think the term has, at least informally, taken on a meaning broader than being afraid of homosexuals. As time has gone on, I've come to prefer terms such as 'heterosexist' and 'bigot'.
@skip8619 they're like the jews and antisemitism - as soon as you do something they dont like, youre a homophobe... the truth is, they are too weak to fight their perversions and are looking for help...
"they're like the jews and antisemitism - as soon as you do something they dont like, youre a homophobe... "
Kind of like when someone being labled a "liberal" or "abomination" by certain members of religous institutions when he/she does something they don't like.
I am a Gnostic Christian. We accepted gays 2000 years ago and still do. God made us what we are, so why would he reject us? Many people try to speak for God be it in the Old Testament or today but that is not God. If we are to believe in the words of humanity, then who are we really worshipping? We should find and know God for ourselves (Gnosis). What is important is that we Love one another and Paul said that. Either God is Love or he is not! Put down your bible and seek him within.
@pwhite7608 Your religion has started to lose its privileged status in law and public policy. Alas, some Christians mistake this dimunition in privilege for discrimination, even persecution--which mistake demonstrates their utter ignorance of actual discrimination and persecution.
@pwhite7608 "Not nonsense, and it has EVERYTHING to do with reality."
It couldn't have less to do with reality. Christians in the U.S. constitute the largest, most powerful, wealthiest, and most free religious majorities in the history of humankind. You'd do well to get over your manufactured persecution complex. Among other things, it's a profound insult to people around the world--Christian and otherwise--who actually are suffering persecution and discrimination because of their beliefs.
"So mock those that are Christians. So tell us how screwed up we are. Yet a gay Christian deserves to have a spot on one of your videos. That is just evil."
This statement just MAY be coming from the term "homophobic co-religionists" (once) being stated. But if you're going to make such seemingly angry and condemning accusations of the views of others, it's less likely they'll care to listen to anything you yourself have to say.
So mock those that are Christians. So tell us how screwed up we are. Yet a gay Christian deserves to have a spot on one of your videos. That is just evil. It is like saying Hey guys Jesus is a joke, Hell is in your mind but if your a gay Christian then that part is okay with me. What are the gay Christians the only ones right? Think that through so you can see your own hypocrisy.
Christ did not create homophobia Christ NEVER said anything about it. "I came to save not to judge "
homophobia is born with MOSES (Leviticus 18-22)
"Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable. " Blaming Christ by homophobia intends Machiavellian: convince homosexuals to abandon Christianity (+ - 10% of humanity)
this works only because most people did not read the bible.
Gays often have sex just like heterosexuals....then there are babies. A gay man and any woman, or a lesbian and any man will have the same results as fertile heterosexuals. The difference is that in most cases the child created by a gay parent (or a gay man and a lesbian) are almost always WANTED and LOVED, while babies made by uncaring, unloving, incapable heterosexuals often end up in State Care. YOU hate gays more than you love unwanted children, you prefer they suffer to gay adoption.
@tomblack2112 People are religious in order to be more accepted. It gives them a feeling of belonging, of being "better than others". It's like a club membersahip. There are certain privileges.
Do you agree when I say almost all people go to church to be seen by others? If nobody would know they went, most people would never go. Piople grudgingly enter a church, and are dying to get out.
When church lets out, it's a wonderful feeling similar to the last school bell. Church is a chore.
All of those so firmly calling themselves CHRISTIANS and/or CONSERVATIVES are the exact opposite of what they claim to be. Instead of kind and compassionate, they are mean and uncaring. Instead of loving and morally upright, they are hateful and corrupt. Instead of generous and supportive, they are stingy and obstructive.
If there was such a figure as JESUS, would you truly believe this man was "on your side" when you speak and do all of the un-Christian things you embrace? BE ASHAMED!
@schlummieleinchen I agree, I challenge all the so called righteous christians to live to there word, they love war, and love fighting cause its in the Name of God, well sounds like history repeating, The Crusades! My Husband and I are Gay, Im may be non denominational christian but my husband has no faith and hes the best christian I know! Feeds the Hungry doesnt judge or justify any anger, unless we argue about who gets the last piece of cheesecake! LOL!
@babecursenomo Is it always the "Christians" who snoop in total strangers' bedrooms, then circulating vicious rumors that point to their own filthy imagination?
What GOOD do you do in society, other than claim to be God's gift? You are smelling up any room you enter. No wonder America is dropping in world admiration. Other countries have long stopped respecting us. If right wing Christians are the "norm", it would even adversely affect tourism. Arizona has already lost double digit tourism.
They do not "seem" to condemn it, They "do" condemn it! Sin is sin! Homosexuality is sin! But since all have sinned, and fallen short of the righteousness of God, If a homosexual repents he or she can be saved, the same as a drug addict or any other sinner can be saved. We (Christians) all struggle with sin. I don't agree with all the hatred, of people over sin. Those of us who claim to be Christian should love, pray for, and help one another!
And THERE is the core of the debate since many gay Christians and their advocates believe the Bible has been misinterpeted and/or mistranslated to make it seem the sin it may not be.
@clay56 You could always find one of those Bibles that deleted Sodom & Gomorah out of it. Or just talk to the Jesuits I'm sure they would be happy to delete that from one of their favorite translations.
"You could always find one of those Bibles that deleted Sodom & Gomorah out of it."
The allegations of gay Christian opponents concerning Sodom hinge on the Hebrew meaning of the word, "know." The problem here is that the term has ELEVEN different meanings. Evidently they focus ONLY on the ONE meaning they can exploit to make their case.
When I was young, homosexuality did not exist. Sure, there was the occasional fem male, but nobody knew what it meant. It's only since the 1960's that straight males discovered that homosexuals look and act like just as they do - and fear set in.
Pulpits stoked that fear and created the "Gay Agenda". Ah, at last, a common enemy. A money maker! Televangelists sold VHS's of pride parades ($20 + S & H each), "abomination" became the new buzz word.
@EvenGodsSuffer I never heard too much about it until the 1970's, but I was probably too young and nieve my parents shielded me from it till then! Now it's everywhere, being flaunted in plain sight!
I loved that you brought out the shrimp and lobster thing. I do that all the time whenever people ramble about the biblical reasoning for being anti-gay.
Even many gay Christians don't agree completely as to our Lord's will on homosexuality. Some believe gays are called to lives of celebacy while others believe intimate relationships are allowed since a good number of Bible passages have been misrevised and/or misinterpeted.
Im glad it's up to our Lord ONLY to know which is (more) true.
Many say homophobia and other types of other gay opposition come out of the Church. I myself tend to think it's kind of a vicious circle. The disgust, contempt and ignorance of those in society fuels the largely ignorance based opposition of many in the church who use the word "abomination to condemn homosexuality...
I have noticed (it's hard not to) that almost all people who are violently opposed to homosexuals are pretty religious. Though they will invariably quote Leviticus to justify it, it doesn't seem like that is really the reason for, or root of, their intolerance. So what I wonder is: Does religion make people homophobic or do homophoblc people gravitate towards religion?
@jimbrown257 Actually I have noticed recently homosexuals gravitating towards Christ to be healed from sexual addiction and being treated like a piece of meat. They seek healing because their conscience dictates what they are involved with is a sin and that they are a slave to that sin. Quite frankly they are sick of being in bondage and told its ok.
Stating that God created man and woman in and of itself means He forbade any other types of couples to be together is probably presuming too much on His part.
And what is generally believed to be attempted rape was one of a multitude of sins leading to the destruction of Sodom and Gamorrah
My brothers and sisters we are living in a world today where things are like upside down. God vreated us with his image and it is human who created that way, and God created women for men because our God knew that man couldn't stay by himself. And after create of man, they were doing a lot of sins before God.................Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed by God because God was very angry of what they were doing.
Awesome video, Mitch. Have you heard of one theory that Paul himself was a repressed homosexual, and that he might have condemned it in scripture out of self-loathing?
Thanks. Yes, I have heard people propose that about Paul. I suspect we can never know whether it's true or not, but it's certainly an interesting possibility.
Leviticus 18:22 which appears to condemn homosexuality is also quite arguably a "cultural reference." At the same time the apostle Paul who seemed to be condemning towards homosexuals said in 1st Corinthians 14:34-37 that women were forbidden directly by God to speak in church. For such reason this could be considered an "eternal law" though not even more conservative churches pratice it any longer. And different views among Christians arising from the SAME Bible is absolutely NOTHING new.
Comapring the condemnation of homosexuality (an eternal law) with slavery,dietary,etc...(social to the time and the OT) is an apples to oranges deal. The deal on the hair length is also a cultural reference. This video wants one to believe in Christ while selectively choosing what he decides to follow.Thats contrary to Gods teaching.
It's funny kwil, it would seem tha christians are the one's that selectively decide what parts of the OT to follow. You say, for example that slavery was merely a cultural reference, but on what, if any, bases are you making that claim? Also you say claim slavery is only in the OT, but jesus himselfes speaks of slavery. He specifically condones it.
You misread me.I was saying that these were either cultural to the times or limited to the OT.Slavery was a culturally accepted institution that while abhorrent,Jesus laid the groundwork for its eventual abolition. He spoke of slave owners being rsponsible for humane treatment and when combines with His teachings, led to its eventual end.
I don't believe I have misread you, particularly as you're merely saying the same thing now as you did in the post I responded to. Throughout the OT not only do we see hebrews practice slavery, but we read about god setting the rules of slavery. You don't instruct a people on how to buy a slave, or how to sell a slave if you're not allowing them to have slavery. Are you telling me your god didn't bother to speak out against slavery because it was culturally acceptable to the hebrews?
@kwil46 Additionally, all jesus ever said on the subject of slavery was for christian slaves to obey their masters as they would him. This in no way talks about responcibilty. His teachings are partially responcible for past popes endorsing black slavery. He didn't help end it, he helped advance racism.
Correction... This entire video is garbage!!! WHAT IS WRON IS WRONG!!!! SIN IS SIN!!! The Christian walk is a hard walk, but nevertheless it brings us to a place where God can truly work through us. This will require one to stop making excuses for their sin, in order to go to where God wants to take you.Remember the "world" is watching. If this sin goes unchecked "the world" will think of the Word of God as invalid, because it would then be incapable of adhering to its own moral standard.
From what I understand Stephanreyu's statement of " we can't take our understanding of what we know in present day and apply it to the Bible that was written 2000 years ago.", is that God's law is subjected to time. Meaning that because time changes God who is the law changes as well? The Bible teaches the exact opposite, in that God is immutable, God stated in Malachi 3:6- "I the Lord do not change". Hebrews 13:8 " Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever."
it is something to think about....but it doesnt take a person long to figure out that anytime u take any scripture out of context there is gonna be a problem....most of the extreme levitical laws had something do with health or sickness...and most of the known homosexual activity had to do with rape or prostitution...so yea think about it....in context the bible just might be spking to something other than homo reality as it is today...
And just to be clear. People are going to take deductive reasoning, biblical interpretation and theology from an atheist? That's like asking a child molester for tips on raising your children.
Sometime after seminary, my partner of many years and I (we actually met while attending a conservative Christian seminary!) tried to attend an "affirming" and "gay friendly" congregation.
Although we appreciated their kind intentions, we still couldn't help but feel a bit like liberals attending a "We Like Liberals Day Barbecue" at the Heritage Foundation. ;-)
Religion provides human groups a way to communicate rules of behavior through generations subconsciously, without relying on intellect. Intellect allows us to adjust religious programming, so the two complement one another.
i am a lesbian and ive realized that from reading teh bible and being a christian i have a problem. it just doesnt fit. i cant just believe half of somthing. either its right or wrong. the bible says alot of stuff i dont agree with. and we are taught to ignore it. there are just to many contradictions
@B4mytyme the only contradictions in the bible are the sinners. Question for you. Suppose your daughter and son approached you and told you of their love for each other and while they do not plan to have children(because of the incestual risk) they plan to live together and fight for the right of brothers and sisters to marry. They are simply tired of living a lie and hiding their "love" for each other. What would you say to them? Would you give a incestphobic answer?
@michigan6443 You just joined YouTube and somehow headed right for this video? Interesting.
In any case, one of the primary things that marriage does is establish a family relationship between people who do not have one. Siblings already have a family relationship and, therefore, there is no such relationship for marriage to establish.
and going back further before those first organized religions, we'll sooner or later get to the verbal traditions of shamanism. So my point is more practical: What works, i.e. what are the intentions of modern christians who want to stop bigotry and herassment, not only of gay people, but also of peace activists, techno-shaman ect. Even if some might use this merly for missionary causes, I think it is functional for atheists, monotheists, pantheists and mediashaman to focus on common intentions.
Thanks. 'Intent' is the keyword, the one thing that always comes before any de-script-ion and it's interpretation. In the process of the later, bias always makes it pretty much impossible to find original intentions. So academicly it's no wonder that a book that has been canonized, censored & translated so many times must be full of inconsistencies.
And it goes back even further with the question of Adams first wife Lilith and the snake who was a god of the Assyrians.
Isn't analyzing every word of scripture a Fundi- thing to do?
I wrote that as a sign of support, not in order to change your philosophy.
What really figures is that several jewish words with different meanings have been meshed up to a single concept called 'sin' by greek - european translation.
The oldest word is 'Cheit' - it comes from the root khaw-taw meaning "to miss, to err from the mark (speaking of an archer), to sin, to stumble.
Today we would call it 'mediocracy' or 'ignorance'
...When they persisted in questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "Let the person among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her."...
Strange that this really has to be spelled out... This was one of many examples where Jesus suggested to listen to compassion rather than written linear words (of the old testament)...
What's even more strange is that Paul & Christianity never understood this.
Mary, I know what John 8:7 says. And as I pointed out to you in my response to your previous comment, contrary to your bogus quotation it does *not* say, "He who is without ignorance, shall throw the first stone." I'm glad that you've finally figured out what the passage actually does say. Well done.
The sad news, of course, is that John 8:1-11 is probably not part of the original gospel of John, but, rather, a later addition. In some manuscripts, the story appears in...
You would be surprised how often these things happen. Ask 100 people to give you their interpretation of that passage and you'll get 100 different answers.
So you circumvent the entire Word of God by making it "not relevant?" Wow, how misguided you are!
God inspired Paul to write Romans. How in the world (or heaven) do tie dietary law into a sexuality doctrine??? You obviously do not believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God so why call yourself Christian?
Compromise of the truth? I do believe compromising the truth is the favorite past-time of most, not all, christians. Your own bible tells you not to judge. Yet, you love judging. It tells you to love one another...umm, not so much a big fan of that one...are you?
You are very correct saying that the truth is compromised by most, not all, 'Christians'.
You are very incorrect saying the bible tells you not to judge. Rather we are told to make righteous judgments (John 7:24) in light of the Laws of God and not hypocritical judgments (Matt 7:21). If we judge someone for doing something yet we also do it we will be judged in like manner...like the Pharisees.
If you are going to comment on the Bible you should read it an endeavor to understand it in context.
I do try my best to understand the bible in it's context. I also try to understand most books in their context. But, as I'm sure you already know, a person can take..for instance, drinking alcohol (just off the top of my head) and find many verses pro and con for whether it is right to do so. I find it hard to follow any teaching that contradicts itself on many topics. It's like being led around in a circle. Which, is basically the same as arguing most points concerning religion..circular.
A person can SEEM to find many verses pro and con but in reality there is only one truth on all matters. This is why it SEEMS to contradict itself on many topics.
The Bible teachings are straight and narrow - not circular.
It's the fake, self-righteous, hateful, wannabe Christian, who are destroying the Christian's world with their hatred and false believes. They are turning righteous, loyal, and respectable Christians into non-believers. They are killing the Christian revolution as we know it. Jesus didn't condemn people to hell, it's this self-righteous bigots, which their prejudging, belittling, false-prophecy, assumptions, stereotypes, homosexual offending and hatred for people who are not evil like them.
It doesn't matter what you say or who you refer to, homosexuality is a perversion! God will judge and condemn all sexual perverts as per His Word. the Bible clearly condemn homosexuality in all points.
your response is a typical gay response, but your version is easily debunked! God has spoken in through the passages you read, but strangely, you don't want to hear that.
There was no sin of inhospitality in S &G, but sexual perversion even as the book of Jude declares 1:7. It proves the point!
SouthernGent, you're free to embrace and believe your ancient holy book's inanities. However, don't get all pissy because thinking people have long since recognized such tripe for what it is.
You couldn't be a thinker, as a thinker would not think its natural to such on other mens penises and to be poked in the butt by other men!
A thinker would realize and say "Why is the male and female body distinctly different?" A thinker would know that there is something wrong with people of the same gender trying to do to each other what they have been wired to do with the opposite sex!
I love when people use the 'woman and man fit together' analogy. Yet, I find that most straight guys (myself included) sure don't have a problem with blow jobs or whatever else should occur during the course of a nights events. You know what they say Prof, those whom protest a tad too much, are usually hiding their true feelings on the matter.
Indeed, PyschoChaser. On a related note, I remember the day back in law school when in con law class we were studying Bowers v. Hardwick, which upheld sodomy laws (since overturned). When some of the straight men (and a few of the straight women) in the class realized that many sodomy laws applied to heterosexual oral and anal sex, all of a sudden they had a different perspective on such laws. One of them said, "20 years in prison for a blowjob?! Outrageous!" I was like, "Tell me about it."
"...homophobic men showed an increase in penile erection to male homosexual stimuli. The groups did not differ in aggression. Homophobia is apparently associated with homosexual arousal that the homophobic
Cultural contexts make no difference to the law of God. Adultery, worshipping false gods, lying, stealing, men lying with men, are all under condemnation irrespective of culture or time.
Romans 1 clearly states that man with man or woman with woman is unnatural and sinful. Stop lying to these people caught up in this abomination, and start helping them to get out of it. God will condemn the unrepentant homosexual and those who encourage them to commit this sin by saying it is o.k. Stop lying to them you heretic preachers!
You are correct! Gay people are always trying to undermind the Scripture in order to justify their perversion. Going back to the Sodom & Gomorrah incident, it was not inhospitality that caused God to rain down on her Fire & Brimstone, but sexual perversion, namely, homosexuality!
The Book of Jude proves the point in Jude 1:7, where Jude very explicit explained that S & G was destroyed because of sexual persion and sexual immorality! there's no wiggle room for gays to say anything else!
Paul was a real intellectual powerhouse, I tell ya. I'm not sure what nature he looked at to decide that men should have short hair and women long. The only case of natural hair discrepancy I can think of is lions which is reverse to his "logic". And, maybe someone should have mentioned this to 99.9% percent of all artists who have ever portrayed Jesus... I guess those who can't read, paint.
And didn't it dishonor Samson to cut his hair, not to grow it?
Quite literally, the subject of Leviticus 18 is dishonor, not sex:
Do not shame your neighbor (any other Jewish male) by having sex with any of his wives, daughters, etc. or by treating him with the same condescension as you would a woman; do not shame yourself by having sex with your daughter or with animals.
These prohibitions apply only among Jewish males. Raping males of conquered tribes as a sign of contempt was common practice among primitive peoples, the Israelites were no less savage.
Alright i dont need to read those books cuz I have GOD's Word. His Word plainly states that homosexuality is an abomination to GOD. Also i have Romans Chapter 1 that also plainly talks about how sick and deranged and sinful it is. Its just like every other sin though. Gd loves the sinner but hates the sin.
nice video tho prof. i dont agree much at all but well done. however you're supporting arguments were very weak...especially the part when you discredited paul with one thing he said about a man's hair. paul was a minister, a man trying to convey god's truth through his eyes. how about the 1232112 great things paul says? anyway i use to be a lesbian and in my experience there is no real peace there. but thats me. god loved me then and he loves me now. just keep praising him he will do the work.
what bullshit, the bible clearly states that homosexuality is wrong, there is no two ways about, you can't selectively choose your religion. what utter stupidity. you want to be gay then leave chrisitanity and form your own religion; gayism.
Paul is not the person who is in error here. Your humanistic, atheistic esegesis will be recognised for what it is by individuals far more knowledgable in Scripture than yourself.
I suspect you eisegesis. It would be great if you would specifically identify any eisegesis that you believe appears in this video, lest I be left with the unfortunate impression that this nameless bunch of individuals "far more knowledgeable in Scripture" than I does *not* include you.
I am not a naive individual. For people who think as you do, neither Scriptural evidence or correct exegesis will 'ever' serve to convince you of your perversions of fact. You yourself are undoubtedly well aware of them. Your mind has been made up and it is corrupted. I do not perceive your opinions to be either 'reasonable' or 'rational.'
I asked for you to identify any eisegesis you believe to be in this video, Debunks. Your little rant fails to respond to that request. Let's be honest, there's no eisegesis in the video at all, you just disagree with me about homosexuality. That's your right, of course, but don't insult my intelligence and make yourself like moronic by pretending that I've misinterpreted your scriptures. I haven't. I've merely said they're wrong.
I provided you with a truthful response, and you misconstrue that as a 'rant,' like you misconstrue nearly everything else in your little video presentation. Comprehension deficit, perhaps? -RE the Scriptures, 'you' say they are wrong. That's a very impressive argument to make, is it not? People should all bow down before your personal perversions and misrepresentations of the Scriptures? I think not. You say our Scriptures are wrong and I say you are wrong. An impossible impasse? Hardly.
I do indeed. That's not eisegesis, as you mistakenly claimed in your initial post. Rather, it's a conclusion with which you disagree. As I said, let's be clear about what the issue is and what it is not.
"People should all bow down before your personal perversions and misrepresentations of the Scriptures?"
How have I misrepresented the scriptures, Debunks? Please be specific. Thanks.
As for your claim that I'm perverted, well, it's been my experience that those who throw around such invective are often telling us far more about themselves than they are the person they're attempting to insult. You might want to play your cards a bit closer to your vest.
"You say our Scriptures are wrong and I say you are wrong. An impossible impasse? Hardly."
Well, I don't see you demonstrating that the scriptures are right about this. Just more ranting.
Your experience re people who 'throw around such invective' indicates to me that you should resist the urge to read more into my comments beyond what is unequivocally stated. I am not insulting you. I am correcting you and the errors of your thinking in respect to the Bible and homosexual acts. You keep using the word, 'rant,' - oblivious of the impression your video leaves with people who peruse this site. You are the classic egotist. Everyone is wrong but you and those with whom you agree
"You are the classic egotist. Everyone is wrong but you and those with whom you agree."
lol Well, Debunks, yet again you're just makin' stuff up that has nothing to do with anything I say and believe. But you seem *quite* fond of your straw men, so I won't seek to separate you from them. Best of luck to you.
Well the reaoning I heard is, if you read leviticus, and I skimmed over it a bit trying to find the actual verse when I wanted to point this out, for some reason I thought it was closer to 12-15 chapter. I noticed that as I think you mentioned, there is about 4-10 chapters all talking about rules for sex, how unclean woman were and such, about not touching the bed a woman slept in during a period or such. So the act in her bed could be seen as unclean, or a insult to the man and god.
One quick comment, I've heard it stated that one translation of leviticus saying man shall not lay with another man it is an abomination, is actually properly translated as something like, "Man shall not lay with another man, in the layings of a woman." AKA her bed, in other words it's not a condemnation of what, but where.
I've heard that, as well, Wolfwing. It's never really made sense to me as a viable possibility. On the other hand, however, so many of the rules in Leviticus seem utterly nonsensical that I wouldn't be surprised if the "not in her bed" version turned out to be right.
The Hebrew word for love here is not referring to a sexual love. John 15:13 says "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends." Jonathan put his life in danger many times for David, because he knew that David was God's chosen King. David may never have easily risen to the throne had Jonathan remained alive. I could comment more, but my purpose is not to condemn anyone. I love my brother and so does God, but that does not justify homosexuality as right.
Thank you for your video. It is very thought provoking. I have an older brother who is gay who I love very much. I would like to include a couple of thoughts. In Leviticus, laws were divided between ceremonial, civil and moral law. Jesus came to fulfill ceremonial law. The civil law mentioned is obviously out- dated; however, the moral law still stands to prove that mankind cannot live up to the law on their own. Also, the reference to David and Jonathan most likely comes from 2 Samuel 1:26.
It's hard to really misunderstand them. But that wasn't really where I was driving at. Honestly, I think that the fact that the religion would fall apart explains why they dance around this issue. Because if they don't then there really isn't any purpose in actually "believing" beyond the comfort it might give.
True enough. There's also the sense of community that religion can provide (which, I suppose, one could argue is, at least in part, a type of comfort -- though it's not merely that), an outlet for charitable inclinations (not unique to religion, of course), and a number of other things. In many ways, I quite liked being a believer, and the comfort thing as well as the other things I mentioned were all aspects of why I liked it.
Okay... got a question on this topic, because I've debated myself. How do you get around the whole "Word of God" argument? I mean personally I'm a bit too much of a existentialist to be religious but I do find the subject fascinating.
Yeah. Now I may be wrong, I'm certainly not a scholar on this point. But if you assume that the Bible isn't the word of God, doesn't the whole religion collapse?
Indeed it does. However, some Christians take the position that the biblical statements about homosexuality have been misunderstood. That was the position I held when I was a Christian.
The video maker should familiarise himself with biblical slavery, and not compare it to more contemporary forms. The meaning of "slave" is closer to "servant" rather than "forced worker", and many rules guided the Israelites and their non Israelite servants. Further, shellfish and pork are still not good for you. They are among earth's scavangers, as are rats, vultures and other unclean foods. "Jesus declared all foods clean" is not found in the KJV or Greek texts. That is a lie of Romanism.
Youtube doesn't give enough room to debate the topic, but if you search "What Does The Bible Really Say About Slavery?" and click on the link with "livingvinechurch" as url, that should more than suffice to put your insinuation to rest.
As for unclean foods,no I do not equate consuming them on the same level as homosexuality, and no, just because they are in the same book does not mean they have the same equality in terms of sinfulness. Try eating wild pork. Unless you burn that beast to a crisp, you have a chance of getting Trichinellosis. There is a reason God banned it. It, like rats, vultures and other unclean foods, are scavangers. Garbage collectors. A pig will eat it's own crap and sucks up refuse through it's feet.
Yes, they are an abomination. No, they aren't on the same level. Just as murder isn't on the same level as telling a lie. Or adultery on the same level as fornication. This is seen by the different penalties given in the OT. Adultery=death. Fornication = not death. Both wrong. One more than the other. You live in a western country? Have a look around. Huge people everywhere, dying early because they will stuff anything into their mouth. The human body hasn't changed since the law was given.
Probably because you are hypocritically unaware that it applies to your own set of morals, whatever they are. Are they all equal? Or are some infractions worse than others? Do you think everyone who commits a crime should go away for life? Even our courts can make the distinction between serious and less serious crime. Is this something that is beyond you?
"Even our courts can make the distinction between serious and less serious crime. Is this something that is beyond you?"
Indeed. However, nothing in our law is remotely equivalent to the preposterous claim that eating shrimp and consensual sex between adults are abominations while slavery is perfectly fine. You've added the idea of degree of abomination in a feeble attempt to blunt the blow from such nonsensical notions, but it doesn't work. Even with different levels, it's still nonsense.
Cool, well I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree. Fill yourself with pork and shellfish (do try eating lots of wild pork if you dare;) and other crap like most westerners - fat, and on their way to early death from cancer and heart disease and other ailments by stuffing their mouths with loads of sh*t. Or, be gay, have a hundred partners, contract AIDS and suffer. I suppose that is your choice.
Try not to be such a crude moron, Strav777. FYI: I'm gay (no choice about that) and have been with my partner in monogamous bliss for 12 and a half years. I eat pork and shellfish, like everything else, in moderation. So go fly a kite. lol
to prof-mth it is irrelevant to homosexuality. all you have to do is read commentary by rashi, a scribe born before jesus's birth. he said that S&G were destroyed not by the sexual tastes of the men of S&G. but because of their cruelty to strangers.
What's interesting is when one says that the Bible is wrong. In order for one to say that something is wrong, one must assume that there is a reference point to distinguish right and wrong. Without the God of the Bible, what is this reference point?
Whose reason? Mine? Yours? Eddies? Why do you trust your reason? If all knowledge must comport with the so-called standard of your reasoning then all truth would result in subjectivism. Nothing could be known for sure. The laws of logic would not be necessary which would make truth unknowable.
You should wait to argue against Christianity and the Bible until you have a functioning worldview that can make sense out of human experience.
Thanks, this video has helped alot,(as I'm bisexual) ps I HATE RAINBOWS!, can't it at least be like a skull and crossbones or something cool like that???
forget the religious reasons. Don't you think the child who has homosexual parents would feel awkward when he notices what the world around him is really like?
And I don't consider the fuss about homosexuality to be such a big issue, it' sinful and we still didn't kill anyone because of it
"Don't you think the child who has homosexual parents would feel awkward when he notices what the world around him is really like?"
If human beings are going to govern themselves based on what might and might not make children feel awkward, we're going to have to ban a whole lot of things, e.g., overweight people won't be permitted to be parents.
Well yes but the issue of homosexuality is different, I can't imagine what I would do if I knew some homosexual was in love with me. And this could cause several emotional trauma's specifically because he's a homosexual, if he was a hetrosexual that would have been more normal but when a child sees these kinds of things it'll ruin him, it's like showing a 8 years old a movie about sex and violence
Why do you suppoert homosexuality?, what would it benefit us?
Frankly, Eiketsu, there isn't room enough in the comment box to unpack all of the unspoken, baseless, and even bigoted assumptions that riddle your statement above. I'll just say this: it's time you grew up with respect to the reality that some people are homosexuals; they're regular human beings just like you are. The world isn't all about you and people exactly like you.
I never disputed that some people are homosexuals, although several reported they stopped being homosexuals after they became Christians
Several studies have reported an increased risk of acquiring a communicable disease from homosexual sex than with heterosexual sex. However, all sexual transmitted diseases effecting homosexuals also effect heterosexuals
Maybe you can live with them but I can't, they're a disgrace to humanity second only to abortion
Estimated abortions worldwide are aroud 527M to 836M in 1920-2000 alone
That's more than all wars combined throught history. But returning back on homosexuals:
1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders. NIV
some say a gene triggers homosexuality. However, this has problems. First, the gene has not been identified, mere speculation. Second, statistical studies give strong evidence that homosexuality is influenced by environment. Research has shown that adoptive brothers are more likely to both be homosexuals than the biological brothers, who share half genes. In journal Science it's reported "this..suggests that there is no genetic component, but rather an environmental component shared in families"
These studies (Gagnon, John Hopkins University) DO NOT conclude that the children of gay parents are more likely to be gay themselves. What they do say, however, is that such children are far more likely to expirement with gender nonconformity and far more likely to be tolerant of the differences of others. Children should be exposed to homosexuality as early in life as possible because it helps prevent the inculcation of prejudice by ignorant adults.
(con't) Despite god saying its unnatural, you have a natural urge to, well fu(k your self. Now seeing that god says in the bible that all sin is the the same. You to will burn in hell for something you do one or more times a day. You are a hypocrite. And until you remove the plank from your eye I would suggest you first get that masturbation problem under control or do what god says, castrate your self, pluck you your eyes and cut of thoughs dirty hands of yours.
"Maybe you can live with them but I can't, they're a disgrace to humanity second only to abortion"
You poor thing! Waaaaaa!!!!! Stop whining! The real issue is not about you having to live in a world with gay people. The issue is about gays having to live in a world full of people like you.
"It's a curious fact that the more ignorant and depraved men are, the morely they're inclinded to view their neighbors as inferiors."
Well seeing I have grown up in a homosexual house hold I like to think I'm qualified to answer this. No. Though of us who have same sex parents don't feel awkward. If any one does feel awkward its not from are parents its because people try to feed us a bunch of bull on how it will make us children gay (I'm married and s8) or harm us. It does not do any of that.
My sister is gay and living with her partner in Vermont. I have two gay cousins, one male and one female. Some of my colleagues are gay. There is the gay male couple across the street. At a time when I needed more money, I tended bar in a gay club for 11 months. I am with PFLAG and served as a volunteer AIDS worker. In short, the gays I have met, known, been acquainted with run high into the hundreds. I never met a gay person who has converted a straight person to a gay person.

"Homosexuality is sin!"

RudeAwakning 1 year ago
"You could always find one of those Bibles that deleted Sodom & Gomorah out of it."
The allegations of gay Christian opponents concerning Sodom hinge on the Hebrew meaning of the word, "know." The problem here is that the term has ELEVEN different meanings. Evidently they focus ONLY on the ONE meaning they can exploit to make their case.
clay56 1 year ago
@RudeAwakning
The bible is such a convenient tool.

Hey Jim,
Great question!
Many say homophobia and other types of other gay opposition come out of the Church. I myself tend to think it's kind of a vicious circle. The disgust, contempt and ignorance of those in society fuels the largely ignorance based opposition of many in the church who use the word "abomination to condemn homosexuality...
...And vice versa.
clay56 1 year ago
I have noticed (it's hard not to) that almost all people who are violently opposed to homosexuals are pretty religious. Though they will invariably quote Leviticus to justify it, it doesn't seem like that is really the reason for, or root of, their intolerance. So what I wonder is: Does religion make people homophobic or do homophoblc people gravitate towards religion?
jimbrown257 1 year ago
@jimbrown257 Actually I have noticed recently homosexuals gravitating towards Christ to be healed from sexual addiction and being treated like a piece of meat. They seek healing because their conscience dictates what they are involved with is a sin and that they are a slave to that sin. Quite frankly they are sick of being in bondage and told its ok.

Thanks. Yes, I have heard people propose that about Paul. I suspect we can never know whether it's true or not, but it's certainly an interesting possibility.
ProfMTH 1 year ago
Leviticus 18:22 which appears to condemn homosexuality is also quite arguably a "cultural reference." At the same time the apostle Paul who seemed to be condemning towards homosexuals said in 1st Corinthians 14:34-37 that women were forbidden directly by God to speak in church. For such reason this could be considered an "eternal law" though not even more conservative churches pratice it any longer. And different views among Christians arising from the SAME Bible is absolutely NOTHING new.
clay56 1 year ago
Comapring the condemnation of homosexuality (an eternal law) with slavery,dietary,etc...(social to the time and the OT) is an apples to oranges deal. The deal on the hair length is also a cultural reference. This video wants one to believe in Christ while selectively choosing what he decides to follow.Thats contrary to Gods teaching.
kwil46 1 year ago
@kwil46
He specifically condones it.
humanistheart 1 year ago
@humanistheart
You misread me.I was saying that these were either cultural to the times or limited to the OT.Slavery was a culturally accepted institution that while abhorrent,Jesus laid the groundwork for its eventual abolition. He spoke of slave owners being rsponsible for humane treatment and when combines with His teachings, led to its eventual end.
kwil46 1 year ago
"Jesus laid the groundwork for [slavery's] eventual abolition. He spoke of slave owners being responsible for human treatment...."
He did? Where?
ProfMTH 1 year ago
@kwil46
Are you telling me your god didn't bother to speak out against slavery because it was culturally acceptable to the hebrews?
humanistheart 1 year ago
@kwil46 Additionally, all jesus ever said on the subject of slavery was for christian slaves to obey their masters as they would him. This in no way talks about responcibilty. His teachings are partially responcible for past popes endorsing black slavery. He didn't help end it, he helped advance racism.

People hold different views on all sorts of issues. Not only are Christians NOT the exception to the rule but are probably the highest example.

RMAYNARD219 2 years ago
From what I understand Stephanreyu's statement of " we can't take our understanding of what we know in present day and apply it to the Bible that was written 2000 years ago.", is that God's law is subjected to time. Meaning that because time changes God who is the law changes as well? The Bible teaches the exact opposite, in that God is immutable, God stated in Malachi 3:6- "I the Lord do not change". Hebrews 13:8 " Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever."
RMAYNARD219 2 years ago
it is something to think about....but it doesnt take a person long to figure out that anytime u take any scripture out of context there is gonna be a problem....most of the extreme levitical laws had something do with health or sickness...and most of the known homosexual activity had to do with rape or prostitution...so yea think about it....in context the bible just might be spking to something other than homo reality as it is today...

Even if some might use this merly for missionary causes, I think it is functional for atheists, monotheists, pantheists and mediashaman to focus on common intentions.

In the process of the later, bias always makes it pretty much impossible to find original intentions. ...When they persisted in questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "Let the person among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her."...
Strange that this really has to be spelled out... This was one of many examples where Jesus suggested to listen to compassion rather than written linear words (of the old testament)...
What's even more strange is that Paul & Christianity never understood this.

Compromise of the truth? I do believe compromising the truth is the favorite past-time of most, not all, christians. Your own bible tells you not to judge. Yet, you love judging. It tells you to love one another...umm, not so much a big fan of that one...are you?
PyschoChaser 2 years ago
You are very correct saying that the truth is compromised by most, not all, 'Christians'.
You are very incorrect saying the bible tells you not to judge. Rather we are told to make righteous judgments (John 7:24) in light of the Laws of God and not hypocritical judgments (Matt 7:21). If we judge someone for doing something yet we also do it we will be judged in like manner...like the Pharisees.
If you are going to comment on the Bible you should read it an endeavor to understand it in context.
BOX5500 2 years ago
I do try my best to understand the bible in it's context. I also try to understand most books in their context. But, as I'm sure you already know, a person can take..for instance, drinking alcohol (just off the top of my head) and find many verses pro and con for whether it is right to do so. I find it hard to follow any teaching that contradicts itself on many topics. It's like being led around in a circle. Which, is basically the same as arguing most points concerning religion..circular.
PyschoChaser 2 years ago
A person can SEEM to find many verses pro and con but in reality there is only one truth on all matters. This is why it SEEMS to contradict itself on many topics.
The Bible teachings are straight and narrow - not circular.

The Bible seems to contradict itself because "there is only one truth on all matters," BOX5500? Please do expand on that fascinating thought. Thanks.

PyschoChaser 2 years ago
Indeed, PyschoChaser. On a related note, I remember the day back in law school when in con law class we were studying Bowers v. Hardwick, which upheld sodomy laws (since overturned). When some of the straight men (and a few of the straight women) in the class realized that many sodomy laws applied to heterosexual oral and anal sex, all of a sudden they had a different perspective on such laws. One of them said, "20 years in prison for a blowjob?! Outrageous!" I was like, "Tell me about it."

rplende 3 years ago

Paul is not the person who is in error here. Your humanistic, atheistic esegesis will be recognised for what it is by individuals far more knowledgable in Scripture than yourself.
debunks 3 years ago
I suspect you eisegesis. It would be great if you would specifically identify any eisegesis that you believe appears in this video, lest I be left with the unfortunate impression that this nameless bunch of individuals "far more knowledgeable in Scripture" than I does *not* include you.
ProfMTH 3 years ago
I am not a naive individual. For people who think as you do, neither Scriptural evidence or correct exegesis will 'ever' serve to convince you of your perversions of fact. You yourself are undoubtedly well aware of them. Your mind has been made up and it is corrupted. I do not perceive your opinions to be either 'reasonable' or 'rational.'
debunks 3 years ago
I asked for you to identify any eisegesis you believe to be in this video, Debunks. Your little rant fails to respond to that request. Let's be honest, there's no eisegesis in the video at all, you just disagree with me about homosexuality. That's your right, of course, but don't insult my intelligence and make yourself like moronic by pretending that I've misinterpreted your scriptures. I haven't. I've merely said they're wrong.
ProfMTH 3 years ago
I provided you with a truthful response, and you misconstrue that as a 'rant,' like you misconstrue nearly everything else in your little video presentation. Comprehension deficit, perhaps? -RE the Scriptures, 'you' say they are wrong. That's a very impressive argument to make, is it not? People should all bow down before your personal perversions and misrepresentations of the Scriptures? I think not. You say our Scriptures are wrong and I say you are wrong. An impossible impasse? Hardly.
debunks 3 years ago
"RE the Scriptures, 'you' say they are wrong."
Thanks.
ProfMTH 3 years ago
As for your claim that I'm perverted, well, it's been my experience that those who throw around such invective are often telling us far more about themselves than they are the person they're attempting to insult. You might want to play your cards a bit closer to your vest.
"You say our Scriptures are wrong and I say you are wrong. An impossible impasse? Hardly."
Well, I don't see you demonstrating that the scriptures are right about this. Just more ranting.
ProfMTH 3 years ago
Your experience re people who 'throw around such invective' indicates to me that you should resist the urge to read more into my comments beyond what is unequivocally stated. I am not insulting you. I am correcting you and the errors of your thinking in respect to the Bible and homosexual acts. You keep using the word, 'rant,' - oblivious of the impression your video leaves with people who peruse this site. You are the classic egotist. Everyone is wrong but you and those with whom you agree

So the act in her bed could be seen as unclean, or a insult to the man and god.
wolfwing1 3 years ago
One quick comment, I've heard it stated that one translation of leviticus saying man shall not lay with another man it is an abomination, is actually properly translated as something like, "Man shall not lay with another man, in the layings of a woman." AKA her bed, in other words it's not a condemnation of what, but where.
wolfwing1 3 years ago
I've heard that, as well, Wolfwing. It's never really made sense to me as a viable possibility. On the other hand, however, so many of the rules in Leviticus seem utterly nonsensical that I wouldn't be surprised if the "not in her bed" version turned out to be right.
ProfMTH 3 years ago
The Hebrew word for love here is not referring to a sexual love. John 15:13 says "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends." Jonathan put his life in danger many times for David, because he knew that David was God's chosen King. David may never have easily risen to the throne had Jonathan remained alive. I could comment more, but my purpose is not to condemn anyone. I love my brother and so does God, but that does not justify homosexuality as right.
davidmcanderson 3 years ago
"I love my brother and so does God, but that does not justify homosexuality as right."
Thanks for your comment. Well, I've made my case regarding homosexuality in this and several videos, so I won't reiterate it in a comment box.
ProfMTH 3 years ago
Thank you for your video. It is very thought provoking. I have an older brother who is gay who I love very much. I would like to include a couple of thoughts. In Leviticus, laws were divided between ceremonial, civil and moral law. Jesus came to fulfill ceremonial law. The civil law mentioned is obviously out- dated; however, the moral law still stands to prove that mankind cannot live up to the law on their own. Also, the reference to David and Jonathan most likely comes from 2 Samuel 1:26.
davidmcanderson 3 years ago
It's hard to really misunderstand them. But that wasn't really where I was driving at. Honestly, I think that the fact that the religion would fall apart explains why they dance around this issue. Because if they don't then there really isn't any purpose in actually "believing" beyond the comfort it might give.
iniksbane 3 years ago
True enough. There's also the sense of community that religion can provide (which, I suppose, one could argue is, at least in part, a type of comfort -- though it's not merely that), an outlet for charitable inclinations (not unique to religion, of course), and a number of other things. In many ways, I quite liked being a believer, and the comfort thing as well as the other things I mentioned were all aspects of why I liked it.
ProfMTH 3 years ago
Thanks for answering. You've given me a lot to think about :)
iniksbane 3 years ago
Okay... got a question on this topic, because I've debated myself. How do you get around the whole "Word of God" argument? I mean personally I'm a bit too much of a existentialist to be religious but I do find the subject fascinating.
iniksbane 3 years ago
What do you mean by "the whole 'Word of God' argument": that the Bible is the word of God?
ProfMTH 3 years ago
Yeah. Now I may be wrong, I'm certainly not a scholar on this point. But if you assume that the Bible isn't the word of God, doesn't the whole religion collapse?
iniksbane 3 years ago
Indeed it does. However, some Christians take the position that the biblical statements about homosexuality have been misunderstood. That was the position I held when I was a Christian.
ProfMTH 3 years ago
The video maker should familiarise himself with biblical slavery, and not compare it to more contemporary forms. The meaning of "slave" is closer to "servant" rather than "forced worker", and many rules guided the Israelites and their non Israelite servants. Further, shellfish and pork are still not good for you. They are among earth's scavangers, as are rats, vultures and other unclean foods. "Jesus declared all foods clean" is not found in the KJV or Greek texts. That is a lie of Romanism.
Strav777 3 years ago
"The video maker should familiarise himself with biblical slavery...."
The videomaker is quite familiar with slavery as its described in the Bible and, Strav777, your description of it is not accurate.
As for shellfish and pork, do you equate their consumption with homosexual activity as the Hebrew scriptures do?
ProfMTH 3 years ago
Youtube doesn't give enough room to debate the topic, but if you search "What Does The Bible Really Say About Slavery?" and click on the link with "livingvinechurch" as url, that should more than suffice to put your insinuation to rest.
Strav777 3 years ago
"Youtube doesn't give enough room to debate the topic...."
Make a video, Strav777. That's what YouTube is all about.
You're wrong about slavery. Referring me to an apologetics website doesn't change that.
ProfMTH 3 years ago
As for unclean foods,no I do not equate consuming them on the same level as homosexuality, and no, just because they are in the same book does not mean they have the same equality in terms of sinfulness. Try eating wild pork. Unless you burn that beast to a crisp, you have a chance of getting Trichinellosis. There is a reason God banned it. It, like rats, vultures and other unclean foods, are scavangers. Garbage collectors. A pig will eat it's own crap and sucks up refuse through it's feet.
Strav777 3 years ago
"As for unclean foods,no I do not equate consuming them on the same level as homosexuality...."
And yet your holy book *does* equate them by calling both abomination. Why are you ignoring what your scriptures say?
ProfMTH 3 years ago
Yes, they are an abomination. No, they aren't on the same level. Just as murder isn't on the same level as telling a lie. Or adultery on the same level as fornication. This is seen by the different penalties given in the OT. Adultery=death. Fornication = not death. Both wrong. One more than the other. You live in a western country? Have a look around. Huge people everywhere, dying early because they will stuff anything into their mouth. The human body hasn't changed since the law was given.
Strav777 3 years ago
"Yes, they are an abomination. No, they aren't on the same level."
Ah, different levels of abomination. Of course. Why didn't I think of that? lol
ProfMTH 3 years ago
Probably because you are hypocritically unaware that it applies to your own set of morals, whatever they are. Are they all equal? Or are some infractions worse than others? Do you think everyone who commits a crime should go away for life? Even our courts can make the distinction between serious and less serious crime. Is this something that is beyond you?
Strav777 3 years ago
"Even our courts can make the distinction between serious and less serious crime. Is this something that is beyond you?"
Indeed. However, nothing in our law is remotely equivalent to the preposterous claim that eating shrimp and consensual sex between adults are abominations while slavery is perfectly fine. You've added the idea of degree of abomination in a feeble attempt to blunt the blow from such nonsensical notions, but it doesn't work. Even with different levels, it's still nonsense.
ProfMTH 3 years ago
Cool, well I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree. Fill yourself with pork and shellfish (do try eating lots of wild pork if you dare;) and other crap like most westerners - fat, and on their way to early death from cancer and heart disease and other ailments by stuffing their mouths with loads of sh*t. Or, be gay, have a hundred partners, contract AIDS and suffer. I suppose that is your choice.
Strav777 3 years ago
Try not to be such a crude moron, Strav777. FYI: I'm gay (no choice about that) and have been with my partner in monogamous bliss for 12 and a half years. I eat pork and shellfish, like everything else, in moderation. So go fly a kite. lol

What's interesting is when one says that the Bible is wrong. In order for one to say that something is wrong, one must assume that there is a reference point to distinguish right and wrong. Without the God of the Bible, what is this reference point?
Victoruto 3 years ago
Reason, Victoruto. Reason is the reference point. Thanks for your question.
ProfMTH 3 years ago
Whose reason? Mine? Yours? Eddies? Why do you trust your reason? If all knowledge must comport with the so-called standard of your reasoning then all truth would result in subjectivism. Nothing could be known for sure. The laws of logic would not be necessary which would make truth unknowable.
You should wait to argue against Christianity and the Bible until you have a functioning worldview that can make sense out of human experience.

forget the religious reasons. Don't you think the child who has homosexual parents would feel awkward when he notices what the world around him is really like?
And I don't consider the fuss about homosexuality to be such a big issue, it' sinful and we still didn't kill anyone because of it
Eiketsu3000 3 years ago
"Don't you think the child who has homosexual parents would feel awkward when he notices what the world around him is really like?"
If human beings are going to govern themselves based on what might and might not make children feel awkward, we're going to have to ban a whole lot of things, e.g., overweight people won't be permitted to be parents.
ProfMTH 3 years ago
Well yes but the issue of homosexuality is different, I can't imagine what I would do if I knew some homosexual was in love with me. And this could cause several emotional trauma's specifically because he's a homosexual, if he was a hetrosexual that would have been more normal but when a child sees these kinds of things it'll ruin him, it's like showing a 8 years old a movie about sex and violence
Why do you suppoert homosexuality?, what would it benefit us?

Frankly, Eiketsu, there isn't room enough in the comment box to unpack all of the unspoken, baseless, and even bigoted assumptions that riddle your statement above. some say a gene triggers homosexuality.
Eiketsu3000 3 years ago
These studies (Gagnon, John Hopkins University) DO NOT conclude that the children of gay parents are more likely to be gay themselves. What they do say, however, is that such children are far more likely to expirement with gender nonconformity and far more likely to be tolerant of the differences of others. Children should be exposed to homosexuality as early in life as possible because it helps prevent the inculcation of prejudice by ignorant adults.

It does not do any of that.
