Thunder barret's great since there's no real punishment if it doesn't work. Can't stagger yourself, has almost no recoil, good distance, and technically it does give Squall branching HP attacks. As for the "cheap moves" comment...when you're fighting the CPU, abusing mistakes they make is sometimes the only way to win D: bad memories from Inverse Chaos.
